BB Curve 8500 :: How To Turn Off And Receive Calls?
Jul 21, 2010
I just asked a friend to call me online, and he kept getting my voice mail without the phone ringing at all. I tried calling out, and when I did, the phone told me that the "radio mode" was "off," and that it was turning it off. How did I manage to turn off the ability of my phone to send and receive calls? I don't think I did anything like that.
I just bought my 8520 last week and this afternoon I was not able to make and receive calls using my new blackberry. I took out the battery and sim card and waited for about a minute before putting them back in. It seemed to be working this time, but I just wanted to know what has happened to my phone. Can anyone shed some light on it so that I can avoid this problem in future?
My 8520 is set to receive emails from a pop email server. This email server is a Smartermail type that I access via a web browser so that I do not have to worry about syncing emails across computers. I have numerous filters on the Smartermail to ensure clients mail goes into named inboxes. None of those filtered mails are being sent to the blackberry. I only receive the unfiltered emails. This is clearly no good at all as I am missing pver 75% of my emails. I could of course set the Smartermail to forward ALL messages to the blackberry email address but this would create two problems - duplication of mails on the blackberry and replies from the blackberry inbox would carry the blacberry sender address and not my company one. The other alternative would be to remove all filters on smarter mail but this would create a big housekeeping headache with one enormous mailbox.
I am able to send and receive my emails but no sound plays for them I have went though all the sound settings and set every thing the same and waiting for my battery to charge to test it see if that fixes it or not.
i have recently purchased the blackberry curve 8520 on pay as you go, and i can not make or recieve calls, failed call pops up, also i can not setup my email address
I m from Brazil and I have just changed my device from the 8300 series to the 8500 series. All the contacts in my outlook have the phone numbers in the following format + (country code) - (area code) - xxxx-xxxx. I cannot dial in my new device because I have not been able to set up the dialing mode to automatically recognize this dialing format. Where can I do it? I used to have it in my 8300 series device, but I forgot how to do it.
A couple of weeks ago my employer gave me a password to activate my Outlook account for my Curve 8530. I was able to send and receive emails for about 3 days, then I suddenly stopped receving emails.I can send email from my outlook address, my Sent Items appear and my Outlook calendar items appear on the blackberry calendar.I'm just not receiving emails through the Inbox.I've contacted my carrier and my IT department at work, but no one can figure out why I'm not getting emails on the Curve. The usual fixes aren't working.
Today I downloaded a app and then I decided I didnt want it so unistalled it in which it then said I needed reboot/reset so I clicked yes and then it will not come back on now. At times the light flashes red but nothing happens. I have tryed charging it, taking battery in and out. Any advice would be grateful it is only about a month old.
I have a blackberry curve 9360, My friend calls my phone and I never get her call, her call goes straight to voice mail and my phone doesnt ring. But we can text each other. I also tried calling her 3 times, she has an iphone and her phone doesnt ring or show history of my call. Im pretty sure my call didnt go through.
I purchased the 8530 Curve and sync my contacts from my data base (437 of them). When people call or text me I always see the phone number, but not always their name? So I don't know who it is...frustrating!!! Yet, when I call out, I do see their name. Then to make it worse, it is random...meaning sometimes it works and sometimes it does not.
when i try to place a call, the phone keeps jumping back and forth between the handset and the headset, but there is no headset attached to it, speaker phone does not work either, the little icon that shows the phone with two arrows or a headset keeps changing back and forth, it was working earlier today and then all of a sudden started doing this.
Monday i'm going to Paris and i don't like to pay for my blackberry internet when i'm there. Does any of you know how to turn your internet off? So you.don't have to pay for internet when you are in an other country.
I am an newbie in terms of the world of Blackberry. On my previous phones I have gotten used to the display turning on when a call and/or text message arrived. I can't seem to get that to happen with my 8530 Curve. Can that feature be turned on?Also, can the display to directly to text messages and/or e-mails without me having to navigate to the appropriate folder?
It had enough battery power but just shut off and wont turn back on, even after charging. I tried to remove the battery and put it back, still nothing, only the red light indicator is steadily on. What needs to be done to restore the device?
My phone phone turn off by itself about 3 hrs ago. It will not turn back on, the icd light is flashing red. Seems like to me it's flashing 2 longer flashes then 2 small one straight away. Continuously repeats this with 20/30 seconds between each. I have tried plugging it into my laptop but is not connected.
I was on the phone with her, and she dropped it. It's a 3G Curve on Verizon I believe. And now when I call her it gives me a fast busy tone. She can text me, but she can't call me. She's done a battery pull, turned on and off airplane mode, turned on and off bedtime mode, nothing seems to be working.
I bought a new blacberry curve 9300 on Sunday (April 1st,2012) and very next day below problem appeared :-
"Whenever anyone calls me I see the phone is ringing but I am not able to answer/receive a calls by pressing any Key. to solve the issue I tried to remove the battery and inserted it again and phone reboots, but for a few hours problem goes away but after few hours again I see the same problem and have to remove the battery again n again which is irritating me now"
i recently bought a new BB 8320 curve. Im having troubles making calls and sending sms to certain contacts in my address book, even if i have full network coverage the calls fail the only way i can make calls is by manually dialling the contacts phone number. I also am not receiving any sms or calls from contacts.
i just got a blackberry this afternoon, and my dad tried to ring me to make sure that it worked and sounded okay. when he rang it said that i had rejected the call but infact i never even got a call in the first place. my sister then tried it aswell and the same happens.
Everything else works fine, EXCEPT all my calls get sent directly to voicemail Went to a TelCel center yesterday and they reinstalled the software on my phone (erasing everything) and I was able to receive calls for a total of 18 hours. Now, back to voicemail!
I can't dial out or receive calls. My message says call lost due to fading. I sent my phone to RIM for repair. Now the loaner they sent me has the same problem. My texts emailing and browsing work fine.
