BB Tour 9630 :: Saving Multiple Numbers With 1 Contact Name
Mar 5, 2010I was wondering if there is a way on the 9630 to make one phone number of multiple numbers under one contact be the priority?A lot of times I type in the first couple of letters to get the contact and hit send to call them and then I get asked always what number to call on that contact. Starting to get a little old.I would like to make the personal mobile number the priority instead of being asked all the time or at least put in on the top of the list.I also notice on the 8530 for text messaging they have different colored backgrounds for the incoming and outgoing texts. Is there a option on our phones so they can do that too?

Mar 14, 2010For some reason my Tour is not saving the pictures I take. Usually when I took pictures that menu at the bottom comes and where it gives me the option to delete or save and stuff. That menu is not coming up anymore. I check to see if it saves automatic however, the picture is no where to be found in my picture folders.

What am I missing.All my sent items show up in the mailbox but nothing from previous days for incoming.Is this a setting I am missing? Apr 5, 2010I bought a unlocked sprint phone to work on my network (rogers) works fine, but when i go dial it shows the older persons number. I know i can turn this off to not show it but i want to change it. It can't be changed through general options. Im guessing its stored in the device with the last owners SPRINT CDMA settings. On a verizon i can do ##000000 but it doesn't work on sprint. Wipe security didn't erase it , Will JL_CMDER delete that??

Jan 5, 2010Pretty happy as I just got my Tour switching from an 8130 Pearl. Stupid question, but does anybody know how to change the "my number" in the phone menu. I just switched from Verizon over to Sprint to save some money and had my old number ported over. Everything is working fine, but the number still shows up as the temporary one sent to me in the phone menu.

Apr 6, 2010I have a problem with my blackberry voicemail. I am a new blackberry user. I recently had to update the unit (it took some time). Recently when I try to call my voicemail it calls my home telephone number. The speed dial "w" key indicates my cell phone number, but when I try to call it, it calls my home number. Also, if I manually dial in my cell phone number and hit send, it still calls my home telephone number.

Apr 30, 2010I recently upgraded to OS 5 on the Tour and noticed the whole messaging functionality has changed a lot. With the old OS I could select an email and choose to forward. Then in the To: field I could start typing a contact's name from the address book and it would autocomplete the user and let me choose the address I wanted. Now with OS 5.0 when i type in the contact's name nothing happens. And there is no option to select from a contact list. What am I missing? It shouldn't be this hard to send messages with the new OS, right?

When I received a phone call on the 8830, if number was in my address book, the screen would show the name of the person, their location (work, home, etc), and the number as I had it formatted in the address book, such as (555) 555-5555.I imported the address book to my Tour, and everything looks exactly the same as far as how the data is formatted in each contact.However, when a person calls, the phone just shows the persons name with an unformatted phone number, such as 5554445565, and does not show where the person is calling from, such as (Home), like the 8830 did.

May 13, 2010I found one issue that seems to be very irritating with my BB which other phones have done fine in the past and I cant figure out how to on my Tour. My brother texted me with a new phone number he is now using so I hit options in the test message and then the only thing is "add to contacts" so I choose that but it is a brand new contact.Why cant I choose to update a contact?

Sep 13, 2010Somehow I lingered over the delete too long or something and the confirm came up for one of my contacts. I rolled down to cancel, but after I clicked it jumped back up to delete and removed my contact. Currently, I do not have a back up of my database as it has been a bit more difficult than with my last phone and computer. Let's face it.... I've been procrastinating in tacking the project!
Does anyone know if it is possible to retrieve this contact? I figure the info still has to be somewhere on the phone..
BB Tour 9630 :: Getting Calls Everyday From Private Number - Disconnect After 3 Seconds
Apr 23, 2010For the last 2 weeks, I've been receiving a call from a "private number." The calls come at either 10 or 11 AM and also at 2 or 3 PM like its happening on the hour. They are disconnected from the other end after 3 seconds...there is no one on the line, nothing computerized, no static, nothing. Anyone else having these issues? I have the latest VZW software fwiw.

Jun 9, 2010I don't know how it happened but when I was composing an SMS message I noticed that I have the same contact twice with the same numbers. Some of the contacts are just copies and some have a facebook name on it. I have tried deleting and reinstalling facebook but the issue is still there. Aug 23, 2010I have a BB Tour 9630 with the latest OS installed and 81.1 MB of application memory. The custom ring tones I've set under "Contact Alerts > Phone" work. However, the custom alerts for "Contact Alerts > Messages" don't. I'm supposed to get a sound plus a vibration for certain contacts when in "Phone Only" profile. This doesn't happen.

My BB shows every text thats been sent. Im wanting to compress all these texts into individual lines per contact. May 10, 2010I am new to this device and I had Verizon transfer all 300 of my contacts from my old phone to the tour. When I ran email set up with my gmail account i didn't notice that i checked the contacts box and it deleted all 300 of the contacts I had changed over and left only 20 or so (who i imagine are from my gmail account). I deleted the gmail account from my phone, is there a way to delete the gmail list from my contact list? I go to options and it's the only contact list in my phone and it doesn't give me an option to delete. I even tried re-adding the gmail account to my phone and unchecking the contact list button--to no avail.

Now when I dial a number from my contact list (even one in my own city and area code), my BB puts a +1 (country code for the usa) in front of the number.As I don't recall seeing this before, is this something new? Jun 20, 2010I have a Tour & did an OS upgrade through Wireless Update. I had 3 folders in Contacts(top of each contact had three different sync references). Looks like there is 2 of the folders and missing one. How can I set up Blackberry Desktop to sync with one of the missing folders and just get the contacts that that folder or "sync" description?I guess I need to know where and how to find the one folder as well.I do not know if folder is right term. On my contacts the top says "Synchronize Using: Unknown" or Synchronize Using: Desktop". I know there was a third and can not remember the heading.I just need those contacts in that sync.Hopefully I am communicating this correctly.
