I cannot download anything on my Nexus 5 from the play store at the moment. When I press download it gets stuck at 'installing...' forever. It started with the facebook app updating, forcing me to have to download the messenger app (I had used a workaround to avoid having to install it before), but when that wasn't installing I decided there had to be something wrong with facebook. I UN-installed Facebook, but now Facebook app gets stuck as well. Then I tried to find a replacement app, Fast for Facebook, but the story is the same.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI reset my phone because after 5.1.1 update my phone battery was poor so i reset my phone copied songs from my PC to nexus 5 when i open Google play music it is unable to detect those transferred songs. when i went to ES Explorer i can able to see all the songs i copied. what should i do? one more reset? is there any way to say google play music about songs presence?
P.S i already deleted cache, cleared data of that app no use
I bought a song from the play store the other day only to find that Google Play Music will no longer play any music on my Nexus 5. I do have PowerAmp set as my default player (I think) and I cleared the GPM app cache. It should work but it doesn't play anything at all, none of my other music either.

View 10 Replies View Relatedtoday I installed the new android 6.0 factory image, rooted it (used the modified boot.img from the previous build) and installed supersu 2.52 and blu spark kernel. Everything good until i deleted some apps (gmail, webview, youtube and other NON CRITICAL apps, like I ALWAY DO SINCE KITKAT), then rebooted and my phone is stuck at the Google logo, not even the bootanimation shows up.. Tried to reflash the boot.img, wipe cache, wipe data, factory reset but nothing.. The only thing that worked is to reflash the factory image! What am I doing wrong? Happened 2 times in a row so something must be wrong.. Another thing, I can't access TWRP every time, sometimes it skips and boots directly..

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just starting experiencing this yesterday when I tried downloading line messenger but google download bar keeps loading but actually doesnt download it and give an error 194.
I tried downloading other apps and the same happened so I tried troubleshooting by researching over the internet and got a very few solutions like:
-clearing google play store cache and data
-clearing google services cache and data
-then rebooting
I also tried re-syncing my google accounts
I have two of them one is personal and the other is my office
I also tried using just one account but no luck
so eventually I came to a conclusion of hard reset which usually fixes everything
But guess what no luck with a bit of different outcome
the download status keeps downloading but does not actually download only this time it doesn't give any error messages like "194"
I am using wifi i don't use mobile data also my mobile is LG G3 D855 on android lollipop 5.0 which came with the mobile.
So is it my account or my wifi that has a problem or is my phone malfunctioning. Cause I can still download apks and install them just that I cant from google play store...
I have been waiting for the Play Store update to come through but have yet to have it happen. I have tried the tricks that I know of, other than side loading it.

however is that the phone does not appear in my device listing in the Play Store when I access it on a computer, or on Android Device Manager when I access it from a computer or from the phone itself! I can access the Play Store just fine from the phone, but cannot install apps from a computer. From the Play Store or ADM I can see my Nexus 7 and my old phone, but not the Nexus 5. The phone is set up with the same Google account as the other devices.
Unfortunately, I cannot seem to connect to the Play Store. I have tried most solutions I found on the internet but none have worked.
The only big changes I have made to the device since the issue arose is a change of Google password and a manual install of an apk (an update I wasn't receiving). What could be causing this?
Since the 5.0 update, everything has been awesome. Only issue I have run into, is that sometimes out of no where my phone will pause Play Music with out me touching my phone. For example, I listen to Play Music at night and its setup on either a loop or just one of the sleep radio stations. But after one or two songs or even twice in one song, it will pause.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Nexus 5 on the AT&T network. Been using it without issue since Halloween 2014. All of a sudden, the past couple of days, I'm having some issues with MMS messages. I started a new group message and only one person received it. I haven't been able to text pictures to people. And today I have been receiving notification stating "Can't download MMS - check your APN settings". I can send regular one on one text messages just fine and sometimes group messages do go through. Sometimes not. Pictures don't seem to be going through at all.
Nothing has changed on my phone and I definitely haven't touched the APN settings. I'm using the "phone" APN for AT&T with all of the correct settings founds online.
I had a friend who's using a 2014 Moto X Pure Edition send me his APN (also AT&T) and he has one called "nxtgenphone" but all of the other settings are identical to the "phone" APN. I've tried added a new APN for "nxtgenphone" but when I select it and then reboot, the phone goes back to the "phone" APN automatically. Is it an AT&T issue? My issue? Other? I'm not sure what to do or check at this point.
Got the new Nexus 5 and found that flash video playing is totally incompatible with the Android 4.4 Kitkat, no t in Dolphin, not in Firefox and other browsers. This is too bad and I can't imagine it just happened.
I digged into the code since then and found that some critical APIs have been removed from Android 4.4 that flash uses.

1) Download Dolphin Browser
Surprised, Dolphin just push a 10.2.0 update version to me and I found Dolphin Jetpack was built-in. This means you don't have to install 2 separate APK now.

Warning: [/B]You must have Dolphin Jetpack on in the settings to enjoy it. As far as I have noticed, Dolphin Jetpack better solves the compatibility with flash player, such as crash issue & freeze issue in full screen.
2) Download the hacked flash player HERE
Warning: Make sure that you have uninstall the flash player installed in your device and then install the hacked one for compatibility reason.
If your devices refused to install apk outside Google Play, you may set in your device (Settings> Securities> Unknown resources) to allow installation of apps from unknown sources.
3) Make sure that the flash setting in Dolphin Browser (Click Menu>Settings>Web Content>Flash Player) is on.
Flash Player is not officially supported and therefore the speed of loading of flash video may be slow. However, I have tried many sites such as YouTube and Hulu. They all work properly with satisfactory results.
I did not notice this problem until recently, at first I used Carbon+Ex kernel, now Im using Optipop+Uber, but the problem's still there, even with different Gapps. Can this be a hardware problem.

Then, a couple days ago I went to open chrome and a pop up came up saying I had a virus. I backed out of it, downloaded AVANT and it didn't find any issues. Now when I go to chrome, the phone randomly redirects to the play store trying to get get me to download all kinds of different apps. I have run the adware and antivirus software and I have also done a full factory reset on the phone.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've noticed this issue when I realised that 1% of battery goes every 20 minutes. I see Google Play Services as the top battery drainer on my phone. I use the Moto 360 with it. I tried switching bluetooth off and checking, it's still the same, 1% every 20-30 minutes of no usage.
Edit: I forgot to mention that yesterday before I slept, I saw the battery was at 83%. Seven hours later, it was at 70%. Is this normal? Am I over-reacting?
