I have a Blackberry Tour 9630 v4.7.1.40 carrier is Bell Mobility.No background applications running, however where I'm situated I have No Coverage could this be causing the battery to drain so fast ?
View 7 RepliesThis is my third Tour (I just got this one a week ago) and with it sitting in my pocket where I have service, not running ANY applications, it is running hot and draining battery very quickly. Did a battery pull, double checked memory leaks, and nothing is taking care of it. It's draining at about 15% per hour. Any thoughts (other than Tours suck.)

The other night I had left my Tour on my desk like I do every night and locked the phone and left it there uncharging like I always do when going to bed. ( I charge my phone in the morning) Well the other night and today I noticed that the battery is draining really fast. It went from about 80% charge to 15% overnight. I had no programs running and nothing that would drain the battery. Before this happening, my batter would only use about 10-15% just over night, and it seems weird that my phone is starting to almost die on me overnight. Any suggestions on what to do? I dont have any programs running besides the 5 that show up when you hold the home button.

At work, I don't get a signal, so I have been turning off the radio...and in that state, after 24 hours, the battery is usually still at 100%.Now....my battery is draining down to 40% in 5 hours....any thoughts anyone?

I have not gone onto the internet either. Any help would be gratefully received.Htc told me to run the battery down completely then charge it for 8 hours, which I have done twice but to no avail.

-Back up device using desktop manager
-Back up contacts/calendar/etc. in outlook
-Wipe using BBSAK
-Install new OS
-Contacts, messages, settings, etc. should be restored automatically after update?
It seems that everytime I reset my Tour, my Yahoo & MSN email icons revert back to the original default look, losing the Y! and MSN logos. I have to resend the service books inorder to get the logos to appear in the bottom of the email icon. Anyone else have this annoying issue?

I've had my blackberry for awhile but I havnt heard about how often you should charge it. Does it matter? I can't let it go completely dead cause when its almost dead it stops receiving. I have a cradle charger I put it on everyday when I go to bed. I was going to get a siedo exntended battery but I didn't want to mess it up by charging too much.

Last night I checked the battery usage and noticed something called 'RILD' was using up 14% of my battery life. What is it? Can you get rid of it? Why was it appearing last night but today after power cycling my phone it's no longer on the list of battery uses?
In addition I noticed that it seems to be taking much longer to charge my battery now than it did before. My car charger seems to be ineffective at charging even though it appears to be working correctly. The light on the charger is lighting up and my phone's indicator is showing it as being charged. But after 30 minutes of charging it hasn't budged the battery meter one iota.
My Tour 9630 doesn't charge after some level when charged through the adapter; but it charges well when plugged through a USB to a PC or laptop !!

View 8 Replies View RelatedMy blackberry tour died of battery last night and I tried charging it when I got home, it didn't charge. I tried the wall charger, and I tried different plugs. It came up with a battery sign with a lightening bolt. Also, I tried USB charger and nothing worked. I took the battery out a couple times too and let it sit for 20 mins and even a half hour, and i put it in and nothing has worked. I pressed the power button a couple of times and took the SIM card out and still nothing.

Luckily, I had a wake up call to my room at 7am, because when I looked to see why my phone alarm didn't go off at 6:30am, it was completely dead. It took about a 15 minute initial charge just to get the phone to boot. I've never had that happen before. Is this common? Anyone else every have this? For a while my battery life was pretty bad. i finally learned how to manage my battery life and for the past few months I have been able to go a whole day and still have 40-60% battery left. The past two days though by 10pm my phone has been dead. Does anyone know what could be causing my battery life to be so bad over the past two day?
