BB (RIM) :: Tour 9630 - Bluetooth Not Working

I have a tour running OS 5.0.484. I can get my Plantronics 520 headset to pair Fine with the Blackberry but when I try to make a call or get any sound to or from the headset it doesn't work. I've tried the headset on other phones and it works fine. I tried repairing, Pulling the battery, removing all the other profiles and then repairing the device. I've even tried upgrading the OS to .484 from .419 and nothing seems to work. I know the bluetooth has worked in the past just not sure how long it's been since it has stopped working.

And apparently RIM is aware of this bad Bluetooth stack? This is what BlueAnt tech support is telling me and that it's BlackBerry's problem. I have a Tour running 5.0 and have never had an issue with any Bluetooth headset except the BlueAnt Z9i. My BlueAnt Z9i does seem to work fine on 4.7, but I'll chuck the Z9i in the can before I stick w/4.7 for any longer than testing purposes! BlueAnt said I should contact RIM for details on a solution; however, I see no reasonable means to directly contact RIM tech support?And since this is RIM's official support forums, unless I'm mistaken? Does anyone know anything about this faulty Bluetooth in 5.0 on the Tour and Storm 2 that causes random issues with Bluetooth headsets? Random issues are: Random beeps, buttons on headset being unresponsive, sound and mic not working, and hang-ups. These are all completely random issues the button unresponsiveness can be fixed by disconnecting the Bluetooth headset from the BlackBerry device via the BlackBerry device. And then the headset buttons will work again, enabling the headset to be powered down, etc This is of course a fix until it randomly happens again the next time it's paired to the Tour running 5.0!"As you know this is a specific issue with Blackberry tour (9630) and storm 2 phones using 5.0 OS, no updating of BlueAnt products will help as it's a fault with the phone." BlueAnt said "I believe It occurs on almost all Bluetooth devices within anything from one weeks to two months of pairing with a Blackberry tour using 5.0." BlueAnt said "Just to re-cap: the issues with the tour happen with all BlueAnt products: Q1, V1, Z9i etc And I've heard from consumers that called in it also occurs on Jabra's and Jawbones etc.We know that Blackberry know about the issue so if you contact them they should shed some light on it." Bluetooth radio is turned on. I've discovered my device but the Desktop software only has the option to connect by USB. Ver 5.0. During installation there is no option to choose what type of connection you want. I see there are options to choose between USB and Bluetooth or both, however they are grayed out. I have a successful USB connection. Everything works fine but I want to go wireless.
Running on Toshiba Sattelite laptop with Vista 32bit ultimate OS
Toshiba Bluetooth stack is turned on but it's Toshiba's - not microsoft (don't know if that matters)
Device is found and paired. I have this same problem on 2 computers running different OS, my laptop has Vista ( a Toshiba) & my desktop has XP (HP). I don't get it as I have tried every configuration I can think of. It can SEE the BB but no option to enable bluetooth, only none or USB. I'm assuming it may be the BB os 5.0?

Okay, so it is a bit ironic that I am posting this question, as I have been helping others here on CB with BT/USB tethering for quite some time now. However, it looks as if the tables have turned!
Like many have reported over the past few months, Sprint has finally turned off the "back-door" free tethering connection that has been working for many years via BT and USB for many, many people. Over the years, I have activated and deactivated the "phone as modem" add-on several times, usually only when needed. Just last week, I called into CS and had them flip the switch ON.
My Tour was already setup for BT modem, and connected just fine, and since I turned it on, I have used the service many times. HOWEVER - just the other day, I tried to connect and my Tour's screen flashed white, and said "Connecting to desktop". I could not exit out of this screen, and also could not connect to the phone via BT to use as a modem. The blue BT light was flickering, and the computer was trying to connect for about 30 seconds, before failing - and once failed, the white screen went away, and the home screen reappeared.
I have NEVER seen this screen before - not even when connecting the phone via USB to the DM in either Windows or Mac. I am not sure what has happened since last week. I have not installed a new OS, nor have I changed any settings on the phone or in DM. Very odd!
I would appreciate any help or insight into this matter. I have already tried pairing the phone with the computer again - but still every time I go to connect via BT, the phone is now displaying the "Connecting to desktop" message with a white background. So weird! I am using Snow Leopard with a hybrid OS. Neither one of these factors should be the root of any issue - as I said earlier, just last week things were working fine - and I have made NO changes whatsoever since.
Only new apps downloaded since have been Bold, Opera, and QuickPull - however, I cannot imagine any of these apps to be interfering with tethering. I have tried battery pulls, and reconfiguring bluetooth settings - all to no avail.

A co-worker of mine recently had his blackberry tour replaced through verizon. He didn't have his phone backed up on his computer.........so they are gone. However...he does have his contacts in his navigation/bluetooth of his car. Does anyone have any idea on how to get the info from the car back his blackberry?

There has been many threads I read about the options menu and turning on the led and bedmode turning off. I tried all those things and my led still isn't working. Is there anything else I still havnt. Done yet. Is it possible for the led to really be broken?

I have a Tour and recently the camera stopped working. The camera application will work, it will autofocus, and when I take the picture it shows up perfect on the screen but the after 2 seconds the picture will completely distort and just be a screen with a bunch of colors going across. Cannot even see the picture. Looks almost like a TV that has no reception. I tried sending the pic and it is still just the static looking screen. I have changed the settings for the picture quality and didnt change anything. I pulled the battery and did a hard restart and no change. Any ideas? I would take it in to Verizon but I bought it 3rd party and it has no warranty.

My tour was running low on battery last night, so I plugged it in, fell asleep, and had a nap. When I woke up, it was completely dead!No usb cord I have works to charge it, there is no red led lit up when I insert the battery. just nothing. It doesn't connect to the computer, jl_cmder wont connect, and app load wont connect using the trick if jl_cmder doesn't work.I got it first when it came out, or just a few days after, and it was fine. One night I dropped it and some water got in and set off the water sticker inside, but like I said it worked fine nothing happened to it. On the battery, the white sticker with the red line is completely faded to almost just a white sticker?? Is this sticker a heat sensitive one?

i just noticed that my phone isn't ringing anymore. only vibrating. after checking it i realized that all of my sounds have stopped working including ringer,alerts,notifications,speakerphone, video sounds, etc.i'm using a 9630 tour running v.5.0.0.591 on vzw. i've searched the forums but haven't had any luck finding the issue unless it is a 5.0 os issue. i updated to 5.0 when vzw pushed it a few weeks ago and the sounds were still working afterward. the last time i can remember hearing sounds was on sunday when i was watching a Internet vid.

Audio jack on my Tour. I have used the headphones that come with the device, a generic set of ear buds and a car adapter. Never had any problem with any of them until this morning. Plugged in the BB headset while at the gym and they never engaged. Music was playing over internal speaker but could not get it to come through headphones.I switched to the generic set but same thing happened. On the way home, same thing happened with the car adapter. I have tried wiggling the jacks when putting them in, battery pull and making sure everything except defaults are closed with no luck.

Installed the new Verizon update a few days ago and iheartradio isnt working.If I choose a channel it says buffering but then doesnt play anything.I have reinstalled and still the same issue.

I feel lame starting yet another specific 5.0 thread but I have been on here since early this morning and a little last night and didnt see this.
There's a few threads talking about the lock screen being different or non-existent on 5.0
I have Keyboard Locker installed and set to lock after 30 secs.. I waited over a minute and it didnt lock. the screen black but it's not locked.
Keyboard locker is a huge app for me to prevent pocket dialing since I dont use a holster and keep it in my pocket.

I Just got my BlackBerry 9630 Tour 3 days ago and I have used it only numerous times, usually plugged into The wall in The house. Later in The day yesterday The keys and trackball click stopped working, Just weird. The trackball will move The cursor on The screen but Nothing will click or select.I've tried everything from taking out The battery, The SIM card, The SD card, drying it. Nothing seems to work, I even deleted all data on The phone with desktop manager and it still doesn't work.

I have a Unlocked Tour 9630 which I am now using with FIDO . Everything on the phone seems to work EXCEPT . CALLER ID , which is driving me nuts , not knowing whose call I missed.
80% of people calling the phone it will say "UNKNOWN CALLER" . There are only a few of my contacts that their name will appear when calling . The rest of my contacts, although I have their numbers saved in my phone will still appear as "UNKNOWN"
I've done everything from , changing around my Smart Dialing to include my area code and canada as the country code . Encryption is disabled on the phone.
The Phone was originally Set up with VERIZON .

I have a BB Tour 9630 (Verizon) and have an issue with the hyperlinks within the browser sometimes not working. My cursor recognizes that it is over a link and switches to the "hand" indicator however, When I click the trackball to select nothing happens. If I scroll up or down on the page I can sometimes then go back to the link and it will work and they sometimes even work the first time. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to the problem at all. I am sure that it isn't my trackball or sensitivity settings as it functions perfectly in all other areas outside of the browser. I have tried using the Firefox browser instead of BB, I have wiped the phone, rebooted several times and Verizon even replaced the phone for me for this issue. Nothing has helped. I have had two other Tours prior to these last two that did not exibit this problem. Since I am seeing this on another handset I suspect it could be a software issue or possibly related to an app. I currently have 11 apps loaded (NBC, Hockey News, Buzz Me, BerryTourch, Google Maps, Weather Bug, Fidelity Online, The Weather Channel, PHH (Fleet Vehicle), ScoreMobile, and XM / Sirius Radio) and I am running OS v5.0.0.591. Anyone know of any issues with the software or app related causes for this? Anybody else even seen this?

My email all of a sudden won't work. I have important documents that need to be emailed asap and I can't get to a cpu in time. I'm on a amtrak and won't be home until at least 10 am and it will be too late. My bbm works, my internet works even text but this damn email is acting up.If anyone knows how to fix this pls share the word, I'm in a jam.I have a sprint tour btw, I just spent 2 hrs typing this doc and can't even email it.

The receptacle the receives the 3.5mm plug in the side of my Tour has suddenly stopped working. Worked Friday, not yesterday. I have tried the ubiquitous battery pull (several times) but no dice.
Tried it with two different headsets, and those headsets on a different devices, so I am sure it is the receptacle.

Could someone please post a working link to download 5.0.0.643? I would like to download it but can't find a site that still works.
Also, what is the proper way to install a new OS? Can i just install it on top of what I am currently running and let it take over, or do I have to uninstall the current or anything? If someone could answer these questions that would be fantastic. Also, when installing the new OS, will i lose my old info, like apps, SMS messages, etc.?
