I have a SGS5 on Verizon wireless with the most recent software update from last week. This morning I changed my phone's battery and my custom ringtones--for Gmail and stock messaging apps--are no longer working and no longer appear as options in the settings for both apps. The custom ringtone files are still on the phone.I've tried re adding them, and copying them to different folders; I also tried searching for any of the existing stock sounds but nothing comes up with I search for "Postman" "harp" or "dew drops."
Is this a feature? It's one of the biggest reasons I jailbroke my iPhone. Might seem dumb to some, but I really like personalizing my ringtones/sms tones. I've been doing it since I first got a cell phone like 10 years ago - seems like such a standard feature, it's annoying I have to JB to get it.Everyone in the world has the tri-tone sms sound.
I loaded some custom tones into my iphone via SSH, and 3 of them will not work. The files are fine, I checked. They have the right names and everything. But they don't play on the phone. I deleted the original files before overwriting, if that helps clarify things. I have been trying to figure this out all afternoon and I am about ready to sell the iphone and get a Nokia or something.
My custom tones were working as of yesterday...now they only work for phone calls and not text messages. This is for some not all of the ringtones though. What did i do wrong?
I have 600+ contacts. I have set a default ringtone for everyone but not everyone rings with this tone? How can i set everyone for this ringtone or reset the ringtones?
I have a Bold 9900 supplied through my employer. They has asked me to setup audible alerts on mails received from a specific contact. What I have done so far: Added sender to my contacts listTurned off message tones from the "Normal" profileTurned on messgae tones for the specific contact Ensured, When I recieve an email from this contact I get an audible tone "ONLY" if the phone is unlocked. What am I missing?
I remember before the 3gs came out the only way to get custom sms tones is to make it the same name as an original sms tone but they had to be short because you cant stop them no matter what buttons you press.my question today is has anyone found a way to make longer sms tones that can be longer than a couple seconds...i guess im just used to hearing my favorite songs play when i get a text so if there is away please feel free to let me know.
I recently installed the new OS (.607) for the Storm 2 9550 (Verizon) using DM. Everything seemed to go over well; didn't backup my contacts and lost BBM contacts (i didn't think to back them up, Whoops :x ) Anyway, i had SMS alert tones for specific contacts which i had edited while adding the contacts when i first got the phone, back in October/November. When a said person texted/called, the tone that i assigned worked like a charm. Fast Forward to a few days ago (whenever .607 was officially released), i was re-adding my contacts (thank god i still have my old LG Dare), and putting in the custom tones for the specific people like i had before (the ringtones are saved on my 16gig memory card) and i noticed that when one of them called, the tone works as it should. However, when i get a SMS from them, it plays the default SMS tone (which is also custom). The same thing happens with MMS messages as well. Any ideas as to why the default tone plays instead of the custom one i specified? (I tried taking out the "-" in the phone #, since when i enter them in my contacts, i enter the number like so: (XXX)XXX-XXXX) but when i do that, the SMS shows up in my BBM chats with the BBM alert (was a suggestion i found while Googling the issue).
I have set a custom ringtone for some contacts but if I have set my phone to vibrate only it still uses the custom ringtone set even though it should only vibrate.Does any one know how to set it so it only vibrates and does not use the custom ringtone when set to vibrate only
I have been trying to set custom ring tones for certain callers. I have tried changing the ring tone by going to Contacts, selecting the contact, and changing the ringtone listed under Custom Ring Tones/Alerts for the contact. My Sound and Alert Profile is set to normal. I have also tried going to Sound and Alert Profile and clicking on Change Sounds and Alerts. From there I have selected Sounds for Contacts and tried to Add Contact Alert. After doing this my phone still rings with the ring tone for the Normal Profile. How can I ensure that the ringtone for the custom alert comes up for these contacts?
my BlackBerry Tour has a habit of playing my custom ring tones despite the fact I have the phones volume set to silent in the active profile. This is a behavior I have spent about two hours trying to correct and have been unable to discern a viable solution anywhere. I've got into the settings for the ring tones, theoretically they should be silent along with everything else but it doesn't matter, they continue to play. Normal ring tones do play silently, or rather those numbers to which I have not assigned a custom ring tone.
I recently tried to use custom tones on my i phone 3gs,i went through all the process of converting to aac, setting the 30 second time, changing the format to 4mr and putting it back into i tunes, its in the ringtone section of i tunes but it wont go into my actual ringtones section on the phone?
Okay folks the problem here is exactly what it sounds like: my BlackBerry Tour has a habit of playing my custom ring tones despite the fact I have the phones volume set to silent in the active profile. Again this is a problem for me at work, so I'd really appreciate any guidance, it has been very difficult to find.
I recently switched from the HTC one M8 to the Samsung S6 edge and have not looked back since. Samsung really does make terrific phones. One thing I was curious about, that I noticed recently, was that when I plug headphones into the phone, the little headphone icon appears in the top left corner and says that headphones are now connected and then the icon and message disappear. Coming from the HTC one M8 I am used to the headphone icon remaining there the whole time my headphones are plugged in and was wondering if this is normal for it to prompt me that the headphones are connected and then disappear?
Also, on a, possibly related, side note, having weird issues with the spotify app just crashing or pausing for no reason? I was thinking that it was either due to notifications I was getting, a bad headphone jack, or maybe the app is just bugging out.
I am using a stock S6 in the UK and received an OTA update (Vodafone, screenshot attached) two days ago. Now my work exchange email account in the Gmail app has disappeared (no sign of it, all the emails and settings disappear). I can set it up again and it receives email for a few hours but then it randomly disappears again. I have two other accounts (gmail and IMAP) and both are unaffected.
Overheated and bought a new battery. Came at 12%. Phone boots but when I plug it in to charge it, lightening bolt never appears.
Shut the phone down and plug it in to charge it. The battery with the lightening bolt appears on the screen, with no percentage, then disappears. This happens repeatedly and battery never charges.
I have: 1) Cleaned the ports 2) Factory reset 3) Tried a different cable 4) Tried booting in safe mode (won't charge) 5) Left the phone for an hour (it just did the same thing... battery appears, disappears the whole time)
So I just installed the newest update as of 12/14/15 not sure when it was released. But anyway. Since then. My s5 has been giving me non stop message tones when nothing is there at all. No new notifications. No new anything. I turned the sound off completey and it will still vibrate.
I have gotten my custom mp3 files assigned to different contacts but the default notification sound overrides them so they all sound the same. I know there has to be a way to have each contact have a different tone because it was added as far back as s3 which I also currently still own as well and would like to have my contacts all have different tones so I know who's texting me.
I have created a folder called media/audio/notifications on my sd card put an mp3 10second track on it, this appears in settings/sounds/ notifications along with the standard ones, it will play if i test it there (pressing the round button) click ok and the original ta da sound plays when i get a text. if i open settings/sounds/ notifications my new track is still highlighted. i got this phone cos i don't distinguish sounds too well and this is urgently needed.
How do I turn on the key tones on the dialer during a call on the 920F? It is enabled in the sound settings but while on a call/speakerphone it key tones do not sound.
When making a call the S6 makes a connection tone and a disconnection tone at the end of the call. You could turn this off on the S5 I cannot find where to turn it off on the S6.
Is there a way to add personalized tones for the stock messanger? I know how to do ring tones but they do not work for texts. If there is no way is there a different app to use?
Switching to the S6 (Edge, actually) from a MotoX. Never owned a Samsung before, so still getting used to TouchWiz, etc.
Just looking for a way to set a custom ringtone per contact? I assume it will find my ringtones that I put in /sdcard/ringtones, but I can't find a way to assign them to my contacts.
I just update my S6 to MM, but i'm not able to set a custom font anymore. With Lollipop i was able to install a custom font with IFont and apply it from screen settings. Now IFont still can install the font, but once you try to apply from settings, it says that it's not supported and it asks if you want to unistall it.
