BB Tour 9630 :: Way To Delete Gmail Contact List?
May 10, 2010I am new to this device and I had Verizon transfer all 300 of my contacts from my old phone to the tour. When I ran email set up with my gmail account i didn't notice that i checked the contacts box and it deleted all 300 of the contacts I had changed over and left only 20 or so (who i imagine are from my gmail account). I deleted the gmail account from my phone, is there a way to delete the gmail list from my contact list? I go to options and it's the only contact list in my phone and it doesn't give me an option to delete. I even tried re-adding the gmail account to my phone and unchecking the contact list button--to no avail.

May 4, 2010I have set my default ring tone under the Sounds, media, options and even custom profiles, but my contacts all stay on the classic ringer unless I go into each one individually and edit them. Which is a HUGE pain in the arse! I just want all my contacts to follow the ring tone I set on the phone and they refuse to follow the default

Mar 18, 2010my BB Tour stopped recognizing the contact alerts I set up. Verizon the cell carrier wasn't any help. I have deleted and reset. Shutdown the phone including disconnecting the battery-nothing helps. Does anyone know how to fix? Phone is a week old-New.

Jan 10, 2010I upgraded my Tour OS to 5.0.0.419 yesterday and like it for the most part. However, I just found out a change I don't like. I tried to forward a MMS message to 11 people and get an error saying "Recipient list size exceeds limit." I have a group of people I forward stuff to. I don't want to go back to 4.7 because of something like this. Has anyone else run into this? Is there a fix or setting I may have missed?
Am I the only one having this problem? A search on Google displays nothing.I created a new group, and apparently only 10 people can be in a group at a time.
BB Tour :: Default Contact List?
Apr 11, 2011Today, suddenly, my contacts won;t sync with Outlook. i tried to change the Default Contact list, but the only opion is a gmail account that is not on my phone anymore, not my Outlook account. How do i get the Outlook account back?

Apr 30, 2010I recently upgraded to OS 5 on the Tour and noticed the whole messaging functionality has changed a lot. With the old OS I could select an email and choose to forward. Then in the To: field I could start typing a contact's name from the address book and it would autocomplete the user and let me choose the address I wanted. Now with OS 5.0 when i type in the contact's name nothing happens. And there is no option to select from a contact list. What am I missing? It shouldn't be this hard to send messages with the new OS, right?

Jul 20, 2010so I just recently update from 4.7 to 5.0.0.732. I can't get the darn thing to provision to save its life. I don't have BIS/BES since it's on Boost but the data did work before, at one point at least As of right now I can make/answer calls, send/receive SMS. No MMS and no Web, GPS, etc. My status says 1xev and I need it to say 1XEV. Whenever I try to Register Now (Host Routing Table) it never provisions, whenever I attempt to Update Profile, or Update Preferred List it says that it can't complete request. Any options I need to change or steps to take different? BTW Data did work on 4.7 and 5.0.0.6## and people have reported that it does work on .732

Jan 9, 2010I installed .419 and resynced. Everything works fine but one thing - none of my contact pictures in Outlook are syncing to the BlackBerry. First time this has happened. I treid to clear the BlackBerry contact database and resync, but again, everything resynced except the contact pictures.

May 13, 2010I found one issue that seems to be very irritating with my BB which other phones have done fine in the past and I cant figure out how to on my Tour. My brother texted me with a new phone number he is now using so I hit options in the test message and then the only thing is "add to contacts" so I choose that but it is a brand new contact.Why cant I choose to update a contact?

Sep 13, 2010Somehow I lingered over the delete too long or something and the confirm came up for one of my contacts. I rolled down to cancel, but after I clicked it jumped back up to delete and removed my contact. Currently, I do not have a back up of my database as it has been a bit more difficult than with my last phone and computer. Let's face it.... I've been procrastinating in tacking the project!
Does anyone know if it is possible to retrieve this contact? I figure the info still has to be somewhere on the phone..
BB Tour 9630 :: Address Book Contact Twice With Same Numbers
Jun 9, 2010I don't know how it happened but when I was composing an SMS message I noticed that I have the same contact twice with the same numbers. Some of the contacts are just copies and some have a facebook name on it. I have tried deleting and reinstalling facebook but the issue is still there. My question is: is there I way I can quickly delete all this duplicate contacts without doing it one by one?

Mar 5, 2010I was wondering if there is a way on the 9630 to make one phone number of multiple numbers under one contact be the priority?A lot of times I type in the first couple of letters to get the contact and hit send to call them and then I get asked always what number to call on that contact. Starting to get a little old.I would like to make the personal mobile number the priority instead of being asked all the time or at least put in on the top of the list.I also notice on the 8530 for text messaging they have different colored backgrounds for the incoming and outgoing texts. Is there a option on our phones so they can do that too?

Aug 23, 2010I have a BB Tour 9630 with the latest OS installed and 81.1 MB of application memory. The custom ring tones I've set under "Contact Alerts > Phone" work. However, the custom alerts for "Contact Alerts > Messages" don't. I'm supposed to get a sound plus a vibration for certain contacts when in "Phone Only" profile. This doesn't happen.

Apr 1, 2010I have a quick question and I have searched and cannot find what Im looking for. I appologize ahead of time for being a NOOB. Is there anyway to separate texts by contact? My BB shows every text thats been sent. Im wanting to compress all these texts into individual lines per contact. For instance if someone sends me 10 texts, it shows them all instead of 1 line for that particular contact.

Now when I dial a number from my contact list (even one in my own city and area code), my BB puts a +1 (country code for the usa) in front of the number.As I don't recall seeing this before, is this something new? Jun 20, 2010I have a Tour & did an OS upgrade through Wireless Update. I had 3 folders in Contacts(top of each contact had three different sync references). Looks like there is 2 of the folders and missing one. How can I set up Blackberry Desktop to sync with one of the missing folders and just get the contacts that that folder or "sync" description?I guess I need to know where and how to find the one folder as well.I do not know if folder is right term. On my contacts the top says "Synchronize Using: Unknown" or Synchronize Using: Desktop". I know there was a third and can not remember the heading.I just need those contacts in that sync.Hopefully I am communicating this correctly.

Have searched a lot about this problem, but looks like nobody has faced this before.hen I open my contact list (or the message list) and then press the back button, they don't close. I have to press the home button to come out of them forcefully. I then can kill the messaging app by going in task manager but there is no such option for contact list. This problem occurs only for contact list and message list. Rest all apps I am able to close by pressing back button.
