The auto rotate stops working on my RAZR I.I have it checked all the time but the screen just stops auto-rotating. The only way to fix it is to turn it off and back on.It is very annoying and I really want it sorted out.

I've switched the auto rotate in settings on and off several times, pulled the battery, even installed an auto rotate switch app...nothing. It's really tough to read my news feeds when I can't rotate and zoom.

Most of the time I can still click on the icon and it will take me to the app and I can delete the shortcut and re-add it, but sometimes I get a message saying that the app does not exist and I have to reinstall it
View 9 Replies View RelatedFirstly, The Voice talk section just keeps popping up, also a disclaimer from Samsung about Vlingo comes up quite a bit! Also even though I don't have auto rotate on, the screen keeps rotating around which is quite annoying! It freezes quite a bit as well. And the battery doesn't seem to charge as well. Also when I lock the screen and write in the pattern to open it, it has stoped working on occasion.Now the main difference I've noticced is that ther seem to be loadfs of apps afrer appearing on my phone which I never downloaded suchas:ChocoEUKorcom.samsung.app.playreadycom.samsung.InputEventAppcom.sec.android.app.Icdtestcom.sec.android.app.screencom.sec.android.app.smtsetEncryptAppAnd more and more!!!!! View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a weird problem with my E71. Occasionally the contacts search where you start typing a name and the contacts pop up filtered on the home screen just stops working. I can get it working again by disabling and reenabling the feature (by typing something and choosing options>contacts search off; then turning back on).
why it is randomly ceasing to work? It's really annoying to sometimes use it and have it not work and then have to disable and re-enable.
I keep getting an error that says "Unfortunately, Calendar Storage stopped working" or something like that. I have taken off calendars and added them one by one and it keeps doing it.

I am not sure if Moto is aware of the bug introduced in .173. Ever since the OTA a few months back the orientation/rotation sensor randomly stops working. I haven't been able to track it down to any particular app, but instead have a feeling that it's caused by any app that forces a horizontal orientation. I don't want to limit it to just that though, but basically after this bug is triggered, tilting the phone manually into horizontal orientation doesn't rotate the screen and any games/apps that use the tilt sensor stop responding to it completely. I launched Elixir tools while this issue was occurring and in the Sensor section of the app the two sensors that deal with orientation, the orientation and the rotation vector sensors are jumping all over the place. A reboot fixes this for a few days or possibly until i launch an app that triggers this bug and then it's the same thing all over again.

Now, no matter what the brightness widget is set to, when I have my droid docked on the windshield, I can't see the menu(s). Also, the navigation screen is MUCH darker, but managable. Both these changes took place at the same time.

On the HTC Dinc, when reading an article or something on the phone, if you pinched to zoom making the text larger, it would automatically reformat to fit the width of the phone, so you didn't have to scroll right/left to read the entire line. The MAXX HD doesn't seem to do this. If I pinch and zoom in on text, it just makes the text bigger but doesn't reformat it to fit the width of the phone, so I have to scroll left/right to read the entire line.

My screen will not auto-rotate when I move the phone.If I open an app or watch a video that is in landscape it till rotate, but when I close the app/video the screen will not rotate back.I have to turn off the screen, rotate the phone and the unlock the phone to get the screen to rotate.I have my display settings set to auto-rotate.I have this issue using Blur launcher, GoLauncher, and ADW.

View 3 Replies View RelatedXperia Neo V. The Wifi function suddenly shut down tonight after I activated the 'Auto Synchronize' function in the settings. It appears that everytime after I try to turn the Wifi on, the screen is not responding and there isn't any wireless signals it can search (while there's actually several wifi signals), it's like the phone is dead, and I had to wait for like 10 seconds before the it started to respond. I tried to turn the phone off and restart it, but it didn't work. Other functions works well, only that I can't connect to internet since the wifi is not working.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got the Droid RAZR HD MAXX, and was wondering if anyone else is experiencing stuttering on the home screen. Specifically, it happens when swiping to the Quick Settings and Manage Pages screens. After I swipe once to the screen, it seems to be smooth when going back and forth, it's just the initial showing of the screen when I notice it. Then going to different apps and then back to the home screen, I'll see it happen again. It's not a deal breaker, but it just makes the phone seem "slower" than it actually is. Also, the Circles widget seems to look choppy at some points as well, during the weather animation or when flipping the clock.
View 12 Replies View RelatedThe screen goes to sleep after the specified time (default of 30 seconds, I have not changed that) even when on a call (both normal calling or when on speaker) Problem is, the only way to activate the screen again is to hit the power key, but this also hangs up the call. Is this a feature/bug, and is there a way around this issue? I don't really want to change the time to sleep to a longer time, as this would waste the battery for other use.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSomething real strange happens when I turn my phone off and on again or if it reboots for any reason.Three (all Android Market apps) of my shortcut icons on the home screen are replaced by a blue generic looking icon. They still work as shortcut though. The way to fix this is to delete them from the home screen and then set up a new shortcut: The app icon shows up as expected.......... until the next time I turn off my Razr. Annoying to say the least.

The problem seems to be that 'dim' function before the screen sleeps is actually brightening the screen. I'm guessing system is not checking the current brightness of the screen. It would be great if this could be rectified.

Once I transfer language from eng to other language with the keyboard shortcut (alt+enter ) the auto text stops working. Furthermore, the option box just disappears from the menu (options - text and languages ) !. Reset by battery removal fixes the problem.But, onces you repeat the above action the auto text complete disappears again...Some bug is there.... tried it with all 5 devices of my office.I contacted my provider- they were not aware of the problem and I demonstrated it to them. They dont know how to solve it...

At minimum, I would like a shortcut to the sepecific data file. Example; I use a simple Microsoft word calendar template to do scheduling for the month. I email the file to myself and save it to the messaging folder. Everytime I need to check who is working, etc....I have to go through the "My Files" shortcut, messaging, then the file I need. Would like to just save the data file or a direct link to it on my homescreen very similar to (gulp) windows.

It has been happening on and off for the past few weeks, but I dismissed it because it really doesn't cause me any issues.When wake the phone for the first time in the morning (using the side button above the volume), I'm met with a pixellated and hard to read screen. To fix this, I simply press the sleep button again, then wake it. The screen problem won't recur for the rest of the day, but is likely to happen very first thing the next morning.I've attached two photos, one of the screen problem, and another of how the screen looks normally. You can see there is a big difference.
Personally, I'm not that bothered by the problem the phone works fine in all other respects and the screen is obviously fine. I don't know if it's a software bug, or if I have some kind of hardware problem that could escalate.I'd rather not be without my phone, I really like it, and would be willing to put up with the problem if it doesn't get any worse. But, perhaps you think I should get it checked out sooner rather than later?My partner bought this phone on the same day, and he hasn't had the problem once.
My main home button stops working weekly! So annoying... I have to press it really hard and sometimes it works again... However after 24 hours or so it works again!

I have noticed that my screen rotation no longer works on my Atrix. The phone still detects the correct orientation (AndroSensor app's 'Orientation' degrees change correctly as I rotate the phone). Games that rely on the accelerometer still function normally. The operating system just seems to do nothing when I rotate. Browser doesn't go to landscape, and other apps that normally can switch to landscape, just don't. The setting to Auto-rotate is checked.I have pulled the battery, I have rebooted, I have tried changing settings, rebooting, changing them again, but I can't get it to work as it did a few days ago. Searching this sort of problem online seems to come up with similar issues with other people across a myriad of different Android devices, yet no one really has any solution on how to fix besides doing a 'factory reset'. A factory reset doesn't seem to be a good fix for this to me.
The closest reasonable explanation I can come up with is that with the added Motorola software, there might possibly be another 'rotation' setting behind the scenes that we can't access that got out of sync with the normal Android rotation settings (read on how this might be an explanation for the problem on Samsung phones), but who knows what is really going on. Very annoying though, since the phone sensors appear to be working properly. I can't even write a simple text message in landscape mode because of this, making it frustratingly difficult with the small on-screen keys on the regular mode.
I have a new issue that popped up today. While scrolling through my home screens, my phone will not jump to the main screen by pushing the Home button. It was working fine until about 1:00 today. I have also noticed that double tapping the home key brings up voice commands. Is there any way to turn this off?
