Since this morning my BB Curve 8520 has been displaying GSM. I have tried turning it on and off again and manually searching for networks but it still says GSM. I am not receiving important texts and emails because of it.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I go into the text messages app, it only shows the current day's messages and the time that I received them. No contact name, no number. I've played around with it a bit, but cant figure out where to even begin addressing this.
I recently switched out my Curve 9350 under warranty, since the old one was overheating and draining the battery. The first one I had didn't have this issue, from the get-go it showed contact names, pictures, and broke the messages down into days, but I could scroll and view all of them. My new one has only shown my text messages in the way I described above.
I have 2 email accounts linked to my BlackBerry. I tried using the runaround, but I still cannot receive any emails. It used to work fine.

She is receiving emails on her ISP web mail and on her Outlook 2003 client on her laptop. All her setting remain the same as before and are the same aas mine (except for the email address)

When viewing "Messages" im getting Emails but its also displaying BBM messages too, the help files say check Filters but i dont even have that as an option when clicking Menu > Options. I just want Emails displayed in messages nothing else, SMS and MMS is together in another view, which is fine.
I just got the BB Curve 8520 and I can send MMS messages successfully, but no matter how many times someone sends me a MMS, it does not make it to me. I tried changing my firewall and MMS settings, but this has still left me without any incoming MMS messages. It is supposed to be included in my plan with Rogers.

Possibly text messages as well, but not sure.Basically, all my emails and messages arrive at once, usually after a long delay. Anyone know how I sort this problem out?I need my emails for work, so it's not very good! On a separate issue, when I use blackberry messenger, often I can not read what I am typing. I just is blank, but i can carry on typing and when I send whatever I have typed appears. Problem 1:
New messages wont show up, I have to go into general messages and select "View Folder" > "SMS Inbox"
I have it set to combined simply because I just want all my messages in the main message folder but whenever a new message comes in I have to go into the SMS inbox folder.
Problem 2:
I'm having the same trouble with my email, I keep getting the notification come up for a new email but it is no-where to be found.
Problem 3:
I've set my blackberry to the Vibrate profile, the only time it seems to vibrate is when I get a new facebook notification and thats it.
I use my BB Curve 9300 for work (Outlook 2007) and for personal use. My emails are being deleted after they are 7 days old and then when I scroll thru my emails it goes to weird dates with only 1 email there. Also, my texts are being deleted after only a few days...so frustrating!!! I have to be able to go back thru my emails. I went and looked at my memory thinking I was out of memory, but I have 3.0 gb of memory avaliable.

I checked my voice mail, but the symbol did not go away. Since then I have not received any text messages. The text messages I send are getting through, but the ones other people send me aren't. Thinking my inbox might be full, I deleted a few conversations, to no effect. My phone is basically new and I haven't made any adjustments to it. My phone gets text messages and can receive calls at certain time but after a while if you try to make a call or send a text it won't go thru even though I have full bars or close to it.
Its weird I have service for like half an hour then suddently it stops. I have asked people with blackberrys who have verizon in the area and they aren't having any problems.
I have tried taking out the battery/Reset. It worked a few times but these last few days it has not solved the problem.
I already spoke to Verizon and they tried to do some troubleshooting with me.

Im in an area where I can't call 228 so even when my phone is working I cant update the software.

I noticed that when I switch the phone on after a period off, it adds new messages and shows them as "new" (with that sparkly sign at the corner of it). I wonder whether there is a way of deleting this misleading icon from the home-screen?
