Jun 28, 2011I have created a folder called media/audio/notifications on my sd card put an mp3 10second track on it, this appears in settings/sounds/ notifications along with the standard ones, it will play if i test it there (pressing the round button) click ok and the original ta da sound plays when i get a text. if i open settings/sounds/ notifications my new track is still highlighted. i got this phone cos i don't distinguish sounds too well and this is urgently needed.

Samsung Galaxy S II :: Can't Hear People When They Call
Sep 28, 2012I did a factory restore, and in the process I upgraded from Gingerbread to Ice Cream Sandwich - although I am not sure I did it correctly.
When I look at the "About Phone" section, the Android Version says: 4.0.3
The Baseband Version says: 19100XXLPQ
Build Number: IML74K.XXLPQ
(Cant remember where it used to say Gingerbread lol, but it doesnt say Ice Cream Sandwich anywhere)...
Anyway, since I did this, I can no longer hear people during a call.

May 30, 2012just getting to grips with my new android phone ( dragging myself into the 21st century as my daughter informs me ) so using the functions is still new to me. However one thing I have found is that, unlike my old Samsung Monte, I can't assign individual test alert tones on a contact basis so that all have the same alert. Looking through forums it seems the way to go is to use a separate app that will do that and seems that there are three mainly recommended - chomp sms, handcent sms and Go SMS Pro. So I have two questions, firstly does anyone have recommendations as to which may be the better to go for of the three or have a better sugegstions. Secondly anything I need to do when installing an app on an android phone, probably a dumb quetion to some but I'd like to have use of my phone for more than a week before managing to blow it up

Apr 18, 2012I have just upgraded to ICS, but now my customised ringtones to individual contacts is not working and nor is my customised sms alert tone.They used to work okay on Gingerbread. I have "Ringtones" and "Notification" folders on the root of my SD card. I go into each contact and scroll down to the ringtone and select it,but then when someone phones me it still plays the default ringtone instead.

Jan 29, 2012ive never used voice mail before and have just transferred my number from my pay and go phone to contract phone (galaxy s2).once it did it.i got a few network messages and a new voice mail notification.i had to set some sort of number to dial it..and when i call it it, the o2 lady voice just says "at the third stroke the time brought to you by o2 will be blah blah" then beep beep beep..then it just loops....no idea what it is.and i cant get rid of the notification..
