BB Tour 9630 :: No Longer Have Option To Send Media Via Bluetooth
Apr 15, 2010Since upgrading to the 5.0 software I no longer have the option to send media via bluetooth. Can anyone provide guidance on how to get this feature back?

BB Tour 9630 :: No Longer Able To Send A New Email
Jun 10, 2010Two-three days ago I could send emails new, reply to older ones, etc,Today my Tour just will not send new emails. I can reply to older ones...I cn SMS and MMS.When I try to send...The only option offered is to "save as draft" and when I do...the email address is wiped or missing.
I'm on OS 5 Verizon.
I haven't changed any settings recently. I've pulled the battery several times.
BB Tour 9630 :: Bluetooth Option Disabled In DM - OS 5.0
Jul 11, 2010Bluetooth radio is turned on. I've discovered my device but the Desktop software only has the option to connect by USB. Ver 5.0. During installation there is no option to choose what type of connection you want. I see there are options to choose between USB and Bluetooth or both, however they are grayed out. I have a successful USB connection. Everything works fine but I want to go wireless.
Running on Toshiba Sattelite laptop with Vista 32bit ultimate OS
Toshiba Bluetooth stack is turned on but it's Toshiba's - not microsoft (don't know if that matters)
Device is found and paired. I have this same problem on 2 computers running different OS, my laptop has Vista ( a Toshiba) & my desktop has XP (HP). I don't get it as I have tried every configuration I can think of. It can SEE the BB but no option to enable bluetooth, only none or USB. I'm assuming it may be the BB os 5.0?

I mean I cant have like all messages separetly, they all go to 1 message like a chat and I cant answer to just 1 person. I saw some videos that send me to options, sms and email inbox, but I dont have that option. What can I do plz help me.

Mar 12, 2010Just went from a storm 1 to a tour and I am loving it. I can't believe how much more app. memory I have!
However, I cannot get my tour device to show up in windows explorer. It connects and I can browse my media card. There is no drive in windows explorer for the device itself. I can connect to desktop manager and back-up my device memory so I know the computer can read my blackberry device. I upgraded the os with no problems.
I am running vista home premium with blackberry os 5.0 from sprint. I am on verizon. I do have mass storage mode enabled and all of those memory settings set to yes (auto connect, etc.). BBSAK and Blackberry Master Control Program see the device as well. I do not use roxio media manager and it is not installed with my desktop manager. It was too slow and clunky when I had my storm so I never bothered with it.
BB Tour 9630 :: Tour 5.0 Bluetooth Stack Fails With All Headsets?
Apr 20, 2010And apparently RIM is aware of this bad Bluetooth stack? This is what BlueAnt tech support is telling me and that it's BlackBerry's problem. I have a Tour running 5.0 and have never had an issue with any Bluetooth headset except the BlueAnt Z9i. My BlueAnt Z9i does seem to work fine on 4.7, but I'll chuck the Z9i in the can before I stick w/4.7 for any longer than testing purposes! BlueAnt said I should contact RIM for details on a solution; however, I see no reasonable means to directly contact RIM tech support?And since this is RIM's official support forums, unless I'm mistaken? Does anyone know anything about this faulty Bluetooth in 5.0 on the Tour and Storm 2 that causes random issues with Bluetooth headsets? Random issues are: Random beeps, buttons on headset being unresponsive, sound and mic not working, and hang-ups. These are all completely random issues the button unresponsiveness can be fixed by disconnecting the Bluetooth headset from the BlackBerry device via the BlackBerry device. And then the headset buttons will work again, enabling the headset to be powered down, etc This is of course a fix until it randomly happens again the next time it's paired to the Tour running 5.0!"As you know this is a specific issue with Blackberry tour (9630) and storm 2 phones using 5.0 OS, no updating of BlueAnt products will help as it's a fault with the phone." BlueAnt said "I believe It occurs on almost all Bluetooth devices within anything from one weeks to two months of pairing with a Blackberry tour using 5.0." BlueAnt said "Just to re-cap: the issues with the tour happen with all BlueAnt products: Q1, V1, Z9i etc And I've heard from consumers that called in it also occurs on Jabra's and Jawbones etc.We know that Blackberry know about the issue so if you contact them they should shed some light on it." Aug 12, 2010Ok, media card was working fine, had alot of work pictures stored on it and was becoming a hassle to hunt through all of them to find what I wanted. So, I inserted media card in computer and transfered what I wanted to a folder on the computer. Then I formatted the card using the computer. When I put the card back into the phone, the phone knows its there, but I must have wiped the card completely as none of the folders for video, pics, etc. are on it anymore. If I take a picture and go to find it, the media card does not even show up, just device memory.
Does anybody have a remedy for this? I already tried formatting the card in the phone but that didn't work. The phone is telling me in the memory options that 1.8GB is free, so I know it works, it just lost the folders or whatever........
BB Tour :: Services No Longer Supported On 9630?
Apr 13, 2012I have been using the blackberry services from Airtel on my TOUR 9630 from the last 5 - 6 months with no issues. I have a prepaid connection and I usually recharge my account with sufficient balance so that the blackberry services are automatically renewed. However, I missed to re-charge last month and thereby the service was de-activated.
I tried to re-activate to the service 3 days back and I also got a succesfully activated message from Airtel. But my mails were still not synced also I was unable to send any mails.
On contacting the Airtel Blackberry Customer Service I got to know that blackberry services are no longer supported on 9630 model and the amount that has been deducted already can be used if I move my sim to a different blackberry device. This is definitely not acceptable.
Has blackberry actually discontinued its service for TOUR 9630 ? If so what will the existing users do ? And why at all the amount is deducted if the model is not supported at all ?
BB Tour 9630 :: Longer Than 160 Character Support Build Into OS?
Jun 1, 2010I used to own beyond160, it stopped working when I went to OS5.419, anyway.Yesterday, Monday, I was typing an SMS, I dropped by phone, but when I picked it up I noticed something different. Underneath the name in the SMS where it shows the characters left in an SMS, it said "160 (1/6)". I was able to type, the 160 would count down, and once I passed the 160 mark it said "160 (2/6)". I opened new SMS threads, exited in and out of messages, was able to span texts.This support for spanning texts came out of nowhere, but I look at my phone now, and it's gone! back to 160 and saying Field Full after I finish typing.

Mar 14, 2010So today I had a unrecoverable 552 error and decided to just upgrade Sprint's 5.0 OS. Everything seems to be working fine, except now I'm getting the problem that the enhanced g-mail plugin isn't working correctly. I have it installed, but it doesn't seem to add any options for stars, labels, etc. It's listed in the applications page in the options, so I'm not sure what to do. I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it countless times and did a battery pull after each. Does anyone know what may be causing this problem?

Dec 30, 2010I recently updated my sprint 9630 to v. 5.0.0.1030 (bundle 1675, platform 4.2.0.451). My desktop manager no longer recognizes the phone when I plug it in. My laptop rcognizes that the phone is plugged and it is charging the phone as well, but the software doesn't work. It keeps telling me that it is disconnected. When I run update for the desktop software it says I have the latest version installed. It still shows that my device software version is 5.0.0.983. I have turned off my firewall temporarily, rebooted the laptop, did a battery pull on the phone and nothing works. It still does not recognize the phone.

Feb 26, 2010I have not found in a search where this is covered, so here goes While plugged into my USB port my Tour defaults to the Ringer_ClassicPhone Ringtone. It sounds horrible. But while plugged into the USB, it can not access my ringtones on the mediacard, where all of my defaults for SMS, Phone, and Email are located. So, the question, is there a way to import external, i.e. .wav's or .mp3's on a media card, to the Tours onboard memory so that the device can access them even plugged in. Yea - I know - how long can a phone be plugged in and is this really an issue. Yes - it is - to me. On a busy day at work, I will often plug my phone into the USB at my PC to charge it some, especially if it is getting into the 50% range, and it is not noon yet.

Apr 10, 2010How come it now requires a media card to take videos with the Blackberry Tour? It didn't before the update, which I'm really not a fan of because of the changes to SMS messages.Is there a way to change this so the videos save directly on the phone like they used to? Or am I going to need a new way to take videos from now on. I don't really care about the videos I lost, since anything that I wanted from those I email to myself anyway, but I'd like to be able to take new videos.
If there's no direct fix to that is there a way to change back to the old OS before the update? Because, frankly, I don't like this one at all. It added nothing of any value and destroyed the ability for me to take videos and made the text messages screen look insanely dumb.
