I am an newbie in terms of the world of Blackberry.On my previous phones I have gotten used to the display turning on when a call and/or text message arrived. I can't seem to get that to happen with my 8530 Curve. Can that feature be turned on?Also, can the display to directly to text messages and/or e-mails without me having to navigate to the appropriate folder?
View 7 RepliesI purchased the 8530 Curve and sync my contacts from my data base (437 of them). When people call or text me I always see the phone number, but not always their name? So I don't know who it is...frustrating!!! Yet, when I call out, I do see their name. Then to make it worse, it is random...meaning sometimes it works and sometimes it does not.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an S5 which ALL OF A SUDDEN has stopped making a sound when ringing also when texts came through! I have search my self "round the bend", looking for a reason/solution!, to no avail!
I've tried resetting the sound settings, changing the ringtone etc! (when selecting a different ringtone, the phone DOES NOT make any sound then either, whereas, before it would play the tunes as I went through the "ring tone" menu).
The other sounds, ie key pad, internet etc all play sound!
My iPhone 4 does not ring when I get an incoming call or text MSG. The in app sounds also do not work. They work only with the headset. Music plays and everything else is working fine. Tried restoring, blowing into the jock, pressing near the home button.

I found another bug that is recreatable. If you are in the middle of sending a text message and using the voice input and talking to the voice input when a call comes in, the voice input is abandoned, the "answer/ignore" screen shows for a second. But before you can answer, the keyboard comes back up and covers it up, so you can't answer the call. And then the keyboard is stuck on the screen. "back" doesn't make it go away (so you still can't answer the call). Even if you go to the home screen, the keyboard is still on the screen. Stock phone, not rooted, all updates applied, etc.

Phone doesnt ring or set of tone when texts come in anymore. I push the volume button and everything stays quiet, the volume bar now says incoming call volume for some reason too. Its not in silent mode either.

Today I downloaded a app and then I decided I didnt want it so unistalled it in which it then said I needed reboot/reset so I clicked yes and then it will not come back on now. I don't know if i just noticed now or what, but whenever i get a text message or facebook message, basically any notification, my screen wont turn on and display it. Just led blink + sound+ viberate. I went into my settings and tried basically everything possible. I have show notifications on lock screen and inside messages app its toggled to show on lock screen also.
