May 26, 2011I only recently got my first Android phone, a Motorola Droid 2 and I absolutely love it (though the extended battery is a must-have and probably should just come bundled with the device!) but since I got it, I've been having a very curious issue. Occasionally, when I receive a text message, it displays the sender's correct phone number but the name displayed is that of a different contact. Even when I'm having a back-and-forth text conversation, one of the incoming texts will suddenly appear with someone else's name.

Sep 8, 2012Basically none of my contacts are showing up on my contact list, they seemed to have all been deleted! Also I am not using any filters. As well as this, all my text messages have no contact names assigned to them, just their number. However in my call log, my contacts names come up... And when I click on view contact through the call log, the contact's details all come up!!! For example, one of my contacts, John, is saved on my call log and when I click on view contact through the call log, his address and number comes up, so it is saved. However when he calls, his name doesnt come up...So I'm assuming my contacts are saved on my phone somewhere, but they dont seem to come up on my contact list or text messages!! I recently added my gmail account to my Blackberry.

Mar 4, 2010I have recently purchased an N97 in Australia, when I have incoming calls from my contacts, most do not display names.If SIM contacts are selected, the contacts are displayed but when copied to phone and editted ie; ring tones to contact, additional details, etc and then selecting phone memory as default the contacts are not displayed to most of incoming calls.By reverting to SIM contacts as default, you lose all the additional features of the so called "smart phone".There seems to be no rhym or reason to why some contacts are displaye and most are not! Can anyone help with this frustrating problem?

Jun 18, 2015All my contacts are synced, Facebook profile pics show up on the contact list but Caller ID photos do not show for incoming/sending calls. Its just the generic picture. However Google+ profile pictures do appear in a small circle on the bottom left corner on a gray background.

PS: The problem started after the 5.0 update. I've already reset the phone and tried doing the update with PC Companion. Nothing works.
Nokia Lumia :: Incoming Call Shows Incorrect Contact?
Sep 24, 2012Our office recently bought a handful of the Nokia Lumia 880 phones for our "out of office" staff. These phones have all been updated to the latest versions of the software/firmware using Zune on a desktop.
There still appears to be a problem with incoming calls showing the incorrect contact. It appears to be ignoring the first 4 digits of the phone number and only matches the last part. We live in Australia and have to mobile syntax of 04 XXXX XXXX. Numbers saved in the phone are saved without spaces like: 0401234567
Here's an example of how to repeat the bug.
Say this is a friends number: 0450100200 and you have that saved in your phone as Friend 1
If you have a second friend with a similar number on a different network like: 0417100200 and Friend 2 calls you, the contact name for Friend 1 will appear on the call screen.
We tested this theory by adding my number into the phone as a brand new contact, but we changed the first few digits of the number. My phone number was not originally in the phone, but when I called, my name appeared on the screen, even though the number saved was different to my actual number.
I don't know whether anyone else has this issue, but I would like to get it resolved. It seems sloppy design for the numbers to be loosly matched like this.

Sep 18, 2014I use Htc one m8 and a Google nexus 7. I store my contacts on gmail. My question is that all my contact photos show up on my computer and Nexus but some photos do not show on my HTC. The same images are missing from my wife's HTC. These are not large images, some just clipart.

Dec 3, 2014Due to other problems with my iPhone 5 (A1428, GSM model), I had to Reset All Settings yesterday.Â
Since then, most things have been working fine. As far as I had been able to tell, phone calls and text messaging seem to have been working fine. I have texted multiple people today.Â
However, my brother tells me that today, all of his text messages to me are being rejected. It seems odd. He says he has been texting just fine with everyone else, so my concern is that by Resetting All Settings I have caused this issue with some-but-not-all of my contacts.Â

Oct 28, 2012I have a S2 on UK Vodafone contract even though I am currently living in NZ. My phone is a UK model.UK Vodafone have terminated the Passport service as of 1st November which means I now go on to NZ roaming which at �1.65/NZ$3.30 a minute is somewhat steep - I also pay that amount for the incoming call.I now need to block all incoming calls on my phone so as I am not tempted to answer calls at odd times of the day or night (quite hard when we are 13 hours ahead of UK and totally out of sync with them) and pay extortionate amounts of money BUT I need to leave the phone available to make and receive text messages.It is not as easy as to just get a NZ phone contract as this was my life line with friends and family in UK until my provider pulled the passport service so need to disable the phone I have.how to do this so as I can still send/receive text but NOT receive voice calls on my S2?

Aug 21, 2014Over the summer my friend visited family out of state and gave them access to her icloud services. I don't know the specifics on what kind of access, but I know her nephew used his ipod to have internet/messaging/emailing capabilities. One day after she returned home, I was out and my phone rang with a facetime request from her. Her contact information popped up on my phone. I answered and it was her nephew. I hung up and then received a text from "her" that said "Who is this."Â Â We figured out who we were and I told her that I was getting messages from him but it was coming up as her in my phone.
We also realized that she thought I had been ignoring her texts, as she was no longer receiving any texts from me. She talked to her family and they said they removed anyone there from her services, however she is still not getting my texts. We both use iPhones. She is getting texts from other people and I get her texts, but she does not receive mine. I have deleted her and re-added her, but still no luck. And when I re-added her, my phone recognized her and all of our old texts popped back in.

Galaxy S5 :: Incoming Texts Go To Whole New Conversation?
Apr 15, 2015When I send a text it appears in the original conversation but when I get a response it's in an entirely new conversation with only their responses.....so it looks like I am talking to myself and so are they. It appears that the response number is altered and I am unable to respond in that conversation. It appears as area code 1(1562) instead of the proper 1(562). So somehow, somewhere an extra 1 is being added. I checked my contact info, and the number is listed as (562) so the phone itself is doing it (S5) could this be because of the recent software update? How do I fix it so i can have normal texting back?
