My good friend just called me all confused. She is on Verizon and told me that a Verizon rep told her today that Verizon customers can no longer get texts from T Mobile.This can't be true? She has a blackberry curve and I don't know what phone he has, but she has received texts from him up until today.

I just used my upgrade on the verizon blackberry tour 9630, I'm a big texter and absolutely LOVED my env2! Any helpful hints? Advice to a new user? I actually will not get my phone till next week.

Every time i get a mms message from someone i get it first about 5-10 min after they send it, then again about 1-3 hours after they sent it. Ive tried several battery pulls, with no luck. I went to download it, and it says that I am missing the MPTT module. I am running .419, however from following the forums, I believe this module started showing up in the 2 most recent 5.0 leaks. So for anyone who wants to try this, go for it.
I have had the BB9630 Tour for about 6 weeks. I have never been able to do a 3-way call. I have contacted tech support and they don't have an explanation. I tried my wife's 9630- same thing. Is anyone else able t make a 3-way call on Verizon. They said a wire could be loose somewher in the network causing the issue, but they have offered no solution.

I had it unlocked so I could use my SIM Card for Vodacom in South Africa which had a blackberry contract, inclusive of Data. I was in South Africa from January to Mid-September.The phone worked perfectly until May, upon which I had occasional cut-outs of BIS. By the end of May, I had suffered 2 weeks without internet. I filed many complaints with Vodacom, and the issue was even escalated to RIM. But I never had any progress. It worked for a day, sparatically. The issue continued until I left in Mid-September. Upon arriving back in the USA, my blackberry worked perfectly on my CDMA Verizon contract,but I am planning on returning to South Africa. I would like to know what this issue was, and how it can be fixed. Vodacom and Vodaworld (a Tech World for Vodacom) could not do much, as the phone was American and, though there are many people in South Africa with the same phone, all have suffered the same problem. We also upgraded to OS 5 and reverted to the previous OS 4 to try see if it would make a difference.As a side note, I was able to use WAP browsing, which I had to pay for, but the BIS didn't work, no matter how many HRT or battery pull restarts I attempted.

I've registered BIS in local provider (MTS Russia) and now I have following problem. BIS is working only after I switch of GPRS service on my sim-card (GSM). And once GPRS is enabled BIS is not working.
Is there any solution for this problem or this phone is unable to work in Russian network in a way when GPRS Internet and BIS exist simultaneousely.
I can send and people get my texts, but now cannot receive them unless I use the Crunch SMS program. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

I can access the device from Desktop Manager, and I can run exe.Autoloader/factoryreset from the Windows command prompt.
However, this does not remove the Verizon phone number from the device. Verizon won't work with the phone because the screen is cracked.
What's the correct way to wipe the Verizon data from the command prompt?
Used to be able to use P or N to go to the prior or next email, but now it's not working. Any suggestions on how to get that back?

I can reply to older ones...I cn SMS and MMS.When I try to send...The only option offered is to "save as draft" and when I do...the email address is wiped or missing.

I haven't changed any settings recently. I've pulled the battery several times.
I have been using the blackberry services from Airtel on my TOUR 9630 from the last 5 - 6 months with no issues. I have a prepaid connection and I usually recharge my account with sufficient balance so that the blackberry services are automatically renewed. However, I missed to re-charge last month and thereby the service was de-activated.
I tried to re-activate to the service 3 days back and I also got a succesfully activated message from Airtel. But my mails were still not synced also I was unable to send any mails.
On contacting the Airtel Blackberry Customer Service I got to know that blackberry services are no longer supported on 9630 model and the amount that has been deducted already can be used if I move my sim to a different blackberry device. This is definitely not acceptable.
Has blackberry actually discontinued its service for TOUR 9630 ? If so what will the existing users do ? And why at all the amount is deducted if the model is not supported at all ?
First off just wanted to say hi, just bought my first ever blackberry (tour) a couple days ago and love it. My wife got one for work and I fell in love with it and needed to get one. She has the Curve 8530??? (not sure on model the second one.) Anyway I was wondering if there was anyway to set my read text message how the curve display them. With blue and white bars, and it groups them all to the same person instead of by most recent. I would to go to my messages and just have them group all by person with the ongoing conversation like the cure, does where as my tour just puts last sent/received at top. Any ideas?

View 11 Replies View RelatedAnyone out there with OS 5.0 tried the Gmail Mobile App yet (not Gmail IMAP w/BIS)? The problem the Tour has always had is the notifications for Gmail don't work or if they work when the Gmail Mobile App is first installed, they get lost as soon as the phone is rebooted. Then even uninstalling Gmail and reinstalling it doesn't fix it. If it's working on your Tour with OS 5.0, after a phone restart, do you still have Gmail Messages as a choice under "Profile | Set Ring Tones/Alerts | Other? What typically happens is the "Gmail Messages" doesn't display unter "Other" so you can't change email notifications, LED settings, nothing regarding the Gmail Mobile App.(don't recommend I use Gmail IMAP w/BIS..at least not unless it's October already and RIM has added all the Gmail features that are still missing
View 10 Replies View RelatedI used to own beyond160, it stopped working when I went to OS5.419, anyway.Yesterday, Monday, I was typing an SMS, I dropped by phone, but when I picked it up I noticed something different. Underneath the name in the SMS where it shows the characters left in an SMS, it said "160 (1/6)". I was able to type, the 160 would count down, and once I passed the 160 mark it said "160 (2/6)". I opened new SMS threads, exited in and out of messages, was able to span texts.This support for spanning texts came out of nowhere, but I look at my phone now, and it's gone! back to 160 and saying Field Full after I finish typing.

Everything seems to be working fine, except now I'm getting the problem that the enhanced g-mail plugin isn't working correctly. I have it installed, but it doesn't seem to add any options for stars, labels, etc. It's listed in the applications page in the options, so I'm not sure what to do. I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it countless times and did a battery pull after each. Does anyone know what may be causing this problem?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently updated my sprint 9630 to v. 5.0.0.1030 (bundle 1675, platform 4.2.0.451). My desktop manager no longer recognizes the phone when I plug it in. My laptop rcognizes that the phone is plugged and it is charging the phone as well, but the software doesn't work. It keeps telling me that it is disconnected. When I run update for the desktop software it says I have the latest version installed. It still shows that my device software version is 5.0.0.983. I have turned off my firewall temporarily, rebooted the laptop, did a battery pull on the phone and nothing works. It still does not recognize the phone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy biggest complaint against BB was the ultra slow page load times that I would sit on the 'Requesting...' screen for ages and ages, sometimes refreshing it a few times it would finally get going to download the page. Well I went to Verizon today and talked withe tech he asked if I tried setting Mobile Network from Global to 1XEV. I said no and went ahead and did that, and wow what a difference. I was surfing on my BB for the past 30mins, the 'Requesting...' stays for less then 2 seconds before proceeding, the webpage seems to download faster, and it's so much better. I was also having the occasional issue where my antenna bars would suddenly disappear for a minute status would say 115dBm and then would popup back to 4-5 bars, that problem was resolved as well it seems. The tech at vzw said it was because in global the phone is alway searching to connect to both network or something.

Everything works browser, txt, MMS, calls, even my weather app. Just every time I try to log into Facebook, it tells me "Could not connect because a data service is not available. Please try again later. If this continues, contact your service provider for support".I came from a Tmo BB Curve so the service was already there. I re-registered on the BB network, resent the service books from the web and from my phone, did hard re-starts, went online to My Tmobile and updated the IMEI. I uninstalled the app from the phone, performed a hard reset, then reinstalled the app from the Blackberry App Store.
