For no apparent reason my screen won't auto rotate in apps. It does auto rotate when docked. I've switched the auto rotate in settings on and off several times, pulled the battery, even installed an auto rotate switch app...nothing. It's really tough to read my news feeds when I can't rotate and zoom.

Starting (I think) yesterday, it is very slow.As an example, after I enter my 4 digit code, it sits for a second or two before I shows me the home screen.I also noticed that when I come back in, it's always on the main screen. It used to be one the screen that was showing when I turned it off.I was thinking it is probably some app update I got, but the homescreen thing makes me think not.Short of a master reset, does anyone have any ideas as to what might be happening, or how to trace it?
View 6 Replies View RelatedIm having the same issue as a lot of other people (so i read). Mine has progressively gotten worse. My data connection shows active (sometimes it doesnt) but I cannot transfer data. After multiple restarts/battery pulls, i have data connection but NO app will transfer data except the web browser and dolphin. Even Gmail will not sync. So i can surf the web, but cant check my gmail app, pageonce, etc, etc. Wifi/bluetooth work fine. MOST of the time I can still text / make calls but not always.
I am hesitant to do a factory reset as the last time i did this, it did not change the problem and i was stuck with nothing because i had no data connection to connect to my google account with (nor wifi, i was on vacation).
I have paired my Bionic with our courdless phone - Panasonic KX-TG6581 - The cordless phone with bluetooth link works like a headphone device, and calls can be answered on the cordless phone while at home.
My problem is that the Bionic does not reconnect to the phone after a Bionic power cycle - I have to go back to the bluetooth device on the Bionic and hit connect.
My Motorola Droid worked perfectly with this device
Firstly, The Voice talk section just keeps popping up, also a disclaimer from Samsung about Vlingo comes up quite a bit! Also even though I don't have auto rotate on, the screen keeps rotating around which is quite annoying! It freezes quite a bit as well. And the battery doesn't seem to charge as well. Also when I lock the screen and write in the pattern to open it, it has stoped working on occasion.Now the main difference I've noticced is that ther seem to be loadfs of apps afrer appearing on my phone which I never downloaded suchas:ChocoEUKorcom.samsung.app.playreadycom.samsung.InputEventAppcom.sec.android.app.Icdtestcom.sec.android.app.screencom.sec.android.app.smtsetEncryptAppAnd more and more!!!!! I have tried to delete or uninstall them but they won't let me! And I am worried because it says these can access all personal data such as services that cost me money as directly calling pone numbers, sending texts etc!

I got the Bionic on the launch date, but hadn't gotten around to testing the camcorder capabilities. I tested it last night and was a bit annoyed by the autofocus. I tried shooting the inside of my bedroom, but the autofocus kept engaging every 2 seconds. In effect, it made the whole video choppy as the screen zoomed in and out slightly every couple of seconds. To verify, I held the camcorder as straight as possible and focused on a plain white wall (so it wasn't an issue of excessive movement on the screen). I recorded in both 720p and 1080p using the default camcorder settings (no flash, no color effects).
I was using the stock camcorder app and have not installed any 3rd party apps for the camera or camcorder. The room was lit with artificial lights and was neither overly bright no overly dark. I am going to test it again outside in the sun to see if the same thing happens.Is this something that you are seeing as well, and could there be a fix? I still have about 10 more days to return this phone, and of all the seemingly "little" things that bug me about this phone (screen, battery life while idle, poor picture quality), this one is probably going to bug me the most.
My email suddenly has stopped being forwarded to my phone, a feature I think known as data push. In settings, I see that data push is not supported for my email account but I can't understand what happened because all my emails have been forwarding to my phone for a year and then suddenly stopped.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI activated my phone 3 hours ago. Browser works fine in 4g mode. I have been unable to download a single app from the market. Every app I try returns, "Download was unsuccessful, please try again." I have turned the phone off and on again, no luck. I have checked my google synch to make sure it's working, all 4 categories synch (i am also receiving my emails.) I have gone into settings and checked "data saver." It was off by default. I turned it on, went to the market, and attempted to download an app. It said something to the effect of "your app will be qued for download." Before I could even return to settings to turn off data saver and see if it worked, I received the same error message (download was unsucessful, please try again." I have tried this with multiple apps, including both apps I had on my previous phone and apps I have never downloaded before. In "my apps" it shows the two apps I purchased on my previous device, but none of the free ones.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe Apps button (lower right button) on the home screen is different than on the DX. On the DX it always (almost) launched the "All Apps" group. On the Bionic it launches the most recently viewed group. Since I have set up groups on my home screen this renders the Apps button useless since it is always showing me the last viewed group. Now I have to dedicate a home screen icon to a real "All Apps" group. The old DX functionality was much better.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI tried searching the forums but could not find anything. When I try to uninstall an app through the market it just hangs on the uninstall page. I have the same result in the app menu on the phone itself. The only way to get the market and/or the app menu on the phone to get going again is to reboot. I tried booting into safe mode and uninstalling apps through settings (app menu) but it still just hangs on uninstalling.

when i get an update notice, and go in from that icon, it shows me "google maps", "kindle", and "Internet".
i uninstalled the market and it was fine. (it ended up re-updating itself at some point later.) it happened again. i went into manage apps and cleared the data, and it was fine.
I am trying to troubleshoot and I don't remember what the last few apps are that I installed. Is there any way to show the date and time that an app was installed? It seems that they can only be sorted by size or alphabetically. If not, are there any apps that do this? Is it even possible with android?

Its driving me crazy and I haven't seen a post about it yet... So far my Bionic is ruling me too.
This has happened three times since Thursday, its not the same apps either. I installed the apps on the phone, then they just uninstall themselves. Redwall has done it. Google sky maps have done it. Moviefone has done it. Firefox has done it. Its like it going through my list uninstalling each app in its on time.

The app icons disappear from the app menu and if I have a widget on my homescreen I get a message saying the app isn't installed. When I go into the manage app setting, I can see the apps but their icons don't show. I've had to uninstall them and then reinstall them to get them to work. I guess for now, I won't be moving apps to the sd card, but I'm trying to keep my internal memory free.
