Jul 27, 2014Can't we choose our own alarm tones rather than their pre fixed tones. There's collection is so stupid. Only helium seems to be some what bearable.

View 3 RepliesWhat is the best and/or easiest way to have songs be used for alarm sounds? Is there any way to do it without adding apps I.e. staying native or not...?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo basically, for no reason (no update, no restart of the device), my Nexus 5 does not show my music in Google Play Music, and my Ringtones/Alarms/Notifications that I customized do not work too (and they do no show in the list when I try to apply parameters).
No file has disappeared:
- Music is in Nexus5 > Internatl Storage > Music
- The rest of the stuff is still in Nexus 5 > Internal Storage > Ringtones, or Alarms.
Everything is here right at its place. But nothing works as before. I tried to restart the device, but no. I tried to empy cache/clear data/force stop of Google Play Music, but no. I did the same with the Media Storage app, and it did not work too. I got all the files out and back with other names, but no.
Moreover, since I forced stop of Google Music and relaunched it, now my library is polluted my dozens of songs and albums that I suppose are automatically put here as a "try it" thing, but I don't want them appearing at all, even more in my small library (okay, right now, nothing would appear I know).
I have nexus 5 with android 5.01 rooted with custom recovery TWRP. The problem is i downloaded 5.1 in about phone > check for update. When it restart it goes to custom recovery menu and nothing happen. I downloaded 5.1 zip file and i try to install with TWRP but it says error. I really wanna taste 5.1 ....
View 3 Replies View Relatedmy new Nexus 6, but I'm noticing an issue with my custom notification ringtones or sounds. I have a custom Ringtone for my Calls, that plays fine, but the Notifications for my Voicemail and Texts is not playing or Plays once the first time, then defaults back to the barely audible notification sound on the N6.
I wiped cache partition and did a factory reset before setting up the phone after the final OTA of 6.0 the day I received the phone. I'm going to try to wipe Cache Partition once again, because I saw in another Notification thread to try it.

I've had my beautiful Nexus 5 since April now, and have got it just the way I want it (screenshot below for the curious ) but I was wondering if it is possible to have custom navigation bar icons at the bottom without rooting. I have seen many images on this forum and people have custom icons on it. Do you need to root in order to do this, or can an app do it?
Here is my home screen for those who wonder:
I recently bricked my Nexus 5 after attempting to load one kernel over another (I know now that what I did was stupid) and I'm now stuck in a bootloop. I believe I'm running on 5.1.1 and have no custom recovery anymore.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to have an unrooted, locked custom ROM? I went back to stock from PA and noticed a drop in performance. However, I need to install Good Enterprise, and it can't be rooted for that.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAs if says in the title, the Nexus 6 alarm does not go off, one does, but the second one does not.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm planing to use Wugfresh Nexus Root Toolkit to do a clean install of the image.. If I have to flash custom kernel, any good one (battery friendly and nice performance).
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy phone now goes into random reboot and goes into "Android is starting Optimizing app x of xxx" mode. It take a lot of efforts to bring phone back to normal. I googled for this issue but didn't find any firm solution for the same. My phone has custom ROM based on 5.1.1
The issue started few days ago and I am using this ROM since long time.
I lost my rooted access but still have a custom recovery, how is that possible?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSince lollipop my custom ringtone has been replaced by a system sound. I checked settings and my custom ringtone is still selected. But it doesn't work.
View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes the nexus have a way of changing the tone the alarm plays? Been searching for ages and can't seem to find it in the obvious places.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've been having a problem these past few days, something strange is happening..
1) When i use google voice to set a reminder, for example "remind me in 2 hours to take out the laundry" it sets an alarm for that reminder instead of a notification
2) If i set the same reminder for a couple of days from now it sets it as an appointment in the calendar (it asks me which calendar app i want to use, which is new) instead of a reminder.
3) When i manually set a reminder it doesn't notify me
4) I cant seem to find where the setting is for the sound played for the reminder notification, which was somewhere in the past.
so I have a nexus 6 I am trying to root and I am using nexus 6 root toolkit I do everything they say to do but when I install the custom rom it says I don't have root access what am I doing wrong. I have tried to root it like 3 times now and it does the same thing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that in hangouts, I've set an individual custom ringtone for someone, and every single time I reboot my phone, it resets that particular ringtone to the stock ringtone that I have set.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am on a stock rooted Nexus 5 (with TWRP). I want to install a custom rom; however, I would like to do a clean install of the custom rom (making sure no files/settings of my previous installations are left if that makes sense). What's the best way to go about this? Does it mean I have to install both the custom rom and the recovery again in order to do a clean install?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried to install xtrasmooth but i got the error: error executing updater binary.. On croma i got an error about the system partition...
Already tried to wipe and reboot to recovery and unmount system partition.

I remember that on my oneplus i got the same error message about the updater binary, i fixed it flashing a zip that changed the device name...
after Christmas "until next alarm" option disappeared from "Do Not Disturb" menu and then magically reappeared on January 1st. Now again it has disappeared. I'm running the latest stock android MMB29S.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI switch from GS4 to the N6. One thing that I am missing is the ability to have the alarm clock sound go to the speakers, when the headphones are plugged in.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs this a feature? It's one of the biggest reasons I jailbroke my iPhone. Might seem dumb to some, but I really like personalizing my ringtones/sms tones. I've been doing it since I first got a cell phone like 10 years ago - seems like such a standard feature, it's annoying I have to JB to get it.Everyone in the world has the tri-tone sms sound.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI have a SGS5 on Verizon wireless with the most recent software update from last week. This morning I changed my phone's battery and my custom ringtones--for Gmail and stock messaging apps--are no longer working and no longer appear as options in the settings for both apps. The custom ringtone files are still on the phone.I've tried re adding them, and copying them to different folders; I also tried searching for any of the existing stock sounds but nothing comes up with I search for "Postman" "harp" or "dew drops."
View 1 Replies View RelatedI loaded some custom tones into my iphone via SSH, and 3 of them will not work. The files are fine, I checked. They have the right names and everything. But they don't play on the phone. I deleted the original files before overwriting, if that helps clarify things. I have been trying to figure this out all afternoon and I am about ready to sell the iphone and get a Nokia or something.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy custom tones were working as of yesterday...now they only work for phone calls and not text messages. This is for some not all of the ringtones though. What did i do wrong?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI remember before the 3gs came out the only way to get custom sms tones is to make it the same name as an original sms tone but they had to be short because you cant stop them no matter what buttons you press.my question today is has anyone found a way to make longer sms tones that can be longer than a couple seconds...i guess im just used to hearing my favorite songs play when i get a text so if there is away please feel free to let me know.
