How do you stop replies to a text message that was sent to a group of people from being sent to all the people in the original text message that was sent? I replied to a text this morning and thought I was only replying to the person who texted me. The reply went to others! It happened on Mother's Day also.Got a Happy Mother's Day text and replied. Started getting a bunch of texts asking who I was. This feature needs to be stopped!
I purchased the 4S (iOS 5.1) and am having a hard time deactivating text previews... All that I've read says to go to settings> messages> show preview then slide to off position, the only problem is, is that I do not have the "show preview" option to slide off.
So on my G3, if i got a text sent to me and say 2 other people from 1 person, it would turn into a group messaging MMS. Then any text i send goes to all parties.
I can send a group text but the replies come individually. Which sucks because i dont know who is in the group.
When SMSing, conversation looks good and replies are seen one after another just like they should be. However, when I reboot or battery pull my Storm2, SMS conversations get messed up so that all replies get combined into one message and the same happens with messages from the other party. It makes conversations extremely difficult to follow.
I recently purchased a new LG G3. The stock message app deletes all messages after two weeks. I have gone to settings and increased the number of messages before deleting from 200 to 500 to 5000. It changed nothing. There is no mention of time-based message limit control. How do I turn the 2-week message delete control off?
I have a Galaxy S5 and would like to be able to stop the notification of receiving an e-mail without stopping the notification of text messages. Is there a way to differentiate? I was able to do this on older phones.
I just want to know if there is a way that I can open my text message "inbox" without haivng to open a new text message that I have. I used to have a droid. When I clicked on the message icon, it would open to the full inbox, just not the conversation with the new text message. I want to know if there is a way I can do this with my iPhone as well.
The bar on the top of the screen between the "select a profile" and the "search magnifying glass" where the notifications pop up not sure what that page is called but in this slide down screen under Text Messages I have a text message that is staying at unread. Even though I have deleted the text message and I've tried everything to try and get it to go away. Today I have a Blackberry Messenger Message that won't delete as well. Does anyone else have this problem and figure out a way to refresh and get ride of it? I've tried turning the device on and off a few times but doesn't fix the issue.
Received Text message failure due to low signal and now my iPhone will not resend the message and will not send any other messages to the same number - all happened after moving up to iOS.5
I Often times I'll get a " message failed" message while trying to send text or iMessages to friends. The only way it'll eventually send is if I dekete tge entire message thread. Any way I can fix this problem on my iPhone 6 plus?
I'm thinking of abandoning the I-Phone altogether because of two annoyances that get only worse, not better, with time. But if any newer I-Phone (I currently have the 3GS) has removed these annoyances, I will upgrade.
1. I want txt alerts to continue (every minute or two) until I have opened and read a text message. Does any model I-Phone allow for this?
2. I want to disable predictive text as I don't like the I-Phone algorhthym for this -- it causes me endless grief. Which model allows for this?
3. I want my battery to last a minimum of 2 days without charging (I've tried all the usual ways of reducing battery consumption and the result does not meet my needs). Does any model I-Phone allow for this?
I can't receive group texts from one of my contacts. Regular texting works fine, I just can't see her replies in group messaging. She can see mine. Already checked settings and everything there is normal. Group messaging is on, so is iMessage.
His text message gets interrupted halfway through by an old message he sent before (be it a previous message from a few minutes ago or from weeks ago!) It only happens with texts from him, no-one else. I've tried deleting our conversation but it makes no difference. It's getting so frustrating cos I have to keep asking him to text me again and a lot of the time I just get another 'cracked' text!
I have my work email set up as my default email account on my 4S. I can receive emails fine but when I reply the receiver gets the reply from my gmail account. I don't even have gmail set up on my iPhone!
After updating my software on my 3GS any iMessage reply I get from my husband shows as if I sent it to myself. The entire conversation is on the right in blue or comes thru as an iMessage from myself. It only happens with his 3GS and mine
I'm having an issue with text messaging - when I receive a reply to a text and have the text app open in the conversation with the person that is replying, the reply does not show up. The notification sound goes off, and a number shows up in the top left corner, in the messages icon, as if I received a text from a different person. If I click messages and go back, it will be there when I re-enter the message. This happens with both iMessages and regular text messages. Is there any way to adjust this setting so that it will appear in the conversation if it's opened?
my iPhone Mail as well as the Mail app on my Macbook have been showing replies in the inbox from Gmail. For instance, I will receive an email from someone and it will show up fine, then when I reply, my sent message will show up in the thread.
This has started about 2 days ago and is making it tough to manage my mail. I am running the newest version of the iPhone software and Mountain Lion on the Macbook.
