BB Curve :: Cannot Receive MMS On 8520 - Got Text But No Pics
Jun 15, 2011
Rockin' a BB Curve 8520 on Cincinnati Bell Wireless. All of the sudden I can't receive MMS messages. Got text, no pics, et al. Get a "cannot retrieve error". Is it my phone, carrier, or me?
Since this morning my BB Curve 8520 has been displaying GSM. I have tried turning it on and off again and manually searching for networks but it still says GSM. I am not receiving important texts and emails because of it.
Recently my phone (BB Bold 9930) stopped receiving pics that have been sent to me via text message. The messages don't even come through without the pic, anyone seen this and have a solution?
I have recently changed from the bb 8520 to the bb 9300 & cannot find my pictures that were on my memory card, my songs & videos are there but no pics.
I hooked up my bb to my laptop and was messing around with the sd card so clicked "blackberry" in computer(vista) and then i hid the "blackberry" folder with my music pictures podcasts ringtones videos everything in it. And when i go to unhide in my blackberry the checkbox is grey and it won't let me unhide it. please help me i really need to recover that folder.
I have a 8520 T-Mobile and everytime I get a new email and or text it rads it automatically. I want it to stop .How do i do it ?It is disturbing i managed to turn off the text but the mail keeps on doing it .
I just got the BB Curve 8520 and I can send MMS messages successfully, but no matter how many times someone sends me a MMS, it does not make it to me. I tried changing my firewall and MMS settings, but this has still left me without any incoming MMS messages. It is supposed to be included in my plan with Rogers.
i just got a blackberry this afternoon, and my dad tried to ring me to make sure that it worked and sounded okay. when he rang it said that i had rejected the call but infact i never even got a call in the first place. my sister then tried it aswell and the same happens.
I have recently received my new 8520 and after a few issues finally managed to set up emails. Since then my wife's 8520 has stopped receiving email. She is receiving emails on her ISP web mail and on her Outlook 2003 client on her laptop. All her setting remain the same as before and are the same aas mine (except for the email address)
Although I can send SMS I have recently stopped receiving SMS on my phone - I cannot find any previous SMS messages sent / received. I can receive emails.I have rebooted my phone - I have deleted apps & none of this has re-instated my SMS.SMS doesn't show in my options / advance options.
BB Curve 8520 wont let me make calls or receive them. I get this message come up "Supplementary Service Error:General Error". What do I do its driving me barmy?
my phone won't call out or receive calls. tried everything. connects to web and sends and receives text messages. gives me a message of (sorry emergency calls only) also the call icon is missing in the contacts menu.
For some unknown reason, I cannot receive calls and smses as well as make calls and send smses. When I try it keeps saying call failed. When I check for airtime SUPPLEMENTARY SERVICE ERROR - GENERAL ERROR. I have put my sim card into another. Phone and was able to make n receive calls and smses. But when I put my sim into my blackberry I am not allowed to. My blackberry is vodafone I am currently using a cellc sim card in it. The phone has worked fine from the time I bought it in december 2011 till september 2012.
I'm using curve 8520. I'm from uae and previously I'm under du network. I replace my simple card with etisalat but now I'm not receiving calls. I can make a call but I can't receive it. When my friend calls me it will ring once only then disconnects. But my phone is not ringing. I will just see somany missed calls
I've tried everything from removing all my email addresses, to rebooting, to updating, troubleshooting, you name it, I've done it ~ so I think? I cannot seem to receive any emails on my phone. This stopped abruptly about one week ago.
I am able to send files from my curve to my wifes sony mobile via blutooth no probs. However, when she tries to send me a file she gets the message connection failed retry?
I have had BB's before but always on BIS. I now have a 8530 for work that is BES. Is there a way for me to force a send/receive via the BB? I have looked everywhere I could think of on the phone and also searched Google.
I just bought my 8520 last week and this afternoon I was not able to make and receive calls using my new blackberry. I took out the battery and sim card and waited for about a minute before putting them back in. It seemed to be working this time, but I just wanted to know what has happened to my phone. Can anyone shed some light on it so that I can avoid this problem in future?

I bought two new blackberry 8520 from ebay from different sellers. One unbranded and unlocked, the other branded and locked to Vodaphone. The unlocked one works fine with my tesco sim, no problems. The branded/locked to Vodaphone one was unlocked this morning with a code I paid for and got off the internet and not through Vodaphone. It now shows the phone is disabled and it recognises the Tesco sim (although still branded), but all calls and messages fail when sent and if I try to ring it it goes straight to voicemail.
Is it the phone or the sim? The phone was an unwanted gift so the seller is not sure if the phone's pin was registered. Tesco have asked vodaphone to release the pin which will happen in the next 24-48 hours but will this make any difference? Some of the forums with the same query as mine seem conflicting, i.e. release the pin to get access to BBM and internet but not a direct problem with calling and texting.
