Motorola Photon 4G :: Receiving Pictures In Text Messages-Sprint?

Since I purchased my Photon a couple weeks ago, I have had this issue. Whenever someone sends me a text message including a photo, I receive a text from '9000' indicating that the person (phone number only-no name) has sent me a picture message, and prompts me to click on the Sprint picture mail website link to view the photo. Once I click the link, and the site finally opens, the picture is visible. Because the text is sent from 9000, I can't reply to the sender of the message by hitting 'reply,' because I would be replying to 9000. I called Sprint about this MMS issue, and they told me it's because this is a GSM phone. I'm hoping there is some setting or configuration that needs to be adjusted to allow my incoming picture messages to appear properly

my wife and i got Photons last wednesday night. we really love the phone but for some reason im not getting most of her text messages and shes not getting my sent text messages. her phone appears to not have this problem. we got our phones at radioshack an d we have 30 days to return them or trade them in. im just not sure what to do. i have my phone set up with all my apps

I have a Motorola Electrify from US Cellular, and am able to get text messages from anyone that is not on the Sprint network. My sprint friends receive texts from me, but when they answer, I do not get them.
Is there a setting that I should check, or have them to check?

i bought a photon at best buy today, carried it around for a while, installed the netflix app, brought it home, plugged it in, and after i tell it to install the system update, it downloads, i click install, and it shuts down immediately, starts itself back up, and then as soon as everything comes back up, i get a message that says update has failed. this has happened 3 times now, downloaded on wi-fi

Anyone used or using Drive First?I installed it, was using it, but just too much for me, I already use a car dock, motospeak and bluetooth.(Yes, trying to be safe).It just does not intrgrate well with Google Voice.Anyway, it seemed to install an app when I signed up for it, the app is called Smart Device Manager.After cancelling Drive First it continues to lock my screen when the car moves.I figured out which app is is, but the only available option is "uninstall updates" and it keeps wanting to re-update the app after I uninstalled updates. I have uninstalled updates and reinstalled a few times, but it seems that app is dug in there, and won't leave.Because Sprint customer service has NO CLUE (after 4 reps) how the app works, or how to get rid of it?

When i get a text or mms that i would like to forward on to some of my friends, and after getting to the To: box...there is no option or + sign to open up all the contacts. As it stands right now i have to tap each letter on the dial pad to load up the people i want to send it too..

On several occasions my wife has not received my text messages. (It happens every now and then.) I see the receipt, on my phone, that it was sent to her, but she didn't receive it. Does that mean there is something wrong with my phone or her's. I use Handcent SMS app. and my wife has a Palm Pre Plus phone. Note: This happened a few times with my backflip too.

I have successfully synched my Motoactv and my HTC Evo and it is receiving calls but it is not receiving any text or calendar messages. I use google voice as my texting service.I've only had the Motoactv for 2 days and I am extremely happy with this device. I will be going on my first run today.

Yesterday my phone suddenly stopped vibrating when I receive a text message. I have my phone settings on "vibrate when in silent mode" (which it is in silent mode) and the text message settings in vibrate. When I check "vibrate" in the messaging settings, the phone vibrates, but not when I am actually receiving a text message. I use no apps for text messaging other than the one installed on the phone. Is anyone else having this problem? I have turned the phone off and took the battery out for about 5 minutes, restarted and still nothing!

I am on my 3rd Photon - Sprint is ordering another one as each has been defective. I am tired of the hassle - are other people experiencing this? I have sworn by HTC, and the specs on the phone were excellent, but it's been a nightmare! How can 3 phones all be defective? I live is San Diego and work in Los Angeles.

url..Sprint is doing away with their Premiere Program (for Gold Members) and if you don't use it by Dec 31, you loose it. They also will only give you 14 days to try phones instead of 30, ETF's are now $350. Unlimited Data will soon be gone replaced by Data Caps and Bandwidth Throttling.What's funny is I just spoke with a Retentions Manager and he told me that the e-mail came out 30 minutes ago and how did I know about it already. I told him the Webz is a Blaze with the news already. They want to be Verizon and AT&T with lesser service (Data Speeds), their 3G is a Joke compared to the other 2 and 4G (WiMax) is no where near LTE. He claimed they will have LTE, but that will take forever and a day. I have had a Tower down by my house for 2 months now and need an Airwave just to get 3G service in my house.
This is what happens when you get the Darn iPhone. It's the Carrier Killer. They think their Crap does not stink now. I HATE the iPhone and wish it stayed far away from Sprint.Looks like the Bionic is in my near future. I just bought the Photon too. Guess I will eat the OLD ETF as I am still Grandfathered into that one and go with Verizon.

Has anyone seen / experienced this? When I have my photon in the car dock and using the GPS, I am unable to receive incoming calls. My girlfriend has called me for the past three days and she says my phone rings and rings and goes to voicemail. I have Sprint Service. I am not using TeleNav or any other navagation, I am just using the GPS mode and Bluetooth is also running. I dont have any other issues with not receiving incoming calls unless its in the dock.

I have a Droid Razr XT912. All of a sudden, I'm not receiving any text messages!! Messaging worked fine when I first got the phone (a few weeks ago), then a couple of days ago, there was a huge delay in getting texts (of a few hours to an entire day), and now, no text messages whatsoever (I know for sure that three separate people have texted me a few times and I've gotten nothing!). I dont' think it's a service issue, as I move around quite a lot and the messages haven't ever arrived (plus, I called my provider and they said everything was fine on their end, but I suppose that's what they always say).
Not sure what the problem is. I haven't made any big changes to the phone since when I received text messages without any problem. Calls/e-mails/updates/apps/etc.still working fine, but curiously, my weather widget stopped updating about a week ago, and still refuses to work, even though my coverage is allegedly fine.Ideas? I'm desperate as most of my communication is done through text.or what it's worth, I live in China and my service provider is China Telecom. The phone has been unlocked and rooted

It rebooted itself once and was fine. Then the screen flashed to a sprint logo and its stuck with the yellow word 'NOW' (like advertisement) on the screen. I've tried plugging in and toggling the power button. I just got this phone and still am figuring it out. Also the notification light is flashing a pink color as well.

I am not sure if any of you are as upset by this as I am, but it does not appear that I will ever be able to use WiMax in my home area (Directly north of Indy). The only possible redeeming possibility is if the Photon can be upgraded to LTE via software fix (similar to the Xoom). I have heard talk from multilple forums that it may be compatible since it has a sim card and that there is LTE in the build.prop file.

So i bought a motorola photon 4G from ebay 5 days ago and had it shipped here to New Zealand. I'm loving the phone but there are a few problems.
When i first switched on my phone (i got it today) it said contacting network, faor quite a while. I was patient and thought this was becuase it was the first time switching on this device. Then it said it couldn't activate the device (sprint). Fair point, because the network was not setup.
So after a while i was able to setup New Zealand's vodafone settings and got my 3G connection working and had data working too. I then swithced off the phone ad turned it back on again. This time it still could not connect to the network and now my settings don't work. Calls and txts work but my data doesn't... not anymore.
Also is there a way for me to get rid of sprint's activation process when i boot up the phone?

I have a Droid Bionic, and ever since i got the phone, i randomly do not get text messages from another user with an Iphone on the Verizon network. It may be happening with other phones, but I'm only aware of the Iphone because she lives with me. Anyone else having issues with not being able to receive texts? I get no notification or anything. It's as if they weren't sent, but they went through on the originating phone.

use the photon on a non-sprint network eg. in another country.......if yes.....do you experience the Sleep of Death and Random Reboot problems.....??becaose as far as i have read the threads i think the problems are seen while connected to sprint's network or while returning to sprint's network after roaming i.e. while switching networks.......

hello, I just upgraded my phone to the .732. Everything went smoothly during the upgrade, ever since then I have been having trouble with receiving text messages and MMS messages. I have gone to 3 sites for free ringtones have sent the ring tones to my phone, I have not received anything. I also have setup google voice and I am not getting any text messages from people tht text my google voice number.

Its been a whole day not sure whats goin on i didnt acually realize it was happening untill a friend came over.I was sending texts out to family and friends but never getting any back which i though was weird but didn't think much of it maybe everone i sent one to was busy...unlikely.So my buddy came by and said he has been texting me back all day several times and i never awnsered just kept sayin whats up or you gettin my text lol.
I thought trying to update might solve the problem so i went to update my profile and prl and as soon as i hit update profile they all started coming in at once had tons of them. but now they dont come when people send them they all come together 15 or 20 minutes after they have wrote me back whats the deal.

I have had my Photon about 6 weeks and have been having issues where people can not call me they get message that phone is not available. Also when I am having those issues the phone will not dial anybody just stays on dialing screen and does not call. Also texts do not come through during that time.If I reboot then I can dial and receive calls for a half day or sometimes a whole day.My phone does get the random reboots started on day one and usually once or twice a day but NEVER has happened while I was actively using it.I have done factory reset. Pulled battery and replaced.
My phone was updated with the latest firware on the day I got it and I check for updates regularlyI do have an SD card in it that was new never in another phone that was formatted by this phone. I have tried using it without card and with card makes no difference.I have started rebooting every morning but I still miss calls.At first I had Google Voice on it, I thought that might be the problem I unloaded it unlinked my google voice account and then did factory reset but that has not helped.I do not tether or use the hotspot feature. I do connect using Wifi when I am at home for internet access.About the only thing I can tell is that it seems to lose phone access after a good amount of web surfing whether it is wifi or 3g. I got the Photon because of the raving reviews of signal strength. I'm finding that the signal is weaker and tends to roam more than my Palm pre. Is this normal for a PHOTON? I would rarely roam at work before but find the photon signal roams alot. Is there a setting or something I can do? Maybe a bad phone? My home signal also tends to wildely fluctuate between one bar and five bars.

I have a c3-01 and it will not receive any text message you send it. I have checked the message center number and all the settings and it all seems fine. I have also tried to do a full factory reset but it wont complete.

My wife's HTC One doesn't seem to be sending text messages to her friend's iPhone 5. Both phones are with AT&T and I can confirm the friend has tried imessage on and off to no avail. My wife can text other iPhone's fine, but this particular one won't receive them.
