How can I organize my texts so that they aren't all separate and are organized by the contact's name? Sorry, just got this phone still learning some stuff.
View 4 RepliesI have a quick question and I have searched and cannot find what Im looking for. I appologize ahead of time for being a NOOB. Is there anyway to separate texts by contact? My BB shows every text thats been sent. Im wanting to compress all these texts into individual lines per contact. For instance if someone sends me 10 texts, it shows them all instead of 1 line for that particular contact.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just wanted to make sure that I'm not missing something here.... It appears that for each notification (e.g. each email address, the phone ringer, the calendar alarm, SMS text notification, etc.) you choose 1 setting that carries through to all the different "profiles" (e.g. loud, normal, vibrate), and that when you set it on the different profiles, it merely changes the volume of the ringer and whether or not it vibrates?
On my Curve 8330, I had to set each ringer in EACH profile, so if I wanted I could have BBPro1 as the phone ringer for "Loud," and BBPro2 as the phone ringer for "Normal," and BBPro3 as the phone ringer for "Medium," etc.... The Tour does not have this, does it?
I can send and people get my texts, but now cannot receive them unless I use the Crunch SMS program. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI added a new gmail address to my phone, before that, I had my work e-mail, a different gmail address and my blackberry e-mail.All e-mails went directly into the main mailbox.They also went into the separate folders for each specific e-mail address. so if I wanted to only look at e-mails from email address #1, I just had to look in that folder.Well it still works for the first 3 e-mail address, but since I added the new gmail account, the e-mails on the new account only go to the main e-mail message folder.So if I go to the separate folder for the new gmail account it shows no e-mails at all.But if I go to the main inbox, any new e-mails to that account are shown there.Does anyone know how to fix this?I have deleted and re-added this account at least 3 times, I have done everything I know and I still cannot get the e-mails to show up in the separate account folder!
View 4 Replies View Relatedmy BB Tour stopped recognizing the contact alerts I set up. Verizon the cell carrier wasn't any help. I have deleted and reset. Shutdown the phone including disconnecting the battery-nothing helps. Does anyone know how to fix? Phone is a week old-New.

View 5 Replies View RelatedFirst off just wanted to say hi, just bought my first ever blackberry (tour) a couple days ago and love it. My wife got one for work and I fell in love with it and needed to get one. She has the Curve 8530??? (not sure on model the second one.) Anyway I was wondering if there was anyway to set my read text message how the curve display them. With blue and white bars, and it groups them all to the same person instead of by most recent. I would to go to my messages and just have them group all by person with the ongoing conversation like the cure, does where as my tour just puts last sent/received at top. Any ideas?

She is on Verizon and told me that a Verizon rep told her today that Verizon customers can no longer get texts from T Mobile.This can't be true? View 13 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to OS 5 on the Tour and noticed the whole messaging functionality has changed a lot. With the old OS I could select an email and choose to forward. Then in the To: field I could start typing a contact's name from the address book and it would autocomplete the user and let me choose the address I wanted. Now with OS 5.0 when i type in the contact's name nothing happens. And there is no option to select from a contact list. What am I missing? It shouldn't be this hard to send messages with the new OS, right?

I treid to clear the BlackBerry contact database and resync, but again, everything resynced except the contact pictures.

When I am at the "New Group" screen, and it asks me to "Add a Member," I click the trackball and it brings me to my contact list. Then, whether I click the trackball or the menu button on the contact, I seem unable to add a member.
I found one issue that seems to be very irritating with my BB which other phones have done fine in the past and I cant figure out how to on my Tour. My brother texted me with a new phone number he is now using so I hit options in the test message and then the only thing is "add to contacts" so I choose that but it is a brand new contact.Why cant I choose to update a contact?
View 4 Replies View RelatedSomehow I lingered over the delete too long or something and the confirm came up for one of my contacts. I rolled down to cancel, but after I clicked it jumped back up to delete and removed my contact. Currently, I do not have a back up of my database as it has been a bit more difficult than with my last phone and computer. Let's face it.... I've been procrastinating in tacking the project!
Does anyone know if it is possible to retrieve this contact? I figure the info still has to be somewhere on the phone..
I don't know how it happened but when I was composing an SMS message I noticed that I have the same contact twice with the same numbers. Some of the contacts are just copies and some have a facebook name on it. I have tried deleting and reinstalling facebook but the issue is still there. My question is: is there I way I can quickly delete all this duplicate contacts without doing it one by one?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there is a way on the 9630 to make one phone number of multiple numbers under one contact be the priority?A lot of times I type in the first couple of letters to get the contact and hit send to call them and then I get asked always what number to call on that contact. Starting to get a little old.I would like to make the personal mobile number the priority instead of being asked all the time or at least put in on the top of the list.I also notice on the 8530 for text messaging they have different colored backgrounds for the incoming and outgoing texts. Is there a option on our phones so they can do that too?

However, the custom alerts for "Contact Alerts > Messages" don't. I'm supposed to get a sound plus a vibration for certain contacts when in "Phone Only" profile. This doesn't happen.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am new to this device and I had Verizon transfer all 300 of my contacts from my old phone to the tour. When I ran email set up with my gmail account i didn't notice that i checked the contacts box and it deleted all 300 of the contacts I had changed over and left only 20 or so (who i imagine are from my gmail account). I deleted the gmail account from my phone, is there a way to delete the gmail list from my contact list? I go to options and it's the only contact list in my phone and it doesn't give me an option to delete. I even tried re-adding the gmail account to my phone and unchecking the contact list button--to no avail.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAs many of the rest of you have done, I mindlessly upgraded to OS 5.0, and am working on the new features. Here's something that puzzles me, though. Now when I dial a number from my contact list (even one in my own city and area code), my BB puts a +1 (country code for the usa) in front of the number.As I don't recall seeing this before, is this something new? Or do I have a setting wrong (which I'll discover on my bill in a few days).

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Tour & did an OS upgrade through Wireless Update. I had 3 folders in Contacts(top of each contact had three different sync references). Looks like there is 2 of the folders and missing one. How can I set up Blackberry Desktop to sync with one of the missing folders and just get the contacts that that folder or "sync" description?I guess I need to know where and how to find the one folder as well.I do not know if folder is right term. On my contacts the top says "Synchronize Using: Unknown" or Synchronize Using: Desktop". I know there was a third and can not remember the heading.I just need those contacts in that sync.Hopefully I am communicating this correctly.

My problem is all of my contacts somehow have a custom (or personalized) ringer. When I edit my contact details and go into Custom Ring Tones/Alerts,they ALL have Ringer_ClassicPhone as the personalized ringer...
