Motorola Droid Bionic :: Can't (download) Apps From The Market
Nov 6, 2011I can't dl apps from the market. I did power off the phone and reset on it. I tried to use WiFi and I can dl apps using WiFi.I called Verizon my internet is working, the browser is working but when I use my Data connetion I can go to the Market dl an apps a green arrow showed up and followed by a triangle with an exclaimation point. It say's that I need to connect to my WiFi to dl apps.

Nov 17, 2011Im having the same issue as a lot of other people (so i read). Mine has progressively gotten worse. My data connection shows active (sometimes it doesnt) but I cannot transfer data. After multiple restarts/battery pulls, i have data connection but NO app will transfer data except the web browser and dolphin. Even Gmail will not sync. So i can surf the web, but cant check my gmail app, pageonce, etc, etc. Wifi/bluetooth work fine. MOST of the time I can still text / make calls but not always.
I am hesitant to do a factory reset as the last time i did this, it did not change the problem and i was stuck with nothing because i had no data connection to connect to my google account with (nor wifi, i was on vacation).

Dec 15, 2011Since my successful pushed software update, My Bionic has tried to download some update (that I have no idea what it is, I can't see it), the download failed two times. Now I am getting an Authentication Error from My E-Mail Provider.

Feb 9, 2012I haven't been pushed updates 5.9.901 or 5.9.902 from Verizon. Is there anyway I can manually install these? I have tried going into settings and pulling them down but it says my phone is up to date even though I have 5.5.893 currently.

Dec 21, 2011I activated my phone 3 hours ago. Browser works fine in 4g mode. I have been unable to download a single app from the market. Every app I try returns, "Download was unsuccessful, please try again." I have turned the phone off and on again, no luck. I have checked my google synch to make sure it's working, all 4 categories synch (i am also receiving my emails.) I have gone into settings and checked "data saver." It was off by default. I turned it on, went to the market, and attempted to download an app. It said something to the effect of "your app will be qued for download." Before I could even return to settings to turn off data saver and see if it worked, I received the same error message (download was unsucessful, please try again." I have tried this with multiple apps, including both apps I had on my previous phone and apps I have never downloaded before. In "my apps" it shows the two apps I purchased on my previous device, but none of the free ones.

Sep 12, 2011The Apps button (lower right button) on the home screen is different than on the DX. On the DX it always (almost) launched the "All Apps" group. On the Bionic it launches the most recently viewed group. Since I have set up groups on my home screen this renders the Apps button useless since it is always showing me the last viewed group. Now I have to dedicate a home screen icon to a real "All Apps" group. The old DX functionality was much better.

Dec 24, 2012I tried searching the forums but could not find anything. When I try to uninstall an app through the market it just hangs on the uninstall page. I have the same result in the app menu on the phone itself. The only way to get the market and/or the app menu on the phone to get going again is to reboot. I tried booting into safe mode and uninstalling apps through settings (app menu) but it still just hangs on uninstalling.

when i get an update notice, and go in from that icon, it shows me "google maps", "kindle", and "Internet".
i uninstalled the market and it was fine. (it ended up re-updating itself at some point later.) it happened again. i went into manage apps and cleared the data, and it was fine.

It seems that they can only be sorted by size or alphabetically. If not, are there any apps that do this? Is it even possible with android?

Sep 12, 2011This has happened three times since Thursday, its not the same apps either. I installed the apps on the phone, then they just uninstall themselves. Redwall has done it. Google sky maps have done it. Moviefone has done it. Firefox has done it. Its like it going through my list uninstalling each app in its on time.

Sep 9, 2011I'm having issues when I move apps to the sd card using the installed software. The app icons disappear from the app menu and if I have a widget on my homescreen I get a message saying the app isn't installed. When I go into the manage app setting, I can see the apps but their icons don't show. I've had to uninstall them and then reinstall them to get them to work. I guess for now, I won't be moving apps to the sd card, but I'm trying to keep my internal memory free.

Dec 4, 2011I have a variety of apps that create export or backup files. How can the apps access the SD card storage directly? I recently replaced (under warrenty) my Bionic and it was a pain. I backed up everthing (app data that is) thinking the "backup" was going to the SD card, since all I got was a file address (or name). Once I moved the battery, SIM and SD card from one phone to the other, I realized that all the files were on the internal staroage and still on the old phone, not the SD card. This meant moving all of the hardware back to the old phone, finding all of the files stored on the internal storage, moving them to the SD card, switching everything back to the new phone and moving the files from the SD card to the internal storage - all the time hoping I got them in the right place (which wasn't necessarily the case all of the time).

I have been using Zumocast, but that's only a one way deal. You can stream and download files from PC onto the Bionic, but not vice versa.Also, I tried to download a 1.4 gig mp4 file but it doesn't fully download, and makes my notification area on my Bionic force close and the whole phone just wigs out and requires a reboot. So Zumocast needs to do some updates in order to support large file transfer.
Anyway, I am looking for a way to transfer files from my phone to my computer(s) wirelessly. I don't always have my USB cable around.

However, I can't find a way to do this on the Bionic. There's no option in accounts > Gmail. I HATE having the emails strung together like they were text messages. One of the major issues is losing attachments (ex: photos) in earlier emails once additional ones have been added to the "thread."

Spoke to the developer of Freecaddie and he checked and it is suppose to save courses to SD but Bionic saves to Internal Memory. With My Tracks even when I pick "Save to SD card" is saves it to Internal Memory. What is up with that and is there a way to correct it?I know my SD card is working because I have moved pics and music to it without a problem.
