BB Tour 9630 :: Replacement Tour Battery Draining Fast / Running Hot
Aug 2, 2010This is my third Tour (I just got this one a week ago) and with it sitting in my pocket where I have service, not running ANY applications, it is running hot and draining battery very quickly. Did a battery pull, double checked memory leaks, and nothing is taking care of it. It's draining at about 15% per hour. Any thoughts (other than Tours suck.)

Apr 30, 2010I recently upgraded to OS 5 on the Tour and noticed the whole messaging functionality has changed a lot. With the old OS I could select an email and choose to forward. Then in the To: field I could start typing a contact's name from the address book and it would autocomplete the user and let me choose the address I wanted. Now with OS 5.0 when i type in the contact's name nothing happens. And there is no option to select from a contact list. What am I missing? It shouldn't be this hard to send messages with the new OS, right?

Mar 31, 2010I've only had my tour for about a couple months now. The other night I had left my Tour on my desk like I do every night and locked the phone and left it there uncharging like I always do when going to bed. ( I charge my phone in the morning) Well the other night and today I noticed that the battery is draining really fast. It went from about 80% charge to 15% overnight. I had no programs running and nothing that would drain the battery. Before this happening, my batter would only use about 10-15% just over night, and it seems weird that my phone is starting to almost die on me overnight. Any suggestions on what to do? I dont have any programs running besides the 5 that show up when you hold the home button.

Feb 8, 2010After a recent update of the software on my Tour, I find the battery draining INCREDIBLY fast when the Radio is turned off.
At work, I don't get a signal, so I have been turning off the radio...and in that state, after 24 hours, the battery is usually still at 100%.Now....my battery is draining down to 40% in 5 hours....any thoughts anyone?

Aug 6, 2010I've entered a pre-paid SIM card and can't read the phone book on my TOUR, i dont even have the option to retract them from the card to the phone when i go to the menu. Aug 24, 2010I've had my Storm 2 for about 5 months now and at first it was running awesome-ly. Now, if I type to fast during a message of any sort, it'll freeze on that screen and I won't be able to do anything until I hit the back button and re enter the message I was writing to finish it. Also, I've noticed that apps crash a lot, and that overall, it is just much slower. I'm very good about closing apps when I'm done with them, so I don't really know where this lag could be from.

Apr 28, 2010I'm new to the community. A little info about me My name is Steve, I am a Sprint ASC Technician in Indiana. I currently carry a Tour.I've worked on countless BlackBerrys, processed many repairs and exchanges, and have studied these phones from their hardware to their software. However, I have come across a problem that I cannot repair. Let me explain. BlackBerry Tour on Sprint. The device will not power on. I have done the standard protocol on devices that will not power up-- replaced battery, tried to connect to Desktop Manager, try connecting to JL Commander-- none of which had any effect. The owner of the phone has accepted that I will have to order him another one, but has propositioned me outside of work and offered me a handsome reward if I can get the contacts and texts messages off of the old one somehow. I told him how unlikely the possibility is, but with the amount of money he is willing to pay me for it, I am going to try.My question to you gurus out there: What can I do to accomplish such a task? I took his motherboard out and put it in different Tour's housing, hoping it was just some insignificant cable problem from the original housing, but sadly it still did not power on. The device has only been used for about 3 months, and the motherboard has no signs of abuse of any kind. Does anyone have any ideas, crazy or not, how to get this motherboard to power on so I recover his contacts and/or text messages? He bought me a soldering kit and told me if there's ANYTHING else I need to get the job done, let him know no matter the cost.

His only concern is that, in our business we will need to use Handheld Contact to integrate with a program called ACT! and we are not sure that the tour will hold all of our contacts? Jun 17, 2010So, from my last 2 topics, I've finally received my replacement Blackberry (Bold 9650). This is probably a dumb question but here it goes, everything I had on my Tour isn't on the battery right? My replacement doesn't have a battery so I have to use the battery from my Tour. When I use the Tour battery on my Bold, it'll just act as a battery and just give life to the Bold right?
Another question, what's the original os on the Bold? Is there a new update or one coming up? I got my replacement because of the update that I did on my dm and now I'm afraid to update it from dm. Should I not do updates over ota?

Jan 26, 2010Every time I put my phone on the table it restarts. It only really occurs when the phone lands on the table. Other than that it doesn't but every time I put the phone on the table or something its restarts and its becoming a little annoying. I have tried numerous battery pulls and nothing. Feb 24, 2010Ok Ive had my sprint Tour for about 3 weeks now here are some little things that make me wanna take it back and try the Samsung Monent instead. now keep in mind my first bb was the nextel 8350i.
1. media issue. i cannot get my itunes library to sync using the media sync.this was never an issue on my old bb. I've everything no go.
2. i've updated my phone to the no os 5.0.484 and still very buggie.
3. the 3g isn't very fast now it is a major upgrade from my 1/2 g with nextel.
4. It finally seems to me that owning a blackberry is like owning a microsoft pc you always have to updaye just to keep it running right

What i mean is most all of the sprint phones if you are out of town and you lose your phone and you go to a store and get a new phone as soon as they activate the new phone through the back up contacts on there sprints website it will automactly put your contacts in your new phone.I know you can save them on your pc but if i dont have my lap top with me how can i get the contacts and numbers into my new phone that i get when iam out of town.I was told there was a third party app to down load that will transfer them. so if you are out of town and lose your blackberry how do you get your contacts in the new blackberry if you dont have your pc with you ?
