Is there a setting/app which will allow me to add the brightness slider to the dropdown notification menu? I have notification toggles which adds, well... toggles, but i want the slider.

Is there any way to put a touch column slider on the notifications area like the brightness slider?
I'm running stock 5.1.1, and even though my auto brightness is off my phone occasionally dims my display when it's on full brightness. It's not running particularly hot (37 degrees C according to my battery widget) so I don't know what's causing it to dim.
View 4 Replies View RelatedOccasionally (and apparently randomly) the dropdown arrow next to the volume slider disappears and is not pressable. Changing orientation and opening the volume panel (pressing a volume button) whilst in a different orientation fixes the issue.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Nexus 5 (USA Google Play Store version) and have had issues with WiFi dropping out for a while now. The WiFi on the phone often freezes. What I mean by freezing is webpage might stop loading half way through or a video might stop streaming and just freezes. To get the WiFi to work again I have to turn WiFi off and then back on again. I have reset the phone and have tried another nexus 5, and still have the same issue. All of the other devices that I have (several computers, tablets, iPhones, an s4, etc) work fine. I have 3 Fritz! box routers that all have the same SSID, password, etc. I am using Verizon Fios.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI wanted to start using android pay so I decided to flash back to a stock rom instead of aosp rom. I flashed my Nexus 6 to 6.0.1, everything went fine and I set my phone back up the way I wanted. Shortly after that I would turn my phone to see my lockscreen and my screen brightness would go to full brightness until I unlocked my phone then it would bring the brightness down to a normal level for light the phone was receiving. Then it would do this no matter if I would in a dark room, in direct sunlight or in a room with average lit lights.
I am on Tmobile so I thought maybe it was the firmware, even though it shouldn't matter. So I flashed back to LYZ28N and I let the phone upgrade to MRA58X and had the same issue.
I have my brightness slider just over the Wifi icon on the toggles in the notification shade. I do have auto brightness turned on . Ambient screen is off.
Now I see that MRA58X is available as a download I will try to flash straight to that.
I was running a website online that says if you have adaptive brightness turned on to non set your brightness turned into minimal level because it'll make the screen go blank and dark pretty much. For all the people on the forum that have adapter brightness turned on, what is your brightness level setting at? Mines at about at say 35 percent or as it lines up with the Wi-Fi symbol on the quick toggle settings menu.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy screen is always at max brightness but sometimes, like once or twice a week, i see it "bounce" slightly to a "just a bit" brighter level. it happens only once, so it's not "flickering" but given it's set at max brightness i wonder why this is happening?

just got my nexus 6 today and I've noticed that when lowering my brightness really low the screen starts becoming pink. Is there a fix to this. Some say it is a feature but I've never really seen this on other phones and personally the pink hue is bothering me quite a bit.

I've tried different emoticons apps from the playstore, but they want to replace Hangouts. While I don't particularly like Hangouts, im just going to settle for now. I placed it on charge and when taking it off I went back into the app menu for something and noticed that I had a search bar at the top and had to scroll up and down. Its also seems to have kept my last 4 used apps in a separate drawer at the top.

Is there an app available that will allow you to modify the quick settings menu on stock Android? My phone is rooted so but otherwise it's stock. Just one little niggle. When in settings then into "about phone" and then into "status", it shows your phone number. Can some one tell me why its not my phone number. Did not think much of it until I started filling out info on my google stuff and it auto entered some info incuding the phone number, which was of course, wrong.
Simple questions really.
1. where has this number come from.
2. why is it not my number.
3. how do i change it.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have a Nexus 5, Lollipop 5.1.1. Build LMY48B. Today suddenly the Menu orientation of my phone changed to Vertical one with a scroll bar on right side and the "Search App" bar at the top.
Earlier it was a normal left-right swipe menu. Now it is a vertical up/down scrolling menu. I don't know how it changed. There was no software update or anything.And is there a setting to switch back to the original left/right swipe.
When trying to answer a call on my Nexus5 and it is locked . It will let me send text messages ( I am driving , etc) but will not let me answer the phone. Insufficient resources go to theme menu and reset. I cannot find a theme menu anywhere. Not in settings, nor elsewhere, any way other than factory reset?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI love my Nexus 5. It's blazing fast and does everything I need but I have one small problem with it. In the latest update (4.4.4) Google updated the Dialer App. The UI is amazing but there's a thing about the app that annoys me a lot.
I have set 5 of my closest friends which I call a lot on Speed Dial/Favourites.
However, every time I call anyone else in my contacts they automatically get added to the same Speed Dial menu and I have to manually clear those by clicking "clear frequents" or removing them one by one. Is there a way to disable this annoying feature?
My profile picture doesn't show up in the settings menu of Hangouts, Inbox, Gmail or Google Now. This is the case on both my Nexus 5 and my Nexus 7 (2013).

How do you add another tile to that drop down menu? I want to add volume control as its the only thing missing that I use all the time. It's driving me nuts because at the moment the only way to silence my phone is to hold down the volume key. I went through all the settings and didnt see the "notification drawer" option anywhere.

Made the trade and got $50 back since it was on sale suh-weet!Anyways first thing i did was turn off auto brightness. Normally on my GS2 i would just adjust it myself via the notification bar. Well I decided to go to settings>display then tried to click on brightness. Brightness is greyed out and unclickable. What is up with this? I can change it via the notication bar or the widget to set brightnesses from it, but cant go through settings display to change it.
