Nokia :: Cannot Assign Ringtones To Contacts On E51
Aug 18, 2010I am trying to assign a ringtone to a contact on a E51 with latest firmware.When editing the contact, I select Options->Ringing tone, and then the only two selections available are "Download sounds" and "Default tone", even though I have many ringtones which show up when changing the ringtone for a profile.I thought this is something I had been able to do in the past.The only thing different now is that I have my contacts synchronized with a Mail for Exchange (3.0) account, could that be the problem?The same thing happens if I try to assign a ringtone to a group. How can I fix this so I can assign ringtones to specific contacts?

Mar 8, 2015Like the title says, I am trying to make my Nexus 6 assign certain ringtones to certain contacts on my phone using Zedge. Now I go through the process and it takes the tone and I save it on the contact but then it just goes back to using the default ringtone in the settings menu. I used this to do the assignment and it still won't do it. I don't understand why it won't let me put custom ring tones I contacts, I like to have a ring and text tone for each person on my phone that way I know who it is before I even look at the phone.

Is there a way to do it on Outlook so I can do it easier than on my little BB? I assigned about 100 pictures to contacts on Outlook and since the 2 sync, all the pictures showed up with the right contacts. This saved me soooooo much time...I was wondering if there was a way to do similar with ringtones

May 30, 2012just getting to grips with my new android phone ( dragging myself into the 21st century as my daughter informs me ) so using the functions is still new to me. However one thing I have found is that, unlike my old Samsung Monte, I can't assign individual test alert tones on a contact basis so that all have the same alert. Looking through forums it seems the way to go is to use a separate app that will do that and seems that there are three mainly recommended - chomp sms, handcent sms and Go SMS Pro. So I have two questions, firstly does anyone have recommendations as to which may be the better to go for of the three or have a better sugegstions. Secondly anything I need to do when installing an app on an android phone, probably a dumb quetion to some but I'd like to have use of my phone for more than a week before managing to blow it up

This can't be right, I could do that even in my old Nokia (3110 or something like that). How to do that? At least there's got to be a 3rd party program for that available in Ovi.

Nov 24, 2011Love the phone - just got a really irritating problem. I've synced my phone with my gmail account - the My Contacts list has my key contact email addresses. Then I have multiple groups within gmail account relating to work emails etc, nearly 500 odd.
On the phone, when I click my 'Contacts' button, initially it showed all my phone number contacts, as well all google email contacts mixed with them. I corrected this by going to 'display options' to select 'display only contacts with phone numbers', so that I didn't have to trawl through random email addresses mixed with my proper phone contacts. Great, sorted.
But, when I go to compose a text message - if it is to one or two specific contacts it is fine...I just type their name and it comes up. If I want to scroll through all my phone contacts to send the same message to multiple contacts, big problem - I press that envelope button in the top right corner next to 'enter recipient', and it takes me to the Contacts list, but here it still shows ALL 600 odd contacts with phone contacts still mixed with google email contacts, which is impossible to scroll through and select multiple people to send a text message to....Does anyone know how to sort this out?!??!

Apr 5, 2012Ok, so when I am in the compose message view I start typing a name to send a message to and the phone shows me all numbers for that contact, even if I deleted that number... for example say my contact Lewis upgrades and gets a new number, I edit his contact, deleting the old number and replacing it with the new. Then when I type LEW into the compose message "to" section it shows all numbers ever stored under that name, if you know what I mean..? So i am typing someones name getting multiple numbers even if they only have 1 number to there name.This also seems to be the case if someone registers a number to FB and I overwrite that number with a new number

Sep 12, 2011I spent ages yesterday individually connecting each phone contact to their fb account and then today all of a sudden they all just dissapeared again! I don't want every fb 'friend' to appear in my phonebook, so how on earth do I do this so that it's not going to delete them all each day. This phone won't defeat me, it has such good reviews so I am baffled why I am having problems.

Jul 26, 2010I had assigned a photo to one of the persons in my contacts. It worked perfectly. After some time I decided to delete this and not to have any other photo assigned to this person, so deleted the same thru' Options-->Image--.Remove( in contacts). Still when I received or made a call to this no. the photo got displayed. Then I deleted this photo from the images folder on phone all together (it was in phone memory). Now there was no photo display during receiving - making calls to that particular person. After this I once again copied the same photo to its original Images folder. It again gets displayed during calls.. Though there is no thumbnail display against the person in contacts..

Aug 2, 2010I need an alternative to iSmartDialer. Purchased this software for my 3GS same time ago and ended up having to purchase a second copy so it would work on my fiancées phone too. At one point I restored and couldn't find the code and iSmartDialer customer service gave me hell retrieving my key. Now we both have iPhone 4's and the application is telling me 1 code to 1 device without a transfer option. Going to their website, it actually says NO transfers. Kind of funny considering back when we purchased it didn't say anything about no transfers nor did rockyourphone.com.
So at this point, I am not paying another cent to this dirty company and advise others not to either unless you like to buy the application everytime you get a new device. With that said, I am looking for a simple dialing application that will allow me to save contacts to the number pad. So, when you hold #1 for example it calls whoever you have assigned to that key. Anyone know of an application like that?
