Motorola Photon 4G :: Bug: Incoming Call While Doing A Voice Text Message?
Nov 13, 2011I found another bug that is recreatable. If you are in the middle of sending a text message and using the voice input and talking to the voice input when a call comes in, the voice input is abandoned, the "answer/ignore" screen shows for a second. But before you can answer, the keyboard comes back up and covers it up, so you can't answer the call. And then the keyboard is stuck on the screen. "back" doesn't make it go away (so you still can't answer the call). Even if you go to the home screen, the keyboard is still on the screen. Stock phone, not rooted, all updates applied, etc.

I had a downloaded notification tone from Zedge, but i deleted zedge and switched to a system tone after the problem started. I have taken battery out, still nothing. Nov 12, 2012I'm having trouble setting a default tone for incoming texts. I assumed this was done in Settings->Sound->Default notification, but texts still come in with the original factory default tone. This is not good since I have so much trouble hearing the tone and subsequently miss texts. Do you have to set the tone and restart the phone? I've had a similar problem with ringtones as well. You set a custom ringtone for a contact, it acknowledges that the tone is set, but the tone that's played for the contact is the default. I'm honestly starting to regret getting this phone. I'm running the most recent firmware for the Photon Q 4G LTE (7.7.1Q-6_SPR-125_ASA-10). Unfortunately, the issue existed prior to the update and is still a problem.

Checked firmware for phone - was up to date
Checked message tone was active in profiles - was active
Deleted all messages in inbox/drafts/sent - fixed issue had 41 messages total in these 3 folders.
I can't understand this error, I had an iPhone 3G before coming back to Nokia (N97 mini OS served a better purpose) I could store literally 100's of texts and never had a problem, If I can't have more than 40 texts in my folders without the alert turning itself off..Then the phone is useless.... I could have a text sitting there for hours without knowing.I have read other threads that have been marked as SOLVED but without an explanation of why this happens how is it solved if it keeps happening to people? It may have returned the message alert and tone... but if there is a bug it shouldnt me marked as solved..

Sep 3, 2011Since I purchased my Photon a couple weeks ago, I have had this issue. Whenever someone sends me a text message including a photo, I receive a text from '9000' indicating that the person (phone number only-no name) has sent me a picture message, and prompts me to click on the Sprint picture mail website link to view the photo. Once I click the link, and the site finally opens, the picture is visible. Because the text is sent from 9000, I can't reply to the sender of the message by hitting 'reply,' because I would be replying to 9000. I called Sprint about this MMS issue, and they told me it's because this is a GSM phone. I'm hoping there is some setting or configuration that needs to be adjusted to allow my incoming picture messages to appear properly

Aug 16, 2012When I go into the text messages app, it only shows the current day's messages and the time that I received them. No contact name, no number. I've played around with it a bit, but cant figure out where to even begin addressing this.
I recently switched out my Curve 9350 under warranty, since the old one was overheating and draining the battery. The first one I had didn't have this issue, from the get-go it showed contact names, pictures, and broke the messages down into days, but I could scroll and view all of them. My new one has only shown my text messages in the way I described above.

I have a long email alert and message tone, and when I'm on a call and they go off, it's so loud and long I can't hear who I'm talking to. Feb 2, 2010The 5800 and 5530 don't dispaly the name of the sender when a text message is received, right, Well so I thought. and I wasn't too happy about it as all my previous phones had this facility. Then a few days ago I got a message on my 5530 and when I looked at the screen there waa white star overlaying the image of the sender on my contacts bar. Great, I thought, I'd never noticed that before! But how could this be? I haven't had a firmware upgrade or anything. Since then I've found that I occasionally get the star on messages from this one contact, but not on messages from any of my other contacts.What's going on? I've searched the web and can find no references to this at all.Have any other users noticed this feature? And can anyone explain why it doen't work for all contacts?
