BB Tour 9630 :: Download Maps For Tour From Site?
May 2, 2010Where the heck do I download BB Maps for the Tour? I went to the BB site, and it almost looks like they don't want you using it with the Tour. The link they sent me was for some LBS Ribbon or something not the maps program.

I went to download it, and it says that I am missing the MPTT module. I am running .419, however from following the forums, I believe this module started showing up in the 2 most recent 5.0 leaks. So for anyone who wants to try this, go for it.
BB Tour 9630 :: OS 5.0 And Gmail Mobile App?
Mar 30, 2010Anyone out there with OS 5.0 tried the Gmail Mobile App yet (not Gmail IMAP w/BIS)? The problem the Tour has always had is the notifications for Gmail don't work or if they work when the Gmail Mobile App is first installed, they get lost as soon as the phone is rebooted. Then even uninstalling Gmail and reinstalling it doesn't fix it. If it's working on your Tour with OS 5.0, after a phone restart, do you still have Gmail Messages as a choice under "Profile | Set Ring Tones/Alerts | Other? What typically happens is the "Gmail Messages" doesn't display unter "Other" so you can't change email notifications, LED settings, nothing regarding the Gmail Mobile App.(don't recommend I use Gmail IMAP w/BIS..at least not unless it's October already and RIM has added all the Gmail features that are still missing

But now, my tour will randomly disconnect from the wireless network and say it's "searching for CDMA" or when it does connect to the network, It won't connect to 1XEV, so I can't use data or anything. Aug 26, 2010My biggest complaint against BB was the ultra slow page load times that I would sit on the 'Requesting...' screen for ages and ages, sometimes refreshing it a few times it would finally get going to download the page. Well I went to Verizon today and talked withe tech he asked if I tried setting Mobile Network from Global to 1XEV. I said no and went ahead and did that, and wow what a difference. I was surfing on my BB for the past 30mins, the 'Requesting...' stays for less then 2 seconds before proceeding, the webpage seems to download faster, and it's so much better. I was also having the occasional issue where my antenna bars would suddenly disappear for a minute status would say 115dBm and then would popup back to 4-5 bars, that problem was resolved as well it seems. The tech at vzw said it was because in global the phone is alway searching to connect to both network or something.

Jun 8, 2010Recently got my hands on a unlocked 9630 from a Sprint buddy. Everything works browser, txt, MMS, calls, even my weather app. Just every time I try to log into Facebook, it tells me "Could not connect because a data service is not available. Please try again later. If this continues, contact your service provider for support".I came from a Tmo BB Curve so the service was already there. I re-registered on the BB network, resent the service books from the web and from my phone, did hard re-starts, went online to My Tmobile and updated the IMEI. I uninstalled the app from the phone, performed a hard reset, then reinstalled the app from the Blackberry App Store.

Jul 31, 2010Bank of America made changes to their server and thats when we started to have trouble. I just got off the phone with Bank Of America customer support and got no help at all they said Bank Of America didn't have any one to troubleshoot the mobile website. I told them that a lot of BlackBerry users were having trouble getting onto the mobile site and the guy said sorry we can't help you unless you are on a computer. That is just sorry of bank of America not to offer support.
We need to contact some one higher in the company to get some help so if you know some one please contact them this is retarded. Here is the latest when I try to log on to bank of America regular site / for security reasons your device can't access mobile banking. Two weeks ago I didn't have any trouble getting onto the Mobile site this is crazy.
BB Tour 9630 :: Sprint On Boost Mobile - Provision - Update Profile Or List
Jul 20, 2010so I just recently update from 4.7 to 5.0.0.732. I can't get the darn thing to provision to save its life. I don't have BIS/BES since it's on Boost but the data did work before, at one point at least As of right now I can make/answer calls, send/receive SMS. No MMS and no Web, GPS, etc. My status says 1xev and I need it to say 1XEV. Whenever I try to Register Now (Host Routing Table) it never provisions, whenever I attempt to Update Profile, or Update Preferred List it says that it can't complete request. Any options I need to change or steps to take different? BTW Data did work on 4.7 and 5.0.0.6## and people have reported that it does work on .732

I changed the housing in my Tour to make it white but the trackball doesn't sit right and i have a problem scrolling down. Feb 12, 2010I've developed a problem with my 9630 (carrier: Sprint) recently. I won't receive emails on it for quite a while, but once I open my Internet browser, all of the emails I received since the last time I opened it will come through at once. If I check my messages, they're all listed as coming through at the same time, but inside the email, they're datestamped at the actual time they were sent.
Any ideas as to what it could be? I haven't changed any settings recently, the problem started independent of anything else, from what I can tell. It seems like a problem with my phone not checking for new emails until it uses data services (internet browser).

May 30, 2010I've researched my problem on other posts, and still not completely sure if my problem is unique or not.I have an unlocked Sprint 9630 I grabbed from our IT department before a trip to Turkey. It was supposedly deactivated - turns out it is still active on a Sprint number.
I've replaced the Sprint SIM with an Avea Turkish prepaid SIM that has data and Blackberry capability. It works fine for phone and text, but no ability to register the email with Avea Blackberry. Tech support there unable to determine the problem (unable to connect to server is the error message, both with phone and online).If I can deactive the Sprint number will that help? Or am I just out of luck.
BB Tour 9630 :: Tour Is Typing Hlhlhl On Its Own - Buttons And Trackball Unresponsive
Jan 25, 2010I have an issue with my BB Tour.When I woke up this mourning and took my bb off the charger.I notice there were HLhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhhlhl type on my bb so I tried to press the esc button and the end button and it didn't work. So I did a Battery pull and let it load up...and that when i found out that my trackball wasn't working.then all a sudden it started to type the HLlhlhlhlhlhlhhlhlh again.So I did a another battery pull and it did it again.So I wiped the phone decided to install 5.0 on my phone and I get the same thing.The only thing I did before my phone went hay wire was a couple days prior.I downloaded a couple free themes and screen saver from BB App World.I thought by doing the battery pull and wipe I would fix it but didn't. I know I didn't get my phone wet or anything can anybody explain this?

Jul 14, 2010I just updated the software on my Blackberry Tour and now my calendar is behaving as it did two software generics ago! Specifically, when I change and appointment to a future date and then save that appointment, the calendar moves to that future date! This is terrible if you are moving several items out to future dates! Previously, the changed entry would just disappear from the screen (moved to the new, future date) and I would remain on the day I was working on.Secondly, when I open a future day in calendar, the “All Day Events” do not show first (as they used to). Instead you have to scroll up to see if there are any of these type events.Does anyone know of a way to change these settings/defaults.

Mar 12, 2010Just went from a storm 1 to a tour and I am loving it. I can't believe how much more app. memory I have!
However, I cannot get my tour device to show up in windows explorer. It connects and I can browse my media card. There is no drive in windows explorer for the device itself. I can connect to desktop manager and back-up my device memory so I know the computer can read my blackberry device. I upgraded the os with no problems.
I am running vista home premium with blackberry os 5.0 from sprint. I am on verizon. I do have mass storage mode enabled and all of those memory settings set to yes (auto connect, etc.). BBSAK and Blackberry Master Control Program see the device as well. I do not use roxio media manager and it is not installed with my desktop manager. It was too slow and clunky when I had my storm so I never bothered with it.
