Oct 26, 2011I have mine set (checked) and ringer is on (not silent or vibrate) but I never get a notification sound when 100% charged.

At some period shortly after, the notification to the notification bar also suddenly stopped as well. Now, the only way to see if I have a gmail is to go to Goolgle gmail and check.

Sep 26, 2011I just received my new Bionic yesterday, and it is loudly notifying me every time I receive an e-mail. I have been into settings and can't find any way turn notifications off. When I click "settings" under gmail, there is an option to turn off the icon in the status bar, but no way to turn off the sound.

I installed the Facebook app from the Market, and now when I go to accounts, and click Add, I see 2 facebook icons (one produces the annoying Motorola terms & conditions screen and I suspect is tied into Blur somehow), the other is clearly the Facebook account that goes with the Facebook app, but when I click that one, nothing happens. Can I add a facebook account without agreeing to Motorola's T&C (and possible getting bogged down in their social networking apps)?

Sep 29, 2011Facebook Calender sync with Bionic?Is there a way to do this? My Samsung Charge (POS!) did this, and was wondering if there was something I needed to change in the Bionic to do this..I'd also like to add that this phone fricking Rocks. I had the Samsung Charge for 3 weeks and I think I got a minor ulcer from it - muted calls, reseting, freezeing on reset. The screen was beautiful, bout all I have to say nice about the phone.I will say - it chews up the battery, but that's ok. I expected that from the begining. I'm just really impressed with it. Only problem or complaint I have is the blue tooth dialing.. It's locked up and reset the phone three times.. it's very differnt from the way it worked on my droid. Seems to be a diffrent program all together.

Only option is to press the Force close and from then on the phone does NOT work right. I end up having to power it off and back on.

Sep 13, 2011First post, as I'm an Android developer, but just got my first phone with Motoblur. So far, I have to say that the Blur interface has been disappointing as a power user, relative to the stock interface (many things that the stock Android does well, Blur doesn't, imho). But, that's not why I'm here...I'm here because I've noticed, under the new Bionic, that the official Facebook for Android app doesn't allow me to use it to setup a sync account. In the accounts menu, if I click "Add an account," it displays the list of possible account types. Clicking on the FB for Android account type appears to do nothing. Also, for any other apps that didn't come stock with the phone, they also can't seem to setup new accounts. Twitter is the only exception for this behavior. The official Twitter for Android app does appear to bring up a next screen when you choose that type.
Is it that Twitter is implementing some API the rest are missing? All of the example sync adapters I can find have this behavior where nothing happens when you try to use their functionality of "Add an account." Why is selecting those account types a no-op instead of bringing up the usual credential input screen that normally follows selecting a type of account?

Sep 23, 2011I just got my bionic yesterday and I have downloaded the Facebook for Android app but my facebook contact pictures have not synced with my contacts at all. I had an OG Droid and I loved the fact that everyone's pictures were just brought in. I have signed into the same account on Motorola's Facebook app as well as the Facebook for Android.

Feb 21, 2012For no apparent reason my screen won't auto rotate in apps. It does auto rotate when docked. I've switched the auto rotate in settings on and off several times, pulled the battery, even installed an auto rotate switch app...nothing. It's really tough to read my news feeds when I can't rotate and zoom.

Sep 30, 2011So yesterday I was using Facebook on my Bionic for a good half hour to 40 min. After I was done I put the phone in my pocket and went on my way. About an hour later I take out my phone to use it and upon waking up the phone, there was a pop up box on the screen stating that the Facebook app was either not responding or has been running for an extended period of time would you like to terminate the app? I click on the button to kill it off and that was that.
Has anyone ever had this happen on their phone? In all the years I've owned an Android phone I have never seen something like this, is this Moto's app killer? I know I do not have any apps listed in the apps to kill in the moto app killer so I'm not sure why this pop up came up.
Motorola Bionic :: Facebook Videos Won't Play With Droid Video Player
Sep 10, 2011Tried Facebook application, tried Facebook mobile and both gave me the same error.
Error
File cannot be displayed or played.
It also gave me the option to play with QuickPic which also gave me another error:
Cannot play video
Sorry, this video cannot be played.
I tried it on several videos one of which I uploaded from my phone and my wife could play it fine with her Thunderbolt and was quick to say it was because her phone was better than mine.

Feb 15, 2012When you upload a photo from your phone to FB for example, do you notice that it uploads a very small compressed image? For example, using the native Gallery quick upload feature, i'm alerted that the photo is 2MB and needs to upload over WiFi, so it uploads. But then that same pic on FB ends up being only around 86KB. Uploading straight through the FB app is better, but still only around 325KB for the same image file. Is there any way around this at all?

Feb 10, 2012I've had my Bionic for a couple weeks now and love 99% of it. My problem is when I try to use hands free calling with my Clarion CX609 head unit, the microphone does not connect. I hear the call through the speakers as expected but the phone is still using the built in microphone. After the OTA release of 5.9.902 I still don't have connectivity to my external microphone.I had a Blackberry Tour and it connected and worked perfectly fine. I would think my Bionic would work in the same manner only better.

Jan 3, 2012So i am on my 4th bionic it seems that my signal is always weak. The signal bar in batter use stats is always yellow and grey rarely green. My battery dies faster after update 50% only 4 hours off charger. The thing getting to the most is when i pull phone out of pocket and unlock it the data never works i tried everything rebooting or airplane mode do not fix it. I usually have to pull battery. I did factory reset twice since update. Does this mean i have get #5 ordered for me?

Oct 21, 2012Been trying to sign in for a few weeks, but I keep getting told my account has been upgraded to a MotoCast ID. That's very nice and all, but I never get any e-mail from Motorola, even though I'm told my validation will be sent to my e-mail address (listed as on file). I had to create a new MotoCast ID (with a different e-mail address) in order to post to ask this question and for help, as I've requested a password reset a few times and none of them go to my e-mail.My old ID was part of the Motorola Feedback Network and contains the IMEI of my phone, and everything I'd need; this makes me think I could even have been invited into the soak test for the Bionic, but not received any e-mails (I was in at least one previous soak test). Can someone let me know how I can get my old account restored? This is kind of a big deal to me, and (by my understanding) was also a source of frustration the last time Motorola changed the way accounts worked.

Sep 19, 2011I am getting through setting up my corporate sync> I can get through the following setup steps:
Open Applications tray, select My Accounts
Select Add Account
You will be at the Set-Up accounts menu with several other social network icons
Tap on Corporate Sync:
Enter: Domain nameuser name
Enter Password
Use secure server should be checked.
Enter Email address
Enter Exchange Server Address
Tap on Next to submit settings.
Handset will check with server and verify if successful. If you receive error could not auto detect server, touch OK to manually enter the server name. It then appears that I have connected to my exchange. I can then open up the email account settings and review/change the settings and I will always get the prompt that the update was successful. The connection error only appears when I open the account to check the inbox. The refresh symbol keeps spinning and eventually times out with the connection error.

Sep 15, 2011I've been using my Bionic for about 24 hrs now (pretty heavy useage) and only 3 items show up in the "Battery and Data Manager":
Southwest Airlines App (96%)
Cell Standby (2%)
Phone Idle (2%)
That's it. I've used about 30 different apps and I've had WiFi on and off, I've been on LTE and switched to CDMA only for a bit. I've tried out the GPS, used Google Talk, the browser and a bunch of other stuff that I know takes up battery life and I want to know what is killing the battery? Is there a fix for the Battery and Data Manager or somewhere else on the phone I can look for this info?
