I havent had my blackberry curve too long but as of yesterday it wont alert me to text messages anymore. i had set it to chime and vibrate before, which it did. but now the only indicatior i have is the little red light. iv checked all the obvious thing in settings but nothing works now please someone tell me how to fix this, its pretty pointless if you dont know when you have a message!

I set a text message to custom sound now when i change all my text message sounds the custom one wont change to new sound i have to manually change it. Is there a default sound for text messages for the curve 8530 so i could change it back to default sound then when i change text sounds all contacts will change and i wont have to change some maually

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to make some ringtones to use alerts. These mp3's are very short, like 1-2 seconds long. So far, I am unable to even play a 1-2 second mp3 in the media player. And when I save it as a ringtone, it doesn't play either. I am able to play a longer mp3 like a song just fine, it's just the short ones that are causing problems. Is there some special way I need to save these file so that they can be played on the BB?

I used to get a SMS message everytime I got a voicemail but somehow it got turned off. Now all I get is the little voicemail icon at the top of my screen but no sound or vibration or anything. I've been looking for an answer to my issue on the forums but it seems like I'm the only person that likes the SMS alert, everybody else wants to turn it off.

My screen has the history of every text message sent between me and the reciepient as if we are in a chat screen. On the curve 8330 all you had to do was go to options-sms-number of previous items and change the setting. Under the help option and in the user manual for the 8530 it says to follow those exact directions but for some reason that option is not available for me when I go to options-sms. I contacted my service provider Verizon and they stated the option isnt available on this model. So why would it be under the help menu on the phone. Can anyone help me I hate to read days and days of text messages between me and another person if I make a mistake and scroll up. All I want to do is see the previous text message in the new text message screen.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSince the last Verizon OS update I did Thursday, my 8530 can't sent SMS messages. It can get them, but not send. BBM is working and so is internet. Haven't tried MMS. I did a *228 update and registered with BB.... still not working. I feel like I've lost a limb not being able to text. It's forcing me to actually talk to people.

Is there a setting where every text conversation is by itself not tied in to previos texts?
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo when I go to search for a certain text within an SMS conversation, it says its "not found", but when I scroll for a really long time to find the text, its there? Does the Find feature in SMS convos not search throughout the whole conversation?
Also, when I use the global search option on the home screen to find text, it also finds it but when I select it, it brings me to the end of the conversation, not where the message was found.

I set the inbox settings so that some of the email addresses do not show in the Messages inbox, however, they still show a small icon notification at the top tray when there are unread messages there.
How can I customize the unread messages notification tray icon so that it doesn't show unread emails from certain email accounts?
I have two questions:
1) I can't seem to figure out how to set text message tones for each individual contact for my 8520? Is this possible? (I have the T-mobile 8520 Curve if that makes a difference?)
2) How do I update my operating system for my 8520, from the T-mobile network?

View 14 Replies View RelatedOK out of no where my 8520 started now showing text or notifing me of texts it just shows the little text notification that I have a text.When I go to read it it's not there.I'm not using the default theme.When I switch to the default theme it throws everything off.This phone is brand new I had to get a new curve for a different reason.I'm stuck with this for 2 years.

They use to but now when I go to like you tube, or nothingtoxic.com, or even my video recordings it won't play it says an error has occurred media attempt failed. I use to restart my BB and that would help for a lil while now it doesn't work at all. How do I fix this?
View 4 Replies View Relatedmy phone is approx 2 years old and a few months ago developed a glitch in that it shows the number of the text messages I have, and the number is increasing despite the fact that I have deleted all texts from the phone. I noticed that when I switch the phone on after a period off, it adds new messages and shows them as "new" (with that sparkly sign at the corner of it). I wonder whether there is a way of deleting this misleading icon from the home-screen?
