I have a Blackberry Tour with the new 5.0 from VZW on it. I want to reset the phone to the factory out of the box settings. I can't figure out how to do it. I found the instructions for the 4.7 OS but the steps are not the same. I don't want to use BBSak or anything. There has to be a way just using the phone, right?
Can the blackberry desktop manager software remotely wipe out all data and reset it to factory settings? I have bb curve 8530 and I have no information on what software update exactly is the desktop manager.
I just used my upgrade on the verizon blackberry tour 9630, I'm a big texter and absolutely LOVED my env2! Any helpful hints? Advice to a new user? I actually will not get my phone till next week.
I got a replacement phone from insurance and then restored it - it came w. OS 5.0.0.732However, all the new email that i receive only let me "delete or cancel".I have the correct setting for the Email reconciliation: Delete On: Prompt Wireless Reconcile: On On Conflicts: Mailbox Wins Any help would be really appreciated. I know other people have reported this problem w. different OS's on different phones.
So this all started about two weeks ago. Every time i get a mms message from someone i get it first about 5-10 min after they send it, then again about 1-3 hours after they sent it. Ive tried several battery pulls, with no luck. Im running 5.0.0.591 (I know it has problems, but I couldnt get the Sprint upgrade figured out )
It looks like the Verizon PTT Software for the Tour is now available to download, at least for those running the proper version of OS 5.Go to the default Verizon home page on your Tour. For those who have changed it, it is: VZW Mobile Web
Click on Get Apps
Click on 16) Push To Talk
Click OK and Yes that you have the feature on your account.
I went to download it, and it says that I am missing the MPTT module. I am running .419, however from following the forums, I believe this module started showing up in the 2 most recent 5.0 leaks. So for anyone who wants to try this, go for it.
Blackberry Nation. I'm relatively new to the Blackberry and brand new to the forum.Am having difficulty with the voice command system after a few trouble free months.I've been getting a "System Busy. Try again later." message for a two days now, whether trying the phone itself or the Bluetooth.
I want to wipe my Blackberry but don't want to lose the info that is currently on there, so is this the correct way to go about this?
-Back up device using desktop manager -Back up contacts/calendar/etc. in outlook -Wipe using BBSAK -Install new OS -Contacts, messages, settings, etc. should be restored automatically after update?
This might be a stupid question, but I've done some searching and I can't find the answer.I have the Tour 9630, and if I choose to do the OTA update, will it wipe my device? Do I need to backup my e-mail's, contact's, ect?
I have had the BB9630 Tour for about 6 weeks. I have never been able to do a 3-way call. I have contacted tech support and they don't have an explanation. I tried my wife's 9630- same thing. Is anyone else able t make a 3-way call on Verizon. They said a wire could be loose somewher in the network causing the issue, but they have offered no solution.
I had a 9630 that was unlocked by Verizon in January 2010. I had it unlocked so I could use my SIM Card for Vodacom in South Africa which had a blackberry contract, inclusive of Data. I was in South Africa from January to Mid-September.The phone worked perfectly until May, upon which I had occasional cut-outs of BIS. By the end of May, I had suffered 2 weeks without internet. I filed many complaints with Vodacom, and the issue was even escalated to RIM. But I never had any progress. It worked for a day, sparatically. The issue continued until I left in Mid-September. Upon arriving back in the USA, my blackberry worked perfectly on my CDMA Verizon contract, but I am planning on returning to South Africa. I would like to know what this issue was, and how it can be fixed. Vodacom and Vodaworld (a Tech World for Vodacom) could not do much, as the phone was American and, though there are many people in South Africa with the same phone, all have suffered the same problem. We also upgraded to OS 5 and reverted to the previous OS 4 to try see if it would make a difference. As a side note, I was able to use WAP browsing, which I had to pay for, but the BIS didn't work, no matter how many HRT or battery pull restarts I attempted.
I needed to do a security wipe on my phone, I wanted it back to factory settings, like right out of the box. I was running OS 5.0.0.419, and went to Options > Security > and used the Security Wipe option. I chose to wipe contacts, emails, and device data. I did not choose to wipe the media/sd card though. Only device memory was to be wiped.I see the "Erasing information... Warning: Do not pull the battery out until erasing is complete" message, but it has been going on for about 2 hours now. Should it be taking this long?
I see the hourglass spinning, then it disappears, then in a bit comes back...I read online that it normally takes about an hour to do this, but I'm going on 2 hours now and it's still isn't finished. What would happen if I removed the battery while it's in the middle of this? I can't tell if it's frozen up or not, I've never seen it take this long to do a wipe.
My friend have presented me a Verizon BB9630 unlocked that he've purchsed on e-bay in USA. I've registered BIS in local provider (MTS Russia) and now I have following problem. BIS is working only after I switch of GPRS service on my sim-card (GSM). And once GPRS is enabled BIS is not working.
Is there any solution for this problem or this phone is unable to work in Russian network in a way when GPRS Internet and BIS exist simultaneousely.
I see the official software for the Tour stickied up top is for Sprint. Is there a good 5.0 software for Verizon Tours at this time? Or is the issue of returning your Tour to Verizon still an issue?
I have a customer with a Tour 9630 on Verizon Wireless. Anytime he enables the geotagging under the camera options it doesn't work. Location on setting is enabled. The camera always shows a gps symbol with a red X.
My good friend just called me all confused. She is on Verizon and told me that a Verizon rep told her today that Verizon customers can no longer get texts from T Mobile. This can't be true? She has a blackberry curve and I don't know what phone he has, but she has received texts from him up until today.
Maybe this is in the VZW Tour 5.0 software thread or something, but after completing the software upgrade, when I receive emails through my Gmail account and decide to delete an email, I am no longer getting the option to delete from the mailbox, the device, or both, although the option is set uo from this particular email account. I'm not having any problems with the Yahoo email account. I've removed the email and readded it on the phone as well as on the Blackberry Internet Server website.
I am having trouble clicking on things using the bb browser such as links after the upgrade and pages are loading in their full format sometimes instead of loading the mobile site, what's going on?
I've researched my problem on other posts, and still not completely sure if my problem is unique or not.I have an unlocked Sprint 9630 I grabbed from our IT department before a trip to Turkey. It was supposedly deactivated - turns out it is still active on a Sprint number.
I've replaced the Sprint SIM with an Avea Turkish prepaid SIM that has data and Blackberry capability. It works fine for phone and text, but no ability to register the email with Avea Blackberry. Tech support there unable to determine the problem (unable to connect to server is the error message, both with phone and online). If I can deactive the Sprint number will that help? Or am I just out of luck.
My tour likes to just stop working every once in a while. Case in point: on long drives through the country, i'll be listening to pandora for 4 hours straight then all of a sudden it will stop loading. then i'll notice that teh web browser wont load websites, ubertwitter wont load, facebook wont load, etc etc. The only thing that makes everything work again is to do a battery pull but of course this gets old.Anyone know what the problem is here or anything? I feel like maybe i'm using "too much data at one time" but in all honestly I dont think that's right.
I cant get past step 4 using "official" motorola directions to clear the cache partition after upgrading to 5.0.
"1. With the phone powered off, press the VOL DOWN KEY for 2-3 seconds then POWER key then release.
2. The device will display different BOOT OPTIONS
3. Use the VOL DOWN Key to SCROLL to Recovery and VOL UP Key to select
Tip: If the device reboots, you may have waited to long to make a selection, you will need to begin the process again.
4. The device will display the Motorola logo and then the Android in distress ( logo with Exclamation mark)
5. Press and hold the VOL UP key for 10-15 seconds. While still holding the VOL UP key tap and release the POWER key
Tip: You can try this step, holding the phone in landscape. If you are stuck on step 6, try a force reboot by pressing the Power key and Vol Down key, and start the process again.
6. The device will display additional menu options (Text will appear in BLUE)
7. Use the VOL DOWN Key to scroll to wipe cache partition and the POWER Key to select this option
8. The device will then perform the partition wipe
9. The device will reboot and start the normal power up sequence
