BB Tour :: Unlocked 9630 - Caller ID Not Working

I have a Unlocked Tour 9630 which I am now using with FIDO . Everything on the phone seems to work EXCEPT . CALLER ID , which is driving me nuts , not knowing whose call I missed.
80% of people calling the phone it will say "UNKNOWN CALLER" . There are only a few of my contacts that their name will appear when calling . The rest of my contacts, although I have their numbers saved in my phone will still appear as "UNKNOWN"
I've done everything from , changing around my Smart Dialing to include my area code and canada as the country code . Encryption is disabled on the phone.
The Phone was originally Set up with VERIZON .

I have a Tour 9630, sw version 5.0.0.732. When the phone rings, it does not display the name of the caller, just their phone number, even if that number is in my address book. Once I answer the call, the name is then displayed.Naturally I'd like to know who the caller is before I answer! I found a couple posts asking a similar question, although for different model phones. Some of them suggest that I must disable content protection... but I can't find this in the options. Even in the User Guide, it contains instructions (go to Options > Security Options > General Settings... but there is no "general settings" on my phone.)

I got phone calls today and every phone call had the contact name "Stephanie -insert her phone #-" the strange part was that it wasn't Stephanie calling, it was one of my other contacts. Every time I got a phone call, it would always say it was Stephanie, but it wasn't. Then, when I'd go into my call logs, it'd show the accurate names of the people who called me.

After searching forums and finding nothing except how to avoid or block unknown callers, I can't find an answer to my problem. I get calls from unknown callers and need to answer them, but my phone wont let me hear the caller. Help , I called tech service went to the Sprint store and no one can help. Any Ideas? TY(BTW--BB-9630-V5.0.0.484 with 4.2.0.214 platform)

I had a 9630 that was unlocked by Verizon in January 2010. I had it unlocked so I could use my SIM Card for Vodacom in South Africa which had a blackberry contract, inclusive of Data. I was in South Africa from January to Mid-September.The phone worked perfectly until May, upon which I had occasional cut-outs of BIS. By the end of May, I had suffered 2 weeks without internet. I filed many complaints with Vodacom, and the issue was even escalated to RIM. But I never had any progress. It worked for a day, sparatically. The issue continued until I left in Mid-September. Upon arriving back in the USA, my blackberry worked perfectly on my CDMA Verizon contract,but I am planning on returning to South Africa. I would like to know what this issue was, and how it can be fixed. Vodacom and Vodaworld (a Tech World for Vodacom) could not do much, as the phone was American and, though there are many people in South Africa with the same phone, all have suffered the same problem. We also upgraded to OS 5 and reverted to the previous OS 4 to try see if it would make a difference.As a side note, I was able to use WAP browsing, which I had to pay for, but the BIS didn't work, no matter how many HRT or battery pull restarts I attempted.

I had a Blackberry Tour 9630 (sprint) that got stolen while in Slovenia. I ordered a replacement from sprint (same Tour 9630) and they neglected to tell me that the phone must be activated before it was sent out to me. So, I receive the phone and the SIM card and spend about 3 hours on the phone with Sprint customer service trying to get BIS services to work. Voice services work just fine but BIS services don't work at all. I confirm that BIS is activated on my phone and international roaming is active, check on both.So after hours on the phone they come to the conclusion that the phone needed to be activated in the US before it was shipped out to me. I then go another route, knowing that my phone is unlocked, {SIM, network, network subnet, service provider, and corporate} all say "disabled", and try to use my Slovenian SIM card (SI MOBIL) with BIS services activated and still only voice. I even try the Slovenian SIM card in a colleague's blackberry and it works just fine.

I came from an 8830 WE. When I received a phone call on the 8830, if number was in my address book, the screen would show the name of the person, their location (work, home, etc), and the number as I had it formatted in the address book, such as (555) 555-5555.I imported the address book to my Tour, and everything looks exactly the same as far as how the data is formatted in each contact.However, when a person calls, the phone just shows the persons name with an unformatted phone number, such as 5554445565, and does not show where the person is calling from, such as (Home), like the 8830 did.

My friend have presented me a Verizon BB9630 unlocked that he've purchsed on e-bay in USA. I've registered BIS in local provider (MTS Russia) and now I have following problem. BIS is working only after I switch of GPRS service on my sim-card (GSM). And once GPRS is enabled BIS is not working.
Is there any solution for this problem or this phone is unable to work in Russian network in a way when GPRS Internet and BIS exist simultaneousely.

Recently purchased an unlocked verizon bb 9630 tour. I have connected it to my verizon account and I have a data plan, but i cannot connect to the internet. There isnt even a browser icon on the phone. How do I set up the network? Verizon doesnt let you have a bb unless you pay for a data plan, it would be pointless to have it without internet working!

I have a unlocked Blackberry Tour 9630 that I purchased off ebay. I'm using it with a generic T-mobile internet plan, (someone told me that it would work).
However, whenever I open the browser I would get this error: "Your decivce does not currently have any Browser Configration Service Book entries, Please contact your service provider to enable the Browser on your device".What does this mean, and how can I fix it?

Recently got my hands on a unlocked 9630 from a Sprint buddy. Everything works browser, txt, MMS, calls, even my weather app. Just every time I try to log into Facebook, it tells me "Could not connect because a data service is not available. Please try again later. If this continues, contact your service provider for support".I came from a Tmo BB Curve so the service was already there. I re-registered on the BB network, resent the service books from the web and from my phone, did hard re-starts, went online to My Tmobile and updated the IMEI. I uninstalled the app from the phone, performed a hard reset, then reinstalled the app from the Blackberry App Store.

There has been many threads I read about the options menu and turning on the led and bedmode turning off. I tried all those things and my led still isn't working. Is there anything else I still havnt. Done yet. Is it possible for the led to really be broken?

I have a Tour and recently the camera stopped working. The camera application will work, it will autofocus, and when I take the picture it shows up perfect on the screen but the after 2 seconds the picture will completely distort and just be a screen with a bunch of colors going across. Cannot even see the picture. Looks almost like a TV that has no reception. I tried sending the pic and it is still just the static looking screen. I have changed the settings for the picture quality and didnt change anything. I pulled the battery and did a hard restart and no change. Any ideas? I would take it in to Verizon but I bought it 3rd party and it has no warranty.

My tour was running low on battery last night, so I plugged it in, fell asleep, and had a nap. When I woke up, it was completely dead!No usb cord I have works to charge it, there is no red led lit up when I insert the battery. just nothing. It doesn't connect to the computer, jl_cmder wont connect, and app load wont connect using the trick if jl_cmder doesn't work.I got it first when it came out, or just a few days after, and it was fine. One night I dropped it and some water got in and set off the water sticker inside, but like I said it worked fine nothing happened to it. On the battery, the white sticker with the red line is completely faded to almost just a white sticker?? Is this sticker a heat sensitive one?

I have a tour running OS 5.0.484. I can get my Plantronics 520 headset to pair Fine with the Blackberry but when I try to make a call or get any sound to or from the headset it doesn't work. I've tried the headset on other phones and it works fine. I tried repairing, Pulling the battery, removing all the other profiles and then repairing the device. I've even tried upgrading the OS to .484 from .419 and nothing seems to work. I know the bluetooth has worked in the past just not sure how long it's been since it has stopped working.

i just noticed that my phone isn't ringing anymore. only vibrating. after checking it i realized that all of my sounds have stopped working including ringer,alerts,notifications,speakerphone, video sounds, etc.i'm using a 9630 tour running v.5.0.0.591 on vzw. i've searched the forums but haven't had any luck finding the issue unless it is a 5.0 os issue. i updated to 5.0 when vzw pushed it a few weeks ago and the sounds were still working afterward. the last time i can remember hearing sounds was on sunday when i was watching a Internet vid.

Audio jack on my Tour. I have used the headphones that come with the device, a generic set of ear buds and a car adapter. Never had any problem with any of them until this morning. Plugged in the BB headset while at the gym and they never engaged. Music was playing over internal speaker but could not get it to come through headphones.I switched to the generic set but same thing happened. On the way home, same thing happened with the car adapter. I have tried wiggling the jacks when putting them in, battery pull and making sure everything except defaults are closed with no luck.

I feel lame starting yet another specific 5.0 thread but I have been on here since early this morning and a little last night and didnt see this.
There's a few threads talking about the lock screen being different or non-existent on 5.0
I have Keyboard Locker installed and set to lock after 30 secs.. I waited over a minute and it didnt lock. the screen black but it's not locked.
Keyboard locker is a huge app for me to prevent pocket dialing since I dont use a holster and keep it in my pocket.

I Just got my BlackBerry 9630 Tour 3 days ago and I have used it only numerous times, usually plugged into The wall in The house. Later in The day yesterday The keys and trackball click stopped working, Just weird. The trackball will move The cursor on The screen but Nothing will click or select.I've tried everything from taking out The battery, The SIM card, The SD card, drying it. Nothing seems to work, I even deleted all data on The phone with desktop manager and it still doesn't work.

I have a BB Tour 9630 (Verizon) and have an issue with the hyperlinks within the browser sometimes not working. My cursor recognizes that it is over a link and switches to the "hand" indicator however, When I click the trackball to select nothing happens. If I scroll up or down on the page I can sometimes then go back to the link and it will work and they sometimes even work the first time. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to the problem at all. I am sure that it isn't my trackball or sensitivity settings as it functions perfectly in all other areas outside of the browser. I have tried using the Firefox browser instead of BB, I have wiped the phone, rebooted several times and Verizon even replaced the phone for me for this issue. Nothing has helped. I have had two other Tours prior to these last two that did not exibit this problem. Since I am seeing this on another handset I suspect it could be a software issue or possibly related to an app. I currently have 11 apps loaded (NBC, Hockey News, Buzz Me, BerryTourch, Google Maps, Weather Bug, Fidelity Online, The Weather Channel, PHH (Fleet Vehicle), ScoreMobile, and XM / Sirius Radio) and I am running OS v5.0.0.591. Anyone know of any issues with the software or app related causes for this? Anybody else even seen this?

My email all of a sudden won't work. I have important documents that need to be emailed asap and I can't get to a cpu in time. I'm on a amtrak and won't be home until at least 10 am and it will be too late. My bbm works, my internet works even text but this damn email is acting up.If anyone knows how to fix this pls share the word, I'm in a jam.I have a sprint tour btw, I just spent 2 hrs typing this doc and can't even email it.

The receptacle the receives the 3.5mm plug in the side of my Tour has suddenly stopped working. Worked Friday, not yesterday. I have tried the ubiquitous battery pull (several times) but no dice.
Tried it with two different headsets, and those headsets on a different devices, so I am sure it is the receptacle.
