Google Nexus 5 :: Until Next Alarm Option Disappeared From Do Not Disturb Menu
Jan 26, 2016
after Christmas "until next alarm" option disappeared from "Do Not Disturb" menu and then magically reappeared on January 1st. Now again it has disappeared. I'm running the latest stock android MMB29S.
So I was about to enable Do Not Disturb mode till next alarm like I do everyday and I found that option is gone. Rebooted it twice and the option is still missing. No clue what's wrong. I am running completely stock 6.0.1
Up until yesterday evening, I could press the down volume key on the side of the phone and I would get a drop down option that I could use to put the phone on vibrate or complete silence. That has now disappeared. Instead, I get a speaker with a slider bar and even when I drag the slider as far as I can to the left, my phone no longer goes on silent. How do I quickly put my phone on vibrate only or complete silence now as I cannot find the option in settings? (plus that way isn't really a shortcut).
So I have an alarm set every morning for work. I also use the do not disturb quick launch. Well for whatever reason every time I use do not disturb it turns off the alarm even though I have it set for alarms only mode.
Just checked my camera and the panoramic and sphere options have gone. I had them before but seem to be missing. On a Nexus 5. Tried clearing the cache via Recovery mode but still no luck.
I do tons of hangouts with my family and I noticed that I cant select the front camera anymore, just the rear or no camera. Today I looked into it a little further and now I dont have the front camera option within the camera application. It was there like 2 or 3 days ago. I am on 4.4.2 for about a week now so I am not 100% sure it was that broke the front camera.
Since large update last week the option icon has disappeared from the desktop screen. When I try to access options via the bb menu it does not respond and takes me back to the home screen.
How I can get the alarm to sound when the phone is is do not disturb? I found a whole thread on it for the samsung but can't find one for the lg g3, I'm using the lg g3s.
Yesterday I set up voice commands on my S6 under Google/Google Now. Under settings there was an opportunity to select whether you want the voice recognition just from within Google or "from any screen". I opted for "from any screen"had the "from any screen". Today no matter what I do it is just not available - the ONLY option shown is from within Google. The 'voice training' is gone, option for any screen is gone and I cannot get it back no matter what I tried.
I have tried it with TouchWiz, Nova launcher and Google Now launcher - same problem. I have tried English (US) English (Canada) and English (UK) as default language all to no avail.
Yesterday when it was "working" I definitely saw that the function was sporadic, sometimes worked, sometimes not. But now I can't even select that option.
I've been having a problem these past few days, something strange is happening..
1) When i use google voice to set a reminder, for example "remind me in 2 hours to take out the laundry" it sets an alarm for that reminder instead of a notification
2) If i set the same reminder for a couple of days from now it sets it as an appointment in the calendar (it asks me which calendar app i want to use, which is new) instead of a reminder.
3) When i manually set a reminder it doesn't notify me
4) I cant seem to find where the setting is for the sound played for the reminder notification, which was somewhere in the past.
I've been using my phone tonight and the apps were as normal where I scrolled left and right for the apps. I placed it on charge and when taking it off I went back into the app menu for something and noticed that I had a search bar at the top and had to scroll up and down. Its also seems to have kept my last 4 used apps in a separate drawer at the top.
i have nexus 5 with 6.0.1 android version, with this new version of android, the apps menu scrolling down or up, i want to change it by sliding right or left,
What is the best and/or easiest way to have songs be used for alarm sounds? Is there any way to do it without adding apps I.e. staying native or not...?
So basically, for no reason (no update, no restart of the device), my Nexus 5 does not show my music in Google Play Music, and my Ringtones/Alarms/Notifications that I customized do not work too (and they do no show in the list when I try to apply parameters).
No file has disappeared: - Music is in Nexus5 > Internatl Storage > Music - The rest of the stuff is still in Nexus 5 > Internal Storage > Ringtones, or Alarms.
Everything is here right at its place. But nothing works as before. I tried to restart the device, but no. I tried to empy cache/clear data/force stop of Google Play Music, but no. I did the same with the Media Storage app, and it did not work too. I got all the files out and back with other names, but no.
Moreover, since I forced stop of Google Music and relaunched it, now my library is polluted my dozens of songs and albums that I suppose are automatically put here as a "try it" thing, but I don't want them appearing at all, even more in my small library (okay, right now, nothing would appear I know).
One thing that I miss from CyanogenMod is the ability to add things to the quick settings menu. Is there an app available that will allow you to modify the quick settings menu on stock Android? My phone is rooted so but otherwise it's stock. I don't miss the instability of CyanogenMod, just that one feature, so I don't want to install a custom ROM, I just want to add a couple of things to the quick settings menu.
1. My settings app has disappeared from my Nexus 5. I was running Lollipop with an unlocked/rooted phone (done with the excellent Nexus root toolkit).
2. I tried to factory reset the phone but the settings app is still missing. I cannot install or sideload anything because everything requires USB debugging to be turned on, which requires me to change the Settings!
I switch from GS4 to the N6. One thing that I am missing is the ability to have the alarm clock sound go to the speakers, when the headphones are plugged in.
Is there a setting/app which will allow me to add the brightness slider to the dropdown notification menu? I have notification toggles which adds, well... toggles, but i want the slider.
Got my nice new nexus 5 and its 3 weeks old and I must say its soooo damn good to not have all the stuff put on to other android phones. This phone is simple and uncluttered, love it.
Just one little niggle. When in settings then into "about phone" and then into "status", it shows your phone number. Can some one tell me why its not my phone number. Did not think much of it until I started filling out info on my google stuff and it auto entered some info incuding the phone number, which was of course, wrong.
Simple questions really. 1. where has this number come from. 2. why is it not my number. 3. how do i change it.
so my Nexus 5 just showed a Update Message today saying that Android 6.0 was available. I accepted the terms and started downloading it.After finishing it asked me if i wanted to restart it, when i did nothing happened it just went back o the check for update dialog box. I tried restarting the phone but nothing happens, it does not detect android 6 again and it does not install the one that got downloaded.
Icons in the menu were displayed in 2 pages earlier. But all of a sudden it changed to List View. I think some buttons were pressed when it is in my pocket.
I have a Nexus 5, Lollipop 5.1.1. Build LMY48B. Today suddenly the Menu orientation of my phone changed to Vertical one with a scroll bar on right side and the "Search App" bar at the top.
Earlier it was a normal left-right swipe menu. Now it is a vertical up/down scrolling menu. I don't know how it changed. There was no software update or anything. And is there a setting to switch back to the original left/right swipe.
