BB Tour 9630 :: Reset All Custom Ring Tones
Feb 14, 2010I have 600+ contacts. I have set a default ringtone for everyone but not everyone rings with this tone? How can i set everyone for this ringtone or reset the ringtones?

May 9, 2010Okay folks the problem here is exactly what it sounds like: my BlackBerry Tour has a habit of playing my custom ring tones despite the fact I have the phones volume set to silent in the active profile.This is a behavior I have spent about two hours trying to correct and have been unable to discern a viable solution anywhere. I've got into the settings for the ring tones, theoretically they should be silent along with everything else but it doesn't matter, they continue to play. Normal ring tones do play silently, or rather those numbers to which I have not assigned a custom ring tone. Again this is a problem for me at work, so I'd really appreciate any guidance, it has been very difficult to find.

Jul 6, 2010I've figured out how to quickly change from a ring tone to vibrate by holding the # key, however I still get ring tones when I get a facebook message. I can't have my phone go off all day at work so how do I put FB messages on vibrate as well?
This may be the same question, but is there one quick fix to silence absolutely everything (ring, text message, FB messages)?

I have tried changing the ring tone by going to Contacts, selecting the contact, and changing the ringtone listed under Custom Ring Tones/Alerts for the contact. My Sound and Alert Profile is set to normal. I have also tried going to Sound and Alert Profile and clicking on Change Sounds and Alerts. From there I have selected Sounds for Contacts and tried to Add Contact Alert. After doing this my phone still rings with the ring tone for the Normal Profile. How can I ensure that the ringtone for the custom alert comes up for these contacts?

But I don't want to have a custom text ringer for those people. Whenever I set a custom ringer for those contacts, it automatically changes the text ringer as well. Is there any way to only give them a custom call-tone and leave all text messages as the same tone?

May 19, 2010I got my first BlackBerry a couple of months ago, the Tour 9630 with Verizon, which I've loved to far, except. Last week I created a couple of ring tones from two mp3 files and downloaded them in my BlackBerry without setting up with any feature, but they set themselves up as regular ring tones and I cannot stop them from playing now!
Since the day after I downloaded them, every time I've received a new e-mail, I've gotten my regular ring tone (GungHo) and then custom ring tone #1 starts playing and is unstoppable unless I completely turn off the BlackBerry! So I deleted it from the My Ring Tones folder, but that hasn't changed a thing. I've tried to change my regular e-mail ring tone and the change got implemented, so I get the new ring tone I've just set, but I still get custom ring tone # 1 right after! And it is almost 1 minute long!
Other weird thing, custom ring tone # 2 has started playing every time I hang up my phone! Who needs that?! I haven't deleted that one yet from the My Ring Tones folder because I'm not sure if that'll help, but this is extremely frustrating.
BB Tour 9630 :: Ring Tone Has Changed
Jan 7, 2010I have a Storm2 and my wife has a Tour. I need some help with hers. All of a sudden her phone ring tone has switched from "calypso" to "bb pro1". When you check her settings in profiles it still shows "calypso"! I have battery pulled and tried to change the tone to almost every other tone on the phone with no luck.

May 10, 2010I recently downloaded the new update for my Blackberry Tour, and I have noticed that my phone is not remembering its settings (im assuming). When I have my phone holstered, it only vibrates twice and does not ring (though I have it set to Always for the ringtone) for my MMS/SMS messages. When its out of holster, it will only do the default text messing sound. I am not sure how to fix this though I have rebooted it twice in attempts for the settings.

Apr 3, 2010I'm about to lose it completely with this error. I've tried so many "fixes" but none of them work. Here's my problem:
My phone loads up and:
I get an old background I've never used
I cannot make a call
I cannot open my email
I cannot open my text
I cannot open my voicemail
I cannot open my browser
All attempts to do so freeze my phone and result in the unhappy "App Error 523" with the only option to reset.
It gets better...
Battery Pulls do nothing.
All attempts to connect to my PC result in the unhappy error.
All attempts to do a diagnosis result in the unhappy error.
I really have no idea what to do and all technical support from blackberry leads to dead ends and no result.
BB Tour 9630 :: Error 503 Reset
Jan 31, 2010Pioneer Tour 9630 I cannot get into the phone for any OS Version, I assume it is relatively current as the phone is less than two months old.
A battery pull did not fix the issue
The apps I loaded were google earth, a GPS Navigation system, ESPN, and weather.
All my phone will do is show a white screen with Error 503 Reset. I have tried taking the battery out and that did not work. All it get is a white screen with a little timer in the middle for 3 or 4 minutes.
It will not connect or do anything with the desktop manager. I have tried the launcher to get it connected, but to no avail.

Apr 20, 2010I had the sotweare problem that everyone has been having lastley yesterday an i couldt fix it in anyway and today i was like wat the heck let me give it another try to i plug my phone in the computer open desktop manager (5.0) an i pressed aplication loader and update softwear an it had some new 5.0 (i already was using 5.0) so i clicked on it and it reset my phone and now it works perfect but im missing my browser.

There is no way to factory reset through the device? Old blackberry devices had this.
Also all I did was upgrade an app through blackberry's app store. How can that cause such a critical issue?

Jul 19, 2010So my Sprint Blackberry Tour 9630 takes on average 13-15 minutes with a battery pull reset. I love the phone, and have no complaints about it except for this issue. I've had plenty of blackberries and this is taking the longest. I have no clue as to why it takes so long - I dont have any apps really installed, and no pictures/music, etc. loaded.
Anyone have any thoughts or ideas how I can make it run faster?This is the stats of my phone:

BB Tour :: 9630 'Insert SIM Card' After Quick Reset
Jun 21, 2010I have a Blackberry tour 9630, and for no logical reason it started saying "insert SIM card" after I reset the phone. I've tried a battery pull, and that did nothing. In fact, I have no idea if my service provider, US Cellular, even uses a SIM card. Is this something I will have to discuss with my service provider or is this something I can fix? I can't seem to even see a SIM card on the phone.

Jan 25, 2010I ran over my Blackberry Tour, rendering the screen unusable.
I can access the device from Desktop Manager, and I can run exe.Autoloader/factoryreset from the Windows command prompt.
However, this does not remove the Verizon phone number from the device. Verizon won't work with the phone because the screen is cracked.
What's the correct way to wipe the Verizon data from the command prompt?
