BB Tour :: Custom Ring Tones Override Silent Volume Setting
May 9, 2010my BlackBerry Tour has a habit of playing my custom ring tones despite the fact I have the phones volume set to silent in the active profile.This is a behavior I have spent about two hours trying to correct and have been unable to discern a viable solution anywhere. I've got into the settings for the ring tones, theoretically they should be silent along with everything else but it doesn't matter, they continue to play. Normal ring tones do play silently, or rather those numbers to which I have not assigned a custom ring tone.

Samsung :: R355C Sets Customed Ring-tones Back To Default
Mar 27, 2010I recently got the Samsung R355C from Wal-Mart for use with straight talk. I like it so far. I am having one problem with it that I can not seem to find any help or info for. I am using ring-tones I put on the SD card and every time I shut the phone off it sets the ring-tones back to default. I then have to set my ring-tones again. Does anybody know if there is a way around this? It seems like a stupid thing for the phone to do and its a little annoying.

I had to rebuild my media library to get rid of some "ghost " image thumbnails in the gallery. I deleted all data associated with Media Storage and rebooted.
This totally hosed up my Ring/Notification tones. Why should a rebuild of the media library make a difference?

Apr 5, 2011I have only just started using the Desktop software for my BB Curve 9300. Once I connected I was told that updated software was available for my phone. Once I had done this I noticed that my selection of ring tones had diminished from the ones previously installed with the new phone.Following the instructions for downloading ring tones (Media File - ringtones - select menu - then select Download Ring Tones) I notice that I do not have the option to Download! Even visiting the BB website it still tells me to follow the same instruction!

Jul 28, 2010About 6 weeks ago I went out, dropped my phone and the next day I noticed the ringer wasn't working. I pulled the battery after I had no idea what else to do and the ringtones/notifications worked again. However about every 5 or 6 days the same thing happens and I have to pull the battery. I also noticed that when I check the ringtone options whenever the ringtones fail the BB says "invalid ringtone, please choose anther ringtone"could it be that the loudspeaker is loose? It's not busted because it works most of the time and a battery pull seems to solve the issue.Just now I had to pull the battery again to get the ringtones sounding.

Jul 25, 2011I have been trying to set custom ring tones for certain callers. I have tried changing the ring tone by going to Contacts, selecting the contact, and changing the ringtone listed under Custom Ring Tones/Alerts for the contact. My Sound and Alert Profile is set to normal. I have also tried going to Sound and Alert Profile and clicking on Change Sounds and Alerts. From there I have selected Sounds for Contacts and tried to Add Contact Alert. After doing this my phone still rings with the ring tone for the Normal Profile. How can I ensure that the ringtone for the custom alert comes up for these contacts?

Issue: After upgrading to version 4.6.0.282 the ring tone volume is very low, even when the profile setting has the tone set to High I often miss the call, I have tried turning on "Audio Boost" with no change, tried a hard re-boot, no change. Volume of calls are fine, it's the ring tones, I have the same ring tone in use as before the O/S upgrade so this hasn't changed, no other (new) apps have been installed, just the O/S upgraded. I can't find any sort of master volume control setting in any of the forums is there such a setting, how do I get the volumes back to normal?

I did everything that everyone said, made the thing through ituens, under 40 seconds changed it to a m4r file put it in my tunes tab in itunes, and tabs tunes is checked to sync along with everything else but when i sync it my ringtones aren't anywhere please help!!! i need to put ringtones on my phone! I even unchecked the tunes synced my iphone again then checked the tunes tab again and still nothing?

Probably finger trouble.The volume is at maximum.I only have the standard ring tones.I cannot hear them when a call is received and also not when selecting them from Settings/ Tones/ Ring tone/More/Open gallery/Tones/Ring tones.I can hear the tones through the hands free earphone, both when a call is received and when selecting them .Being able to hear the keypad tones, with the handset not plugged in, I think means the mechanical speaker cutoff is not involved.

Mar 31, 2010I recently upgraded my 9700 to 5.0.0.545. Ever since then, my ring tones have been kinda' messed up. First off, when I upgraded it changed all my ring tones which is fine because I remember them all. But now when I go to change them, it only let's me choose music as ring tones. All the standard ones that came with the phone are missing, and those are what I was using. Is anyone else experiencing this problem or know how to fix it? I don't like the ring tones it's using and would really like to change them back to what they were.

Jul 27, 2010One thing I have noticed with my new iPhone 4 (and I am guessing it is an iOS 4.0 thing) is that my ring volume affects the alarm volume. On my 3Gs, it did not matter what my ring volume was set at, when I set the alarm to go off, it played at full volume which I like. I am always changing the volume on my ringer depending on where I am so now I find that sometimes it is on low when an alarm goes off and now I don't hear it.
