I recently purchased a new LG G3. The stock message app deletes all messages after two weeks. I have gone to settings and increased the number of messages before deleting from 200 to 500 to 5000. It changed nothing. There is no mention of time-based message limit control. How do I turn the 2-week message delete control off?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Blackberry torch automatically deletes saved text messages. When I go to my saved messages folder most or all of them will be gone. I've noticed that when it begins to delete old messages it turns them green so I can not read them again and old messages that I have saved also turn green and are automatically deleted. This is a highly disappointing weakness of the torch and as I am new to Blackberry I thought saving text messages would be an easy and basic task to do. I have never had this problem with any other make of phone. Other than this problem I have only had a few glitches and like the phone but I would not recommend it.

I purchased the 4S (iOS 5.1) and am having a hard time deactivating text previews... All that I've read says to go to settings> messages> show preview then slide to off position, the only problem is, is that I do not have the "show preview" option to slide off.

How do you stop replies to a text message that was sent to a group of people from being sent to all the people in the original text message that was sent? I replied to a text this morning and thought I was only replying to the person who texted me. The reply went to others! It happened on Mother's Day also.Got a Happy Mother's Day text and replied. If my phone dies, is updated, or I need to turn it off, when I turn it back on it will send some really old texts and a lot of them. Also, Verizon claims it's an HTC problem and HTC said to call Verizon. I've tried everything from system restore to deleting entire threads. It's a bunch of crap that neither company has an answer by now.

Every day at 10:30 GMT (without fail) I get a text message from Ovi Nokia App telling about some 'cool app' or other. This is now seriously bugging me - I didn't subscribe to it (my wife uses Ovi Store and doesn't get these messages). I keep thinking I am popular but no, it's just Ovi Nokia App telling what i already know! How do I get rid of it? I have tried to reply and send 'STOP' but it won't let you reply. I can't find anywhere on this site that tells you how to stop it either. I am reaching the point where I now purposely 'lose' my phone at 10:29 GMT and then find it again at 10:31 just to avoid the curse of ovi!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've spent so long googling and I've made exactly no progress at all...!!- Problem: my blackberry only keeps text messages for about a week before deleting them- Phone type: It is a blackberry Curve 9320. It seems to be on OS 7.1. I got it around the middle of October 2012.- Also worth noting: unlike most people I've found online with this complaint- my call logs aren't being deleted, and are still intact all the way back to the middle of October when I got the phone.- Also, emails aren't deleted after a week, they perhaps linger for as much as a month before vanishing.
(I don't care about those as much because I can access them other ways, whereas texts I can't)According to various googlings and also questions on here, this is most commonly due to lack of memory, therefore they suggest that you check your memory status and then free some up if required.- When I go into device and status information it tells me that my free memory is around 133602256 bytes (which I believe is in the region of 126mb?). Does this count as a lot or a little? Could this be the source of the problem after all?- Similarly when I look in memory use under media it says 'built-in media storage 96% free (30.4mb)' and 'media card storage 95% free (1.7gb)'The other obvious thing which I've checked (and initially thought had solved the problem but it hadn't) was 'Message display and actions' where I've had 'days to keep messages' set as forever but it doesn't seem to have made a difference.Am I missing something really obvious? How can I get it to keep my messages for more than 7 or 8 days?
So my N79 is refusing to let me send text messages on the grounds that "Text Message: Not enough memory to perform operation. Please delete some data first". So I went through and got rid of a heap of stuff - songs, videos the kinda things that are big files, and still no change.
My phone memory has 368kb free and my memory card has 3734 mb of free memory.Was working perfectly fine yesterday with more data and my phone stores about 1000 messages pretty easily, several videos, songs etc..
After only a couple of days with my torch and not having modified it all, all of a sudden when I click on the TEXT message icon, it just shows my regular inbox.It used to show only SMS messages and was really cool. Now it shows emails and all!
I dont see anywhere to change this back to the original behavior. I did a hard reset with no luck.So far I love my phone even with the minor annoyances like it hangs for a few seconds after unlocking it everytime, fine I can live with that. But I really want to fix this text message thing
When ever I receive at least 2 or more Voice Mail messages in my mailbox,I also receive a SMS Text message that states "Voice Mail".The message waiting indicator is sufficient for me.Is there a way to stop the "Voice Mail" Text Messages?
View 4 Replies View RelatedRecently, my bluetooth has taken to reading out my texts out loud, which is a huge problem when I'm connected to external bluetooth speakers. An embarrassing problem that must stop. I don't know what's changed and I don't know what to do to stop this. The only clue I have is that in "Application Manager", when I go to "Bluetooth Share" and scroll down to "Permissions", it lists:
edit your text messages (SMS or MMS)
read your text messages (SMS or MMS)
recieve text messages (SMS)
send SMS messages - this may cost you money
I suspect it's the "read your text messages" that's causing my problem (although I am not smartphone savvy by any means so my suspicion may not be worth much) but there is seemingly no way to edit these permissions from this screen. It makes no sense to list the permissions but make them impossible to edit.

Just wanted to share this, I'm due my upgrade and the retentions advisor on the phone told me that they Bold 9700 would no longer be available on o2 in the UK and o2 would be offering the new Blackberry Torch in 3 to 4 weeks time. This was direct from their retentions department over the phone about an hour ago.

At the moment it gets up to about 2000 texts and then I have to delete them either one by one or the entire inbox at once. I have the sent messages set to hold only 100 texts but cannot work out how to do this with my inbox.

For a while now I can only view text messages from the "message" icon on my phone. I used to be able to view 2 different email accounts. The only way I can see my emails now is from the little window just below where the time is displayed.
