Jun 9, 2010It worked fine for the first 10months ... Now blammo, nadda!When I type an email (compose new, reply or forward), my email addresses from my contacts now longer auto-magically auto-fill. It doesn't matter what category the contact is from. I've tried alt "rbld" in the contacts. I've restarted about 15times over the last week, even with the almighty battery pull. I've tried re-syncing multiple times. I've removed and re-installed my email accounts. I've spent more time trying to fix it than typing in the dern addresses at this point, it's just so blastedly inconvenient and time consuming with my excessive emailing for work. I'm ready to try a stick dynamite attached to the phone, but thought it was a lil extreme, so I'm asking for help first...

Feb 10, 2010After I installed the new operating system I lost a feature. Both my husband and I have the Tour. For example, if you highlight the Games folder and press the Blackberry options, one Tour can choose "edit folder" and pick a new Icon. The other Tour mine is missing that choice. Any fix? If I create my own folder, I have the feature, but not for my Games, Applications and other folder that were there in the old OS.

Mar 30, 2010Ok, I have searched everywhere and I can not find it so figured I would ask. Sorry if this has been asked before. The Tour from Verizon has the same two themes that the Curve 2 has with one MAJOR difference. I can not find the "Today" option on the Tour. On the curve it is as simple as going to the layout option, but I can not find this option on the Tour. What am I missing? Is there a trick, or did they really not add a Today feature to the defaults for the Tour?

Feb 21, 2010I purchased the Sprint Blackberry Tour 9630 (without camera) the other day. When I went to plug it into my computer yesterday to back up my info, etc. it prompted me to upgrade to 5.0.0.484 from 4.7 (I believe.)Question - after I upgraded, the lock device feature went away. I usually use the left convenience key to lock it. However, the icon is no longer there and I no longer have the option available in the keyboard/screen section. PLEASE HELP! I need to be able to lock my device.

Apr 9, 2010One of the best features with my BB is the auto lock (an app I downloaded). It would basically put it in standby mode after a few seconds of inactivity. This was key because it prevented it from going off in my pocket.
With the new OS, the app doesn't work. I know there is a similar function with the new OS, but it requires a 4-digit (?) password as opposed to a quick 2-button key press to unlock.
Any ideas on how to get this back?

Feb 11, 2010I have found an app, autostandby which cost money, and easty standby which is not available for the tour. IS there a way to auto standby without an app? Or any free apps to make it do this? Or is the pay one worth it?is there a way to be able to text more then a 160 characters?

Jan 19, 2010I understand the steps to generate and auto signature - Go to email, click menu/options/email settings/auto signature ON, and type in your signature. However when I click on Email Settings there is no option for Auto Signature. The only options are:
Enable HTML email yes/no
Download Images Automatically yes/no
Confirm Delivery yes/no
Confirm Read yes/no
Send Read Receipts yes/no
There is no mention of auto signature.
BB Tour 9630 :: Music Auto Playback Wont Automatically Resume?
Apr 19, 2010I've been trying to use my BB as music player when on the bike.At the same time, I'm running my GPS and utilize the phone function for incoming calls.Music starts up fine, however, as soon as the playback gets interrupted by any kind of command - GPS turn instructions or incoming phone calls, the playback won't automatically resume. Is there any work around for this?
BB Tour 9630 :: Email Address Auto-Complete & Calendar Sync
May 3, 2010Ever since I activated BES (so that I could sync email/calendar with my company's MS Exchange server), I have been experiencing a couple of email-related issues that I did not have previously:
1)When composing a new email or trying to add another contact to an existing email, when I type in the name of the person, the email address auto-complete function does not work. It does work when I am sending SMS, MMS, and searching through my Phone Book, but does not work in email for some reason. Even if I manually type in the correct email address, I do not have a option for the email. I can only reply to email or go through the Phone Book and selection the phonebook entry. I have done the phone book quickfix several times without any success.
2)My calendar events are not showing up in my BES email folder both sent or received calendar notices do not show up for some reason. I have re-sent the Service Books from BES a couple of times to no avail.
BB Tour 9630 :: SMS Text / Return Key Sends Text
Jul 20, 2010Since I recently upgraded, when I am typing a SMS text, if I hit the Return key to try and get to the next line, the text is being sent instead. Is there a way to turn this off? I want to be able to get to the next line, not send a text, with the return key.

Jan 3, 2010I am on .230 and I have noticed that with only one of my contacts when I get a text message I get the alert but no notification on my screen. It sux cause if I don't hear it I never know I get a message from this person. What makes it worse is that I get messages from this person all the time so it's not a one in a while issue.

Feb 11, 2010Is anyone able to get an audible alert that you have received a text message while in a call? I have set the settings in the options (Ring Tones/Alerts), but it does not beep while in a call. I have also noticed that there is a setting for each contact to alert in a call (default set to no). However, shouldn't the setting in the options menu menu override that if it is set to notify in call?

Apr 17, 2010Yesterday, I bought a BlackBerry Tour 9630 from Verizon Wireless with the new 5.0.0.591 patch (at least I think that's the newest). Either way, the phone is great, I love it. I had no problems with it yesterday at all. I installed the software from the CD it came with onto my computer, connected my phone, updated it, etc. After messing with all that I went to sleep and woke up that morning with texts from my girlfriend. For a while we could respond back and fourth with no issues whatsoever.
However at one point, she sent me a text and I couldn't open it. I could see the preview of it (where it says "Blah blah blah..." with the 3 periods) but when I clicked it, it wouldn't open. So I randomly clicked a few things to get the conversation open and when I get it open the place where it text should be is blank. All it has is the ">" showing it to be her text. Yet I can still see the preview of the text. Now, I can't get any texts opened from her nor can I read them in the conversations. So I did my research, looked online and found this to be a fairly common problem but with no real, concrete fixes. It could potentially be either a BlackBerry problem (most likely with the new 5.0 patch) or a Verizon Wireless problem. Part of me wants to think it is more likely the patch but I have no way to be sure of that.
So I need to know if there are any real solutions to this. Should I just go to the Verizon Wireless store and see if they can fix it seeing as how it might not even be a Verizon problem? I'm not sure what they can do to a patch BlackBerry sent out. Any temporary fixes or soft resets or hard resets or whatever I do only work for about a text or two and then it goes back to failing again. I'm not sure what to do or when this problem will be fixed or have a solution.
BB Tour 9630 :: SMS Text Messaging Broken
Aug 3, 2010I'm using a Tour on Verizon. The trackball broke and I got a new phone. On this phone, the SMS messages show up as a stream instead of messages. Verizon says they are "working" and wont do anything. This is completely unacceptable.If I want to delete a message- it deletes EVERY SINGLE message I have from that contact including the ones I want to save. I've had to restore SMS from my backup 3 times now- and just give up on deleting anything. They say I have to go and scroll through EVERY list to find specific messages to delete for every person.I also get automated SMS messages from various equipment I monitor at work, and these all show up as one big message with no date/time stamps- and I end up missing important messages because the most recent one is just a "status" message.
When looking at the solid stream of messages many (but not all) of my contacts have a GREAT BIG "Contact information: [Their phone number]" taking up 40% of the screen meaning I have to scroll up and down to read even short SMS messages.How can I get my SMS messages to show up as messages like they are supposed to instead of the "stream of **bleep**" that they show up as now?

Dec 3, 2014The respond with text feature is not working on my iPhone 6 Plus. I got the phone yesterday and restored it from the iCloud backup from my iPhone 5. The setting is enabled in the passcode section of the settings, and all of my previous custom messages are still showing in the list. It will not give me the option to respond to a phone call with a text message whether or not the phone is locked, unlocked, engaged in a current phone call, or not engaged in a call.
I remember having this problem with my 4 a long time ago but I cannot remember how I fixed it.

But I don't want to have a custom text ringer for those people. Whenever I set a custom ringer for those contacts, it automatically changes the text ringer as well. Is there any way to only give them a custom call-tone and leave all text messages as the same tone?

If i get a text message from someone that is also a BBM contact, I get the text message in my BBM list and it has a text message symbol next to it!!! and in my text message list! i don't need to be told twice that I have a message of some sort and this is VERY annoying!
