View 2 RepliesAs you can see in the attachment, how do I get rid of the recent 4 apps from the apps menu list?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI know that with my old Windows Phone 7, the menu was broken down in sections by the starting letter of the app (So it would say "A" and beneath it were all the A apps.) Currently, my menu list is just a list--no letter headings, so you can't push on say, S, and zip down to the S apps. (Kind of how you find people on the Facebook app.)I am not articulating this well, but do you know if there is a way to jump to a particular letter in the 920? Right now, I just have a long list of apps, which is time consuming.

View 4 Replies View RelatedGot a used, but mint N5 the other day, stock unrooted running 4.4.4. Popped in my AT&T LG G2 SIM, and all was good for a day. Today, i've noticed that the icon on the top of the phone keeps changing from LTE, to H, and sometimes to NO SERVICE, although the last one changes back after a few seconds. Is this normal, or should i get the SIM card replaced? I live in a 4G LTE area, and never had this problem with the LG G2. Maybe it's a setting issue within the phone? i truly love this phone. The only app that i've put on this phone is Light Flow, just to change the color and speed of the notifications.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI set my phone to go to sleep after 30 second of inactivity in the settings in display. However, this always changes itself to 2 minutes every day or so without me changing anything.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been using my phone tonight and the apps were as normal where I scrolled left and right for the apps. I placed it on charge and when taking it off I went back into the app menu for something and noticed that I had a search bar at the top and had to scroll up and down. Its also seems to have kept my last 4 used apps in a separate drawer at the top.
View 6 Replies View RelatedOne thing that I miss from CyanogenMod is the ability to add things to the quick settings menu. Is there an app available that will allow you to modify the quick settings menu on stock Android? My phone is rooted so but otherwise it's stock. I don't miss the instability of CyanogenMod, just that one feature, so I don't want to install a custom ROM, I just want to add a couple of things to the quick settings menu.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am on stock rom, using SuperSU 2.66. I have tried using texdroider_dpi and one other app but they cannot change my dpi. It says it sets but then I reboot and I'm stuck on 560 dpi. I changed dpi in adb but some elements don't work such as my Swiftkey, the little blue diamonds for top devs in play store.
I assume this is a SuperSU issue but these DPI apps have worked since I first rooted this phone back in November. Only the current update has broken this.
Is there a setting/app which will allow me to add the brightness slider to the dropdown notification menu? I have notification toggles which adds, well... toggles, but i want the slider.
View 6 Replies View RelatedGot my nice new nexus 5 and its 3 weeks old and I must say its soooo damn good to not have all the stuff put on to other android phones. This phone is simple and uncluttered, love it.
Just one little niggle. When in settings then into "about phone" and then into "status", it shows your phone number. Can some one tell me why its not my phone number. Did not think much of it until I started filling out info on my google stuff and it auto entered some info incuding the phone number, which was of course, wrong.
Simple questions really.
1. where has this number come from.
2. why is it not my number.
3. how do i change it.
after Christmas "until next alarm" option disappeared from "Do Not Disturb" menu and then magically reappeared on January 1st. Now again it has disappeared. I'm running the latest stock android MMB29S.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have a Nexus 5, Lollipop 5.1.1. Build LMY48B. Today suddenly the Menu orientation of my phone changed to Vertical one with a scroll bar on right side and the "Search App" bar at the top.
Earlier it was a normal left-right swipe menu. Now it is a vertical up/down scrolling menu. I don't know how it changed. There was no software update or anything. And is there a setting to switch back to the original left/right swipe.
When trying to answer a call on my Nexus5 and it is locked . It will let me send text messages ( I am driving , etc) but will not let me answer the phone. Insufficient resources go to theme menu and reset. I cannot find a theme menu anywhere. Not in settings, nor elsewhere, any way other than factory reset?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI love my Nexus 5. It's blazing fast and does everything I need but I have one small problem with it. In the latest update (4.4.4) Google updated the Dialer App. The UI is amazing but there's a thing about the app that annoys me a lot.
I have set 5 of my closest friends which I call a lot on Speed Dial/Favourites.
However, every time I call anyone else in my contacts they automatically get added to the same Speed Dial menu and I have to manually clear those by clicking "clear frequents" or removing them one by one. Is there a way to disable this annoying feature?
today I installed the new android 6.0 factory image, rooted it (used the modified boot.img from the previous build) and installed supersu 2.52 and blu spark kernel. Everything good until i deleted some apps (gmail, webview, youtube and other NON CRITICAL apps, like I ALWAY DO SINCE KITKAT), then rebooted and my phone is stuck at the Google logo, not even the bootanimation shows up.. Tried to reflash the boot.img, wipe cache, wipe data, factory reset but nothing.. The only thing that worked is to reflash the factory image! What am I doing wrong? Happened 2 times in a row so something must be wrong.. Another thing, I can't access TWRP every time, sometimes it skips and boots directly..
View 2 Replies View RelatedI got an apk file of the new Google Now Launcher which is an official launcher by Google and I couldn't find how to hide useless apps which cannot be uninstalled.
Is there a way to hide them? I thought I should post here if the Nexus 5 users know how to do it.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus GT-I9105. It's not rooted and I never will.
My profile picture doesn't show up in the settings menu of Hangouts, Inbox, Gmail or Google Now. This is the case on both my Nexus 5 and my Nexus 7 (2013).

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using Android 5.1.1 on a Nexus 6. My question is sort of two-fold:
-First, is there a way that I can whitelist some apps where I'm not worried about an intruder accessing them, so that I can use them via "Ok, Google" without having to go through my unlock process (sort of like how you can accept a phone call without unlocking). Examples would be Shazam or Phillips Hue, where I want quick access without hassle.
-Second, what I REALLY want is the ability to modify my lock screen to have a couple app shortcuts or widgets on it, but I heard that google deprecated this in one of the 4.x releases for some reason. Is there a way to get this functionality back?
I've had my Nexus 5 since its initial release on CyanogenMod or various other stable ROMs. Anyways just today I began seeing these small, but obnoxious ads in-app. I don't download random apps, click on random bs links, or visit/browse through shady websites.
The ads are a wide rectangle near the top of the screen. There's a little x at the top left and an 'opt out' on the bottom right. It leads to a web page that essentially wants you to submit your IMEI, device ID and other information...or download/install an apk to "automatically" opt out of the ads.
I installed a few different antivirus/security apps to no avail of isolating any sort of virus/malware. I then ran the optout.apk through said antivirus apps and it came clean. So against my better judgement I installed the app and opted out, then deleted the application as instructed.
The ads still populate over my screen while using most apps - Google Play, Candy Crush, Whatsapp, Facebook, Snapchat, etc. I've had Android devices dating back to the Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant and I have not come across anything like this.
I'm running Lollipop 5.1.1 and whenever I swipe away recent apps in the task switcher such as Chrome or Play Store, there is a lag/stutter before the app leaves the screen. It swipes away and then pauses for a second before leaving.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Google Nexus 5, that has never been rooted.each time my phone is running out of battery (meaning nearly every day because I am using Waze, a GPS app, quite often), when Android is starting a message saying "Optimizing 1 of x.. apps" and this take a lot of time (sometimes more than 10 minutes). It happens since I upgraded to a previous version of Android but I don't remember which one as is it not the latest one. Now, my phone is running Android 5.1.1 build LMY48M.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOne thing Samsung does right is allow you to close all running apps at once. Is there an application that can add that functionality to my Nexus 6?
View 2 Replies View RelatedFrom time to time my Nexus 5 won't let me share articles on Facebook; if I want to share a YouTube video tommy FB timeline the video won't show up on the posting...the same if I want to share a Huffington Post article (or any site from Chrome). View 4 Replies View RelatedI started noticing that this week. From the recent app window, when I Swipe an app left or right to close it, the app hangs/freezes at the edge of the screen before it completely goes away. It's so strange and annoying.
I cleared both app and device cache and still same lag. I'm running everything stock and I'm on 5.1.1
Experiencing lag swiping away open recent apps?
