I'm new to Blackberry and to a Smartphone in general.How the heck do I turn on an alert tone for when I receive an email? It should be simple...but for the life of me I can't figure it out!
View 6 RepliesI am trying to make some ringtones to use alerts. These mp3's are very short, like 1-2 seconds long. So far, I am unable to even play a 1-2 second mp3 in the media player. And when I save it as a ringtone, it doesn't play either. I am able to play a longer mp3 like a song just fine, it's just the short ones that are causing problems. Is there some special way I need to save these file so that they can be played on the BB?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am using a ringtone that came installed on the phone. I have vibrate set to off and I am in the loud profile. When someone calls me, my phone rings once and then there is a long delay before it rings again. My daughter has the Bold and she uses the same ringtone and doesn't have this problem. I have Sprint and she has AT&T if that matters. Thank you for any help you can give me.

oh by the way i dont have a data plan and im using pay as you go.
I used to get a SMS message everytime I got a voicemail but somehow it got turned off. Now all I get is the little voicemail icon at the top of my screen but no sound or vibration or anything. I've been looking for an answer to my issue on the forums but it seems like I'm the only person that likes the SMS alert, everybody else wants to turn it off.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI havent had my blackberry curve too long but as of yesterday it wont alert me to text messages anymore. i had set it to chime and vibrate before, which it did. but now the only indicatior i have is the little red light. iv checked all the obvious thing in settings but nothing works now please someone tell me how to fix this, its pretty pointless if you dont know when you have a message!

Is there a default sound for text messages for the curve 8530 so i could change it back to default sound then when i change text sounds all contacts will change and i wont have to change some maually
View 7 Replies View RelatedFor some reason when a message alert sounds my Blackberry 8520 pauses the media player. It used to just sound the message and carry on playing, but now it freezes the music or podcast until I unpause it. Annoying! Does anyone know how to stop this?

View 11 Replies View RelatedMy 8520 was working fine last night but the battery was down to 10% charge.
Charged the battery up and phone worked fine and I turned it off before going to bed.
The phone turned on fine this morning and was showing a full charge. I did turn it off when I got to work and when I went to turn it back on when I went to lunch I got nothing. The LED glows briefly and faintly when I try to power the phone on.
I tried hooking to my car charger but with the same results.
I have a blackberry curve 8530 and I was wondering if anyone pinkie (a former owner of a pink blackberry pearl)
View 7 Replies View Relatedthe dial tones when typing a phone number on the normal profile of the blackberry is ridiculously loud. You cant keep your headset on or earpiece in without hurting or even damaging your ears. It is extremely annoying to have to take out your earpiece every time you dial someone. Setting the profile to vibrate or silent is no option of course because then you don't hear the phone ring.How do I set the dial tone to silent or much lower volume without reducing the phone ring volume on a BB Bold 9900?

I don't want the keyboard light to turn on when I'm using the device because it wastes battery. And my second and most important question is, why is the battery life so poor? My curve battery get's me through one day, and all I do is SMS, facebook, and IM. I don't use it 24/7 during the day either. I've had to charge it every night! View 7 Replies View RelatedI recenty cleared my phonne with the alt+lglg and cleared some other history stuff, and i seen a thing for memory cleaner and i enabled it and i figured that might save me some time, it prompted me before i closed it that memory cleaner would run when the phone had been rebooted and something else. but now my phone has been rebooted and it wont turn on it just keeps restarting over and over and over again. i left it over nihgt hoping it would be working in the morning and it still rebooted all night.

Its only when i try to access my inbox, yet the the rest of the pages will load (including facebook).I deleted a bunch of pics off my phone and thought if i enabled memory cleaning, it would clear my cache, cookies, etc.
the prompt said it would save changes when the device was turned off and rebooted. I did a battery pull and now what is happening is my issue.
after i pulled the battery, I get a red blink of hte led, then a black screen with a clock in the middle (obviously the loading symbol) and then the screen showing "blackberry" with a loading bar.Once the loading bar is done loading...nothing! It goes back to turning off the device and reloading from the start. It has been doing this for 2 hours and the device will not go to the home screen, it just keeps rebooting itself. I have done 2 or 3 battery pulls now and it keeps doing it. Would it have anything to do with the "memory clean" enablement? or is the peice of cr@p toast now? And have i lost all my contacts??
My wife has a curve 8530 with Verizon, and it wont turn on. All that is happening is the red led light is blinking over and over again. I tried a new battery and that didnt work. Anny suggestions.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have only just started using the Desktop software for my BB Curve 9300. Once I connected I was told that updated software was available for my phone. Once I had done this I noticed that my selection of ring tones had diminished from the ones previously installed with the new phone.Following the instructions for downloading ring tones (Media File - ringtones - select menu - then select Download Ring Tones) I notice that I do not have the option to Download! Even visiting the BB website it still tells me to follow the same instruction!
