View 2 RepliesI've noticed that in hangouts, I've set an individual custom ringtone for someone, and every single time I reboot my phone, it resets that particular ringtone to the stock ringtone that I have set.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI made some editions on my system's sound files (like lock and unlock screen sounds) and made it like the "idroid" in Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes game but these sounds volumes are really low.The problem here is , nexus 5 doesn't have an option to adjust the system sounds volume unlike samsung galaxy phones which had an option to rise or low the system sounds volume.I tried volume boost app but it rise the whole speaker sounds. Is there any way to adjust the system sounds only ?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have the set of default ringtones from both Windows Phone and Nokia pre installed and those from Insider app. I made many custom ringtones, but none of them has the quality and sound that of preinstalled or Insider ringtones. I tried with Mp3 at 320 bit rate and as well as WMA. What is the best format for the custom ringtone which can match with the pre installed one???? without this info the custom ringtones are waste of time..............

View 7 Replies View RelatedI dropped my Nexus 6 a few weeks ago and it cracked the top left of the glass. I attempted a glass replacement and ended up shattering the LCD. I bit the bullet and ordered a new LCD. I connected the new LCD and booted the phone up. The Google boot screen comes up fine, but once it goes to the spinning orbs before you get to the UI, the screen triples the icon and once it fully boots everything else is in triple as well. Once booted into the UI, there is also a strip about a half inch high that is nothing but colored static dots. The rest of the screen is normal, but basically unusable because of the tripling effect. I would like to attach some pictures but I am not sure how.

View 3 Replies View Relatedmy new Nexus 6, but I'm noticing an issue with my custom notification ringtones or sounds. I have a custom Ringtone for my Calls, that plays fine, but the Notifications for my Voicemail and Texts is not playing or Plays once the first time, then defaults back to the barely audible notification sound on the N6.
I wiped cache partition and did a factory reset before setting up the phone after the final OTA of 6.0 the day I received the phone. I'm going to try to wipe Cache Partition once again, because I saw in another Notification thread to try it.

I've had my beautiful Nexus 5 since April now, and have got it just the way I want it (screenshot below for the curious ) but I was wondering if it is possible to have custom navigation bar icons at the bottom without rooting. I have seen many images on this forum and people have custom icons on it. Do you need to root in order to do this, or can an app do it?
Here is my home screen for those who wonder:
Can't we choose our own alarm tones rather than their pre fixed tones. There's collection is so stupid. Only helium seems to be some what bearable.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently bricked my Nexus 5 after attempting to load one kernel over another (I know now that what I did was stupid) and I'm now stuck in a bootloop. I believe I'm running on 5.1.1 and have no custom recovery anymore.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy phone now goes into random reboot and goes into "Android is starting Optimizing app x of xxx" mode. It take a lot of efforts to bring phone back to normal. I googled for this issue but didn't find any firm solution for the same. My phone has custom ROM based on 5.1.1
The issue started few days ago and I am using this ROM since long time.
I lost my rooted access but still have a custom recovery, how is that possible?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo basically, for no reason (no update, no restart of the device), my Nexus 5 does not show my music in Google Play Music, and my Ringtones/Alarms/Notifications that I customized do not work too (and they do no show in the list when I try to apply parameters).
No file has disappeared:
- Music is in Nexus5 > Internatl Storage > Music
- The rest of the stuff is still in Nexus 5 > Internal Storage > Ringtones, or Alarms.
Everything is here right at its place. But nothing works as before. I tried to restart the device, but no. I tried to empy cache/clear data/force stop of Google Play Music, but no. I did the same with the Media Storage app, and it did not work too. I got all the files out and back with other names, but no.
Moreover, since I forced stop of Google Music and relaunched it, now my library is polluted my dozens of songs and albums that I suppose are automatically put here as a "try it" thing, but I don't want them appearing at all, even more in my small library (okay, right now, nothing would appear I know).
so I have a nexus 6 I am trying to root and I am using nexus 6 root toolkit I do everything they say to do but when I install the custom rom it says I don't have root access what am I doing wrong. I have tried to root it like 3 times now and it does the same thing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am on a stock rooted Nexus 5 (with TWRP). I want to install a custom rom; however, I would like to do a clean install of the custom rom (making sure no files/settings of my previous installations are left if that makes sense). What's the best way to go about this? Does it mean I have to install both the custom rom and the recovery again in order to do a clean install?

I am running a stock image on my N5 with root and need to add an apk into the system partition but the problem is that I have only 4mb left on there and the apk does not fit. Is it possible to resize the partitions and:
Still keep your data and/or Allow for OTA installations down the road?
I need to install an apk to /system/app but my system partition has no free space. Using "df" command in terminal emulator, it says 0.0K free in /system.
I have Android 6 DP3 and I've never pushed any file to /system before. Is there any way to extend system partition?
I'm having some difficulty with doing this. Recently, a family member of mine had purchased a stereo system, more specifically, the LG mini hi-fi cm4320. Everything about the system seems to be functional except for USB port to mp3 capability. From the outside, it would appear that this should function the same as if it were a car stereo/radio system with the same USB connection option. Each time I try establish connection with my phone, the system's screen flashes "search/no USB", switching between the two. Is this an issue with my phone or the stereo system itself? In any case, how do I go about correcting it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was on 4.4.2 until two days ago when I flashed (for the first time, with success.. I think) to 4.4.3. Of course my bootloader was locked so when I unlocked it I lost my data, even with removing the -w flag in the batch file. Anyhow, here is what I had in my platform tools folder before executing the script to flash:
Notice that I don't have a system image in the directory. While the command prompt was executing, I noticed that it said "unable to find system.img" yet, when all was said and done, my phone rebooted, and it shows me on 4.4.3 now. I'm assuming it was successful because all the features of my phone work and it shows 4.4.3 like everyone else, but I'm still worried that the initial system img file wasn't in the directory. Should I go ahead and make sure ALL the img files (not just bootloader and radio) are in platform tools folder and re-flash again? Luckily I won't lose everything this time since my bootloader is unlocked and I will simply keep -w removed from the batch file.
For instance the typical "tic" touch sound sometimes sound like a "poc" sound or distorted, some other sounds like WhatsApp or Facebook sounds sometimes sound distorted as well or simply don't sound at all. Is it me or what?

Let me know how to diable the phone going into recovey mode or how to update in recovery mode if there is way to do it???? This has been happening from past 2 days.

Seller also say, that it happened after os update. It is possible, or just lie.
Stock nexus 6, I used ringdroid to cut a mp3 to a ringtone. I chose the tone and I get calls and it still plays the stock tones
