Is there anyway to block messages on this phone? Or at least make the phone not sound when receiving a text message? Or any application to block/ignore text messages from a specific number?

Jun 7, 2014Sometime in the last week, a post was made asking how to prevent an unwanted person from contacting her via SMS messaging. She can block his phone number directly, and/or just not answer "unknown caller" attempts. (could just direct those to a silent ring/disconnect)
I was browsing aimlessly thru the internet and just came across this blurb:

and this blurb: • Starting from Android 4.4, Google has revoked SMS/MMS permissions from developers. Due to that fact, LINE whoscall will not be able to block SMS/MMS for Android versions 4.4 and above. Call blocking feature is not affected.
If that is actually true, as of today we have no way to block unwanted SMS messages.
I was reading all of the info on different Caller ID apps to see if any of them are worthwhile.

Aug 9, 2015So for weeks I've been dealing with a low storage space issue on my N5. I've been hovering at about 500MB of free space. I delete some photos, some cached data, etc., and get some more breathing room for awhile. (An aside: there's a specific app that is using way too much data storage and the amount keeps going up and up; I'm trying to resolve that issue without deleting the app.)
Occasionally I've received the system alerts about no new voicemail downloads, possibly no new message downloads, etc. I'll clear some space and those alerts go away and everything continues to seem to work fine.
This morning I got the low storage space alert(s), deleted some stuff, eventually got a handful of new email notifications, but for the past 6+ hours I've received no new txt messages (I use Messenger app for sms). I currently have 553MB of free space, I'm getting email notifications, and txt messages I send out are successfully received.
How do I resolve this? My N5 is unrooted. I've tried leaving it off for awhile, and have obviously rebooted it. Could this just be some network issue? (I'm on tmobile.)
(btw, I somewhat recently backed up and deleted a bunch of sms/mms messages, so there's only about 8000 currently on my phone, taking up about 165MB of space.)

May 16, 2010I have my phone set up to auto off and on each day. I also have run a Wifi at my house, so my phone is always using this connection first. Most times when I try to send my first message of the day it hangs until I shut down all connections. I do notice that the UMA isnt connected. I see the 5 bars with wifi. After a on/off cycle the UMA and wifi come back on. The wifi signal is strong at 2-3 lines always. Its like the 3G and UMA are fighting one another and no one wins. Am I missing something?

Siri Not Recognizing New Incoming Messages On IPhone 4s Using IOS 8.1
Dec 9, 2014I upgraded my 4s to iOS 8.1.1. Now when I'm using my bluetooth device, Siri does not recognize any text messages or iMessages that I get. I ask it to read me the last incoming message, which worked nicely before the upgrade, and it tells me that I have no new messages. I've tried all kinds of resets and accessibility modifications, but nothing has worked so far.
