Motorola Droid X :: Text Message Notifications Not Working?
Oct 25, 2011
Anyone else have the problem with not being notified of new text messages? Many times I will pick up my phone and not see any LED or text message icon in the notification bar but will have new unread texts.
All of a sudden or since last update, my ringtones for receiving a text message or a voice mail has stopped working.I think have check all the settings but need help badly need this feautert to work for my work....the overall voloume is all the way up, silent mode turned off, vibrate turned off, changed ringtones (thinking one may have gotten curoppted) Pulled battery and crashed instead of just turning off......
I am not getting notifications from incoming text messages. I have to open the stock texting app, and I will immediately see the unread messages, and at that time I get the 'Droid' sound and the text icon appears in the notification bar. I am running a totally stock X2 with 2.3.3. I have no other text app installed other than the stock app, and I would rather keep it that way.
is there a way to get mesage notigication beeps ONLY on getting new text messages, but NOT on getting any email messages? Also, I want to continue to hear the phone ring when a voice or video call comes in.
I have a Galaxy S5 and would like to be able to stop the notification of receiving an e-mail without stopping the notification of text messages. Is there a way to differentiate? I was able to do this on older phones.
The only way I can find out if I have new mail in my Gmail app is if I check and refresh it manually. I have push notifications turned on under the email settings. I have background data enabled. Trying to avoid restoring my phone.rundown of settings to get my notifications back up and running?
Is there a way to turn the text-to-speech options on only for caller ID and text messaging? I don't want the phone to tell me every button I push or screen menu that I'm on. I want it only to read me texts and say who the call is from before ringing.
Droid Razr 16, google speech app - when using speech app to dictate text mesage, and more than one sent to same person in short period of time (5-10 minutes), the first text message is resent rather than the second text message which has been dictated and appears in the confirmation/edit window. Verizon Wireless tech support was stumped, and no help in the online motorola tech support either.
I got an early release on the Fitbit Surge. Its awesome so far except my smartphone, a Motorola Droid Turbo, will not currently sync notifications for text and phone calls. I've emailed them asking about the problem. They say it is because "the Fitbit app is not currently supported by the Motorola Droid Turbo." The smart phone compatible list on their website does not show my phone, however the app works just fine and even syncs everything else the surge has to offer. Fitbit says they are working closely with smart phone manufactures to work out the Bluetooth 4.0 problems. The only instance that the I have any trouble is when I check the text and call notifications box in the Fitbit app for my surge.
Since the very beginning of the GB update (actually began with the Soak Test), the LED notification stopped working when I get a gmail. At some period shortly after, the notification to the notification bar also suddenly stopped as well. Now, the only way to see if I have a gmail is to go to Goolgle gmail and check.
In the native Text Message application I am finding that for one contact, that I notice, the conversation is not grouping inbound and outbound messages. For all others it is. For example: If I open the Text Message application I can see two entries for the same contact. The first entry is all the messages I have sent to this contact. The second entry is for all the messages this contact has sent me. I have deleted the contact and recreated and it still occurring.
If I'm in the text message app viewing a conversation, press menu key, call, all the contact phones numbers show as "Other". the contact phone numbers have the correct labels in the contacts app.
I am having trouble figuring out how to disabel the text message notification screen that pops up when the Droid 3 is on the car dock. I find this screen to be unnecessary and annoying. It is particularly inconvenient while using navigation. I believe I have been through all the menus, but maybe I'm missing something.
This has happened since day one and has happened on 2 devices. It has happened in the stock messaging app as weel as chomp and handcent. I sometimes get as many as 6 of the same message. It doesn't happen all of the time, but too much for me. I've tried clearing the cache and I even did a master reset wih no luck.
Does anyone know if it is possible to remove the text message limit. On my old D1 I know there was an option, but I don't see it on the D3, this is a pretty big deal for me.
Now that I've had this happen a couple of times and I know I wasn't hallucinating, I wanted to see if anyone else had noticed it.Sometimes, when I get a new text message, I pull down the notification bar, click the notification, and it takes me to a blank text thread, addressed to the person who sent me the message, just as if I was sending a brand new text in a brand new thread to that person. If I back out of it and go back to text messaging, their name is still showing in bold blue, indicating there is a new message, and I can click it and everything is there as expected.
Why is there no way to look at your phone and tell how many text messages you have with out having to go into you text message? I had a samsung charge that had this feature and it was great option. When you are getting emails all day and calendar appointments notification showing up. It is easy to miss text messages notification.
When connecting a Droid Razr Maxx to our Mercedes via bluetooth, we get a text message import error every time whether or not we have any text messages on the phone. Any ideas? The dealer worked on this today and found that all the other phones which were owned by employees worked without this message.
I get no led notification, screen off or of course screen on. Occasionally the led will flash a single time when the phone goes into sleep mode but no more after that. Not for email, text message, nothing. Tried a reset and no led even before re-installing 3rd party apps. None of the led apps worked either.
I just noticed this, and I'm not sure how long it's been happening, but I can't find any setting to get the phone to vibrate when I receive a text message. I can have it make a sound or be silent, and the phone vibrates just fine when I get a call.
When you recieve a text and press the menu button, there is a an option to "call". If you select call you get a popup window with that contacts phone numbers. The bug is that all of them are listed as "other", instead of "home", "mobile", "work".This is on MB810.
