ive been reading about this issue with no results, i have an unlocked bb tour from sprint i wanna use on tmobile, everything works, but it doesnt register on the network, so i can use the bbm, i sent the service books, i did everything, i have the data plan, but is still not registering, any help here?
View 9 RepliesRecently got my hands on a unlocked 9630 from a Sprint buddy. Everything works browser, txt, MMS, calls, even my weather app. Just every time I try to log into Facebook, it tells me "Could not connect because a data service is not available. Please try again later. If this continues, contact your service provider for support".I came from a Tmo BB Curve so the service was already there. I re-registered on the BB network, resent the service books from the web and from my phone, did hard re-starts, went online to My Tmobile and updated the IMEI. I uninstalled the app from the phone, performed a hard reset, then reinstalled the app from the Blackberry App Store.

Seems to be pretty good so far.The weird thing I am seeing today is that whenever I do a battery pull (several times today re-registering apps) I get a email in the Message box saying something about registration on the network was successful.

Is there anyway to restore just the missing contact information from the handset? If not, is there any hope of restoring these contacts?

I had a 9630 that was unlocked by Verizon in January 2010. I had it unlocked so I could use my SIM Card for Vodacom in South Africa which had a blackberry contract, inclusive of Data. I was in South Africa from January to Mid-September.The phone worked perfectly until May, upon which I had occasional cut-outs of BIS. By the end of May, I had suffered 2 weeks without internet. I filed many complaints with Vodacom, and the issue was even escalated to RIM. But I never had any progress. It worked for a day, sparatically. The issue continued until I left in Mid-September. Upon arriving back in the USA, my blackberry worked perfectly on my CDMA Verizon contract,but I am planning on returning to South Africa. I would like to know what this issue was, and how it can be fixed. Vodacom and Vodaworld (a Tech World for Vodacom) could not do much, as the phone was American and, though there are many people in South Africa with the same phone, all have suffered the same problem. We also upgraded to OS 5 and reverted to the previous OS 4 to try see if it would make a difference.As a side note, I was able to use WAP browsing, which I had to pay for, but the BIS didn't work, no matter how many HRT or battery pull restarts I attempted.

I ordered a replacement from sprint (same Tour 9630) and they neglected to tell me that the phone must be activated before it was sent out to me. So, I receive the phone and the SIM card and spend about 3 hours on the phone with Sprint customer service trying to get BIS services to work. Voice services work just fine but BIS services don't work at all. I confirm that BIS is activated on my phone and international roaming is active, check on both.So after hours on the phone they come to the conclusion that the phone needed to be activated in the US before it was shipped out to me. I then go another route, knowing that my phone is unlocked, {SIM, network, network subnet, service provider, and corporate} all say "disabled", and try to use my Slovenian SIM card (SI MOBIL) with BIS services activated and still only voice. I even try the Slovenian SIM card in a colleague's blackberry and it works just fine.

I've registered BIS in local provider (MTS Russia) and now I have following problem. BIS is working only after I switch of GPRS service on my sim-card (GSM). And once GPRS is enabled BIS is not working.
Is there any solution for this problem or this phone is unable to work in Russian network in a way when GPRS Internet and BIS exist simultaneousely.
I have a Unlocked Tour 9630 which I am now using with FIDO . Everything on the phone seems to work EXCEPT . CALLER ID , which is driving me nuts , not knowing whose call I missed.
80% of people calling the phone it will say "UNKNOWN CALLER" . There are only a few of my contacts that their name will appear when calling . The rest of my contacts, although I have their numbers saved in my phone will still appear as "UNKNOWN"
I've done everything from , changing around my Smart Dialing to include my area code and canada as the country code . Encryption is disabled on the phone.
The Phone was originally Set up with VERIZON .
Recently purchased an unlocked verizon bb 9630 tour. I have connected it to my verizon account and I have a data plan, but i cannot connect to the internet. There isnt even a browser icon on the phone. How do I set up the network? Verizon doesnt let you have a bb unless you pay for a data plan, it would be pointless to have it without internet working!

However, whenever I open the browser I would get this error: "Your decivce does not currently have any Browser Configration Service Book entries, Please contact your service provider to enable the Browser on your device".What does this mean, and how can I fix it?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI purchased an unlocked 4s to use with my T-Mobile SIM. I had previously been using a 3GS on T-Mobile. Since the update to version 5, apple has removed the settings toggle to disable the 3G radio. This causes a strange issue when 3G is forced to be on, after every call, the radio resets its self, dropping to 1 bar and searching before reconnecting. On version 5.0.1 I was able to jailbreak the phone and install a second party toggle to disable the 3G radio, this restored the normal operation of the phone on the T-Mobile network. But since upgrading to 5.1, I am unable to install this toggle, and it has made the phone really annoying to use. Why has apple removed this toggle? Have they moved it or is there another way to disable it?

I activated my iphone 4 to tmobile from att. Receiving/making call and text works well. But iMessage and Facetime is not working with my phone number, it just sending with my email address!I tried to change the receiving address to phone number but on my phone (setting-message-iMessage section), phone number bar is showing as verifying; same as on Facetime. Also its gray out and not possible to tab though. And finally verifying status changes to error... Even though my phone number seems as correct format with +1-XXX-XXX-XXXX. I have ios5.1 with 4.12.01?

Instead I see a bunch of weird symbols, but the ATT iPhone can receive emoji's from my phone. Also some of my friends have a verizon iPhone and I can receive their Emoji icons, and they can receive mine. At one point I was able to receive emoji icons from ATT iPhones.

I have acquired the updated firmware for the device and am attempting to use Multi-Loader V 5.40 to flash the firmware. The phone is unlocked and reads the T-mobile SIM card, however I am having no luck at all with email and data facilities on the Blackberry.I have contacted T-Mobile and they have attemepted to send the service books to me however they are not reaching me. They have been through a whole host of procedures to try and get the problem sorted including doing a security wipe and also restoring the email accounts, I have tried to send the service books to myself through the BIS website as well.
It seems odd that I can not connect to the Blackberry Wireless Network because I my device pin is recognised on the T-Mobile website. I have tried to register the device using Host Routing Table but still no joy.If you have any clue as to why I can not access data services then I would really appreciate some help. I do have my data plan enabled, I know sometimes this can be a reason why people have this problem.
Can you replace a tour trackball with a curve one? I heard somewhere that it was possible. I changed the housing in my Tour to make it white but the trackball doesn't sit right and i have a problem scrolling down. I can't seem to get the trackball to sit properely in this housing its just not centered. If i can put a curve trackball in, which model curve do i use?

I was told by the representative that the phone was tri-band and would work in the United States, where I live presently. I am emailing from the US where the phone does not work. It does not roam with my UK network (o2), nor will my AT&T sim card work in the phone (sim card registration failed).Any ideas? I thought an unlocked handset bought from an independent provider would work on any network??

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have an ATT 8520 Curve unlocked to work with a tmobile sim card and have a few questions...Now that's unlocked I cant setup an external email account (hotmail, gmail, etc...) that icon is missing from the setup section. how can I get that feature? can I also use the bbm feature? I added a friend (and vice-versa) but it just stays as pending. is it possible to bbm? for the above 2 do i need to get the bb data plan so they can work? I've read elsewhere that the best way to get the features would be to load the tmobile handheld software. I went to tmobiles site, I enter my ph# - select the 8520 - click on handheld and it takes me to their 'shop for phones' page. I guess they now by the number that i dont currently have a bb. So I tried a friends ph# from tmobile who has a bb and it still took me to the 'shop for phones' page. So I Am hoping it's just a link glitch going on right now. I did download from this forum the 5.0 OS "8520wifiM_PBr5.0.0_rel860_PL5.2.0.47_A5.0.0.509_W ind_Hellas.exe" which obviously is not tmobile. What would loading this different OS allow me to do? Or what features will I have available? and I have lowercase 'edge'.

I won't receive emails on it for quite a while, but once I open my Internet browser, all of the emails I received since the last time I opened it will come through at once. If I check my messages, they're all listed as coming through at the same time, but inside the email, they're datestamped at the actual time they were sent.
Any ideas as to what it could be? I haven't changed any settings recently, the problem started independent of anything else, from what I can tell. It seems like a problem with my phone not checking for new emails until it uses data services (internet browser).
I have a Blackberry Curve 9630 , I can't make or answer calls from the handset.aller is able to hearme when call is picked up but I can't hear them. I can only make or answerthe call using speaker option. And works fine this way. Have tried re-bootingbut doesn't work. Never experience this before and phone was workingperfectly right up to this morning. All otheres like BBM, Email, SMS, apps,are working fine.
