It seems that everytime I reset my Tour, my Yahoo & MSN email icons revert back to the original default look, losing the Y! and MSN logos. I have to resend the service books inorder to get the logos to appear in the bottom of the email icon. Anyone else have this annoying issue?

This is probably a futile effort but I was wondering if there was a way to remove unwanted icons off of my tour. I saw a post from last year in regards to the storm and the advise was to just hide them because it can't be done. I'm hoping that as time has passed and technology has advanced that maybe a solution has been developed to resolve this issue.

-Wipe using BBSAK
-Install new OS
-Contacts, messages, settings, etc. should be restored automatically after update?
I have a Blackberry Tour 9630 v4.7.1.40 carrier is Bell Mobility.No background applications running, however where I'm situated I have No Coverage could this be causing the battery to drain so fast ?

I was out-of-state recently and found two unknown icons on my phone while I was gone. I thought maybe one of them indicated roaming, but that's just a guess and I don't know what the other is at all. Across the top of the screen, in order, are
a) the usual number of messages beside the envelope, which I recognize;
b) a number 1 beside a white circle that looks as if there's a white arrow penetrating it from the top right with a red something-or-other (can't really tell, it's so small); and
c) another number 1 beside something that looks a little like the video camera icon (circle, line, circle -- connected at the bottom -- o_o sort of). I've no idea what the latter two are, so I don't know how to get rid of them.
I upgraded from a BB 8830 and I was able to change the icons (not the order) colorful icons. I have tried to do the same on the Tour, to no avail. The current icons are outlines of pictures the clock, the world, wrench, etc. The are the default stock icons and I can't find the colorful actual pictures of the icons. Also, I have not been able to download certain applications such as FB, GMAIL and the Weather Channel. I have tried every which way, but seem to be missing an important step. Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about?

I have 2 indicators showing telling me that I have an unopened email (closed envelope) and a download pending. I have gone through all my emails and downloads and nothing is pending....can't delete the notification symbols.Battery pull did.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Tour used. I havent activated it yet but through my laptop I installed all my info (contacts etc..) through the desktop manager. The service provider is Sprint. I have noticed that there are some apps/icons missing from the menu. Most importantly there is no web/internet icon/app and no BlackBerry app world icon/app. There are also others missing, Pandora, Sprint Nav, Sprint TV and a few others. These I am pretty sure I can download for free, but what about the web and app world? Why are they missing? Is it because the phone is not activated yet?

I found the instructions for the 4.7 OS but the steps are not the same. I don't want to use BBSak or anything. There has to be a way just using the phone, right?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm about to lose it completely with this error. I've tried so many "fixes" but none of them work. Here's my problem:
My phone loads up and:
I get an old background I've never used
I cannot make a call
I cannot open my email
I cannot open my text
I cannot open my voicemail
I cannot open my browser
All attempts to do so freeze my phone and result in the unhappy "App Error 523" with the only option to reset.
It gets better...
Battery Pulls do nothing.
All attempts to connect to my PC result in the unhappy error.
All attempts to do a diagnosis result in the unhappy error.
I really have no idea what to do and all technical support from blackberry leads to dead ends and no result.
Pioneer Tour 9630 I cannot get into the phone for any OS Version, I assume it is relatively current as the phone is less than two months old.
A battery pull did not fix the issue
The apps I loaded were google earth, a GPS Navigation system, ESPN, and weather.
All my phone will do is show a white screen with Error 503 Reset. I have tried taking the battery out and that did not work. All it get is a white screen with a little timer in the middle for 3 or 4 minutes.
It will not connect or do anything with the desktop manager. I have tried the launcher to get it connected, but to no avail.
I had the sotweare problem that everyone has been having lastley yesterday an i couldt fix it in anyway and today i was like wat the heck let me give it another try to i plug my phone in the computer open desktop manager (5.0) an i pressed aplication loader and update softwear an it had some new 5.0 (i already was using 5.0) so i clicked on it and it reset my phone and now it works perfect but im missing my browser.

Also all I did was upgrade an app through blackberry's app store. How can that cause such a critical issue?

I am unable to setup my gmail account because I don't see the 'I want to create or add an email address' option button in the email setup screen..The setup screen only displays 'I want to use a work email account with a BlackBerry Enterprise Server'

So my Sprint Blackberry Tour 9630 takes on average 13-15 minutes with a battery pull reset. I love the phone, and have no complaints about it except for this issue. I've had plenty of blackberries and this is taking the longest. I have no clue as to why it takes so long - I dont have any apps really installed, and no pictures/music, etc. loaded.
Anyone have any thoughts or ideas how I can make it run faster?This is the stats of my phone:

In fact, I have no idea if my service provider, US Cellular, even uses a SIM card. Is this something I will have to discuss with my service provider or is this something I can fix? I can't seem to even see a SIM card on the phone.

My problem is all of my contacts somehow have a custom (or personalized) ringer. When I edit my contact details and go into Custom Ring Tones/Alerts,they ALL have Ringer_ClassicPhone as the personalized ringer...

I ran over my Blackberry Tour, rendering the screen unusable.
I can access the device from Desktop Manager, and I can run exe.Autoloader/factoryreset from the Windows command prompt.
However, this does not remove the Verizon phone number from the device. Verizon won't work with the phone because the screen is cracked.
What's the correct way to wipe the Verizon data from the command prompt?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI got a replacement phone from insurance and then restored it - it came w. OS 5.0.0.732However, all the new email that i receive only let me "delete or cancel".I have the correct setting for the Email reconciliation:
Delete On: Prompt
Wireless Reconcile: On
On Conflicts: Mailbox Wins
Any help would be really appreciated. I know other people have reported this problem w. different OS's on different phones.
Just did a battery pull with OS 5.0.0.419 and for the first time since the upgrade there was no email about registering with the network after the unit booted up!! Maybe it stops after a while.

Between the process of it going down, i was no longer revieving emails on my phone, so I deleted the account in hopes to simply re-add it and be back in business.Now that I deleted it, im not able to re-add it. Go figure. Im putting my account and password in correctly, and usually it would just load onto my phone. If I open a message it will be there indefinitely, but if I don't open a message it only stays in the inbox for one to two hours, then just disappears.I come into work in the morning and there are 20 or so unopened emails in my POP3 account, but only one or two on my phone, and none older than an hour or so.
Been testing this and, like clock work, the emails are deleted even though I have not erased or even opened them in my outlook app or on the POP3 server.Has anyone else had this issue Verizon has had me do both soft and hard resets of the phone with no solution.Maybe I got a special "Tiger Woods Edition 9630"?
