My cousin (she has a Samsung Gravity) was saying we can share files through bluetooth? I remember doing it on my Sidekick, but now I can only receive files, not send?
View 4 RepliesEvery time I try to send one, it goes to pending for a short time (occasionally flashing the "sending" symbol but only for about half a second) and then shows the big "X" along with "Retries exceeded" or something like that.

This morning I went to start a new email and usually I type the first letter and all contacts starting with a letter J for example will come up - - But nothing comes up! I checked my phonebook and all contacts are in there like normal, but my email won't pick any up. I can type the whole name of a person I want to email and it's not linking it to my contact list/phone book like normal.

I have the options to send the files but whenever I do so it would say file transfer failed to the other phone I"m sending the file to. At bluetooth settings, it says 'paired but not connected'. Prior to update I was able to receive files but after so I can do neither.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Z3+ and a Z3 tablet compact.When I tried to share by bluetooth some photo and video 4k that I recorded with the Z3+ on my Z3 tablet.
It's seem works fine but when I open the file got, the picture or the video is ruined at 99%.Whatever the file I share If I directly use bluetooth sharing, the result will be like this one.But If I share the same content using NFC, The files I got is fine.
My Z3+ and my Tablet are up to date, and even I reset them to factory, I encounter the same problem.Must be a bug of xperia software in Z3+..
And apparently RIM is aware of this bad Bluetooth stack? This is what BlueAnt tech support is telling me and that it's BlackBerry's problem. I have a Tour running 5.0 and have never had an issue with any Bluetooth headset except the BlueAnt Z9i. My BlueAnt Z9i does seem to work fine on 4.7, but I'll chuck the Z9i in the can before I stick w/4.7 for any longer than testing purposes! BlueAnt said I should contact RIM for details on a solution; however, I see no reasonable means to directly contact RIM tech support?And since this is RIM's official support forums, unless I'm mistaken? Does anyone know anything about this faulty Bluetooth in 5.0 on the Tour and Storm 2 that causes random issues with Bluetooth headsets? Random issues are: Random beeps, buttons on headset being unresponsive, sound and mic not working, and hang-ups. These are all completely random issues the button unresponsiveness can be fixed by disconnecting the Bluetooth headset from the BlackBerry device via the BlackBerry device. And then the headset buttons will work again, enabling the headset to be powered down, etc This is of course a fix until it randomly happens again the next time it's paired to the Tour running 5.0!"As you know this is a specific issue with Blackberry tour (9630) and storm 2 phones using 5.0 OS, no updating of BlueAnt products will help as it's a fault with the phone." BlueAnt said "I believe It occurs on almost all Bluetooth devices within anything from one weeks to two months of pairing with a Blackberry tour using 5.0." BlueAnt said "Just to re-cap: the issues with the tour happen with all BlueAnt products: Q1, V1, Z9i etc And I've heard from consumers that called in it also occurs on Jabra's and Jawbones etc.We know that Blackberry know about the issue so if you contact them they should shed some light on it." I've updated the service books, tables, deleted my email account, created a new one, books and tables again, pulled the battery, everything. Nothing seems to work.I was getting all my emails last week and over the weekend I've just started to get only a few (call it 2/7 on average). Can anyone help me with what is going on?! This is very frustrating and the Verizon guys are about as helpful as rocks.

I cannot receive or make calls, send or receive emails or text messages. I have reset everything and even did the *228 thing but nothing. I have to drive around the block to make a phone call. Any advice for me besides throwing it out the window?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem opening attachments in my emails. They are usually jpg or png files, which I have never had an issue opening before. I choose "open attachment" from the menu, and the little red clock that appears next to the file just stays there. If i click the trackball, i get a prompt to resend the request, but clicking "yes" doesn't do anything. I recently upgraded to leaked OS .662, but I'm not convinced that is the problem because a coworker has OS 4.7.1.40 (original OS) and he is also experiencing the same problem.

Do the tunes, voices, sounds, whatever actually exist in some fashion on your Tour? Or are they really coming from no where on your bb? What I'm trying to figure out, is a number of these "appended" sound files sound obscene or raunchy. So might it be some actual contamination of the OS or are these SOUNDS from things on folks BB's? Yes, I'm sure some folks have "cute" sound files or were sent such files but maybe it is more than that. Maybe the OS really was inappropriately tweaked.

I can't figure out how (probably a stupid question).Also, i created a sheet to go file on the tour and want to transfer it to my computer. I see no options in desktop manager how to do it. I can get my Plantronics 520 headset to pair Fine with the Blackberry but when I try to make a call or get any sound to or from the headset it doesn't work. I've tried the headset on other phones and it works fine. I tried repairing, Pulling the battery, removing all the other profiles and then repairing the device. I've even tried upgrading the OS to .484 from .419 and nothing seems to work. I know the bluetooth has worked in the past just not sure how long it's been since it has stopped working.

View 3 Replies View RelatedBluetooth radio is turned on. I've discovered my device but the Desktop software only has the option to connect by USB. Ver 5.0. During installation there is no option to choose what type of connection you want. I see there are options to choose between USB and Bluetooth or both, however they are grayed out. I have a successful USB connection. Everything works fine but I want to go wireless.

Device is found and paired. I have this same problem on 2 computers running different OS, my laptop has Vista ( a Toshiba) & my desktop has XP (HP). I don't get it as I have tried every configuration I can think of. It can SEE the BB but no option to enable bluetooth, only none or USB. I'm assuming it may be the BB os 5.0?

I can reply to older ones...I cn SMS and MMS.When I try to send...The only option offered is to "save as draft" and when I do...the email address is wiped or missing.

I am receiving an error message when I attempt to sms which reads: Invalid mandatory information. I am able to receive text messages, e-mails and BBM, I just can't send SMS.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOkay, so it is a bit ironic that I am posting this question, as I have been helping others here on CB with BT/USB tethering for quite some time now. However, it looks as if the tables have turned!
Like many have reported over the past few months, Sprint has finally turned off the "back-door" free tethering connection that has been working for many years via BT and USB for many, many people. Over the years, I have activated and deactivated the "phone as modem" add-on several times, usually only when needed. Just last week, I called into CS and had them flip the switch ON.
My Tour was already setup for BT modem, and connected just fine, and since I turned it on, I have used the service many times. HOWEVER - just the other day, I tried to connect and my Tour's screen flashed white, and said "Connecting to desktop". I could not exit out of this screen, and also could not connect to the phone via BT to use as a modem. The blue BT light was flickering, and the computer was trying to connect for about 30 seconds, before failing - and once failed, the white screen went away, and the home screen reappeared.
I have NEVER seen this screen before - not even when connecting the phone via USB to the DM in either Windows or Mac. I am not sure what has happened since last week. I have not installed a new OS, nor have I changed any settings on the phone or in DM. Very odd!
I would appreciate any help or insight into this matter. I have already tried pairing the phone with the computer again - but still every time I go to connect via BT, the phone is now displaying the "Connecting to desktop" message with a white background. So weird! I am using Snow Leopard with a hybrid OS. Neither one of these factors should be the root of any issue - as I said earlier, just last week things were working fine - and I have made NO changes whatsoever since.
Only new apps downloaded since have been Bold, Opera, and QuickPull - however, I cannot imagine any of these apps to be interfering with tethering. I have tried battery pulls, and reconfiguring bluetooth settings - all to no avail.
I need to know what I am doing wrong, my bluetooth does not work with other blackberries or other bluetooth cell phones when transfering files. I need help!
