I just got my iPhone 4S I have saved people to my contacts but when I recieve a text message from them it does not show me their name, just their number..

On my Lumia 920, the phone dialer will not display the name of the incoming or outgoing contacts if they are saved in international format.
So if my country code is for example +961 and X number is saved as +961-x-xxxyyy, when X calls me from x-xxx-yyy, his name is not shown !!
I keep my contacts in international format since I travel a lot but when I'm home, none of the local country number saved on my phone are recognized.
How do you stop incoming text messages from displaying the message in the notifications bar?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I go into the text messages app, it only shows the current day's messages and the time that I received them. No contact name, no number. I've played around with it a bit, but cant figure out where to even begin addressing this.
I recently switched out my Curve 9350 under warranty, since the old one was overheating and draining the battery. The first one I had didn't have this issue, from the get-go it showed contact names, pictures, and broke the messages down into days, but I could scroll and view all of them. My new one has only shown my text messages in the way I described above.
My contacts' telephone numbers are not saved with the international dialing code. However incoming texts from my contacts come with international dialing code and therefore the contact's name do not appear on the text.

It would work for some contacts but not others so I changed it on the individual contacts by going into their information. I have now tried changing it again but it does not work on one of my contacts. Text messages from other individuals work fine but the one I'm having problems with will only vibrate not ring. I've changed it in the default, I've changed it in their individual account info -- but nothing.

When you receive a call from John it does not specify from which type it comes through, it just says john and the number and not mobile or home or whatever description you gave the number. This is a really annoying issue. I have had quite a few smartphones and they all had that feature.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an unlocked US variant S6 SM-G920T with Baseband (G920TUEU3COK1). I have been using it on Tmobile without issues since Cyber Monday.
But now, randomly, when I get a phone call from a contact that is already in the phone, I see the number on the display rather than the contact name. After I either answer or reject or allow to go to voicemail, and then go look at the call log, the contact name is displayed. This is getting annoying as I keep ignoring calls that I would like to take ( and sometimes need to take).
Only thing I've tried is to clear data and clear cache in the contacts app. Phone is not rooted...
I've just purchased the new Samsung galaxy S6. I'd like to know how you can display the picture of an incoming caller on the screen? I was able to associate an image in the contacts list but for some reason, when that person calls me, their picture doesn't show on the screen. On the IPHONE it shows a full screen image of the person calling.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter certain time in the phone all incoming calls show the same number in caller ID.The number that is shown will be the last call received before the problem starts.The call log shows the correct number but when call is received the same number is shown.This continues till the phone is reset. But it reverts back to the same issue after some time.I thought this was a problem with the phone and changed Handset and SIM card also, but still the problem came back after a couple of months. My service provider is not able to help me. I tried updating the software in the old phone but still the problem was there.This is driving me crazy since there are many calls I dont want to attend.

When I search for the person on my list, and sms him/her it redirects to the conversation, but with the updated name instead of the number. Many names in the address book not showing up. Hence, when I get a call or make one, the name doesn't come up with the number. After the call, the number with the name is visible in call log as outgoing or incoming or missed. In the database details it shows my address book having 238 numbers (these are the numbers currently visible). So how is it that the names are visible in the log and not in the address book and also not visible during a call.

There is no double entries in the phonebook of any of the contacts, ie there is only 1 contact per number - so it should be able to match it up.
Also, phone freezes every so often when I unlock it.
After updating my Neo V to 4.1.B.0.431, contact image in the call screen is very unclear and it's displaying as mixture of pixles. I dint face this on 2.3.4

My 4 day old N97 Mini stopped displaying new text message notifications on the screen and alerting me via a tone or vibration.Before posting I read this forum and other independent forums and did the following:
Checked firmware for phone - was up to date
Checked message tone was active in profiles - was active
Deleted all messages in inbox/drafts/sent - fixed issue had 41 messages total in these 3 folders.
I can't understand this error, I had an iPhone 3G before coming back to Nokia (N97 mini OS served a better purpose) I could store literally 100's of texts and never had a problem, If I can't have more than 40 texts in my folders without the alert turning itself off..Then the phone is useless.... I could have a text sitting there for hours without knowing.I have read other threads that have been marked as SOLVED but without an explanation of why this happens how is it solved if it keeps happening to people? It may have returned the message alert and tone... but if there is a bug it shouldnt me marked as solved..
