I used to have Alert Matrix for my BB and it allowed me to assign specific alerts to email contacts that I had. I could turn it on and off so if I was waiting for an important email it would alert me but things like spam or unimportant mail were silent. It was almost like my phone was a pager because the alert would continue to sound until I acknowledged it. Is this possible on an iphone?
I am Disappointed with my Meamo contact app, I want to assign an image to my contact file but it says not enough memory, it didn't specify why.I didn't have any problems with S60 third edition or other Symbian devices, the size of the photograph did not matter. It was a more difficult process to assign an image to a contact file with my N900, with my other S60 third & fifth edtion phone, only had to choose a picture from image & use image to assign to contact, has anyone experienced this problem? Where to find other "Contact apps" that is more user friendly?
is it possible to assign for each contact which SIM card to use when making call? All I could find was just either set the default SIM for calls or ask every time which card to use. I have SIM where I can make free calls to particular numbers and second SIM for all other calls/sms/data and I don't want to select every time which SIM to use when making a call.
Is there a way for a blind person to assign ringtones to contacts usin the Cliq2. I am blind and working with an accessibility app called mobile accessibility. I can get to contacts through the applications list but can't seem to get it to work from there. I need to know how to select the contact and go from there. I can't find additional info thusly I can't do the rest.
I know this may be a stupidly obvious question, but I can't for the life of me find a way of setting a ringtone for each contact. Used to be able to do that with every other phone but I can't find the option in the N900. I can add new fields, new numbers, email addresses and even a picture. But to assign a specific ringtone to that person is not there.
If I assign a picture to a contact using the gallery i.e. pictures that I took and store on my SD card. Then I say delete the picture(s from the SD card do I lose the picture assigned to the contact? Or is the picture assigned to a contact 'special' and also resized and kept somewhere else?
How do I assign a unique ringtone for a contact when I get an sms text? I do not want to get notified when I get an email from this contact. I want a unique ringtone only for this contact when I get an sms text. I believe the storm does not separate ringtones between emails and sms text. Seems it combines these two as "messages". Can this be done on the storm?
I'm just wondering if there was a way to re-assign a contact to an e-mail contacts list? I have 4 e-mail accounts connected to my BlackBerry Torch, and most of my business contacts have been saved to my personal email. I know it sounds a little silly as they are all on the same device, but it has a become a hassle in other aspects.
I just went through with the newest update (system version 4.5.91.MB860.ATT.en.US) and I am now unable to assign ringtones for contacts, and can't change my regular/universal phone ringtones to anything other than the defaults. Anybody else having these problems, or know how to get around them?
Anyone know how to assign a custom DC Alert tone to individual contact like my old NEXTEL could? I can do ringtones, but that is only for when the contact calls. I can also assign a custon tone to the DC Alert but its the same no matter who alerts me.
I recently downloaded Blackberry media sync to my desktop and loaded a few songs from my itunes library onto my Blackberry. The 12 songs are in my music section on my Blackberry but how do I assign one of those songs as a ringtone to a specific person in my address book? I cant seem to get the song moved to my ringtones area.
Does anyone of you guys also have problems with different sound levels on the incoming sms ringtones? when i receive a sms from a friend the sms sound level goes from high to low sometimes (actually this happens kinda often, a few times / day). Im on the jailbroken 3.1.2 firmware.
Is there a way to assign different email signatures to different email accounts? I'm only seeing the single entry for the signature, yet no option to specify which account uses it, and nowhere to add multiple signatures. seems like another blatant omission (along with the "common" inbox.)
I cannot figure this out. I'm coming from a curve, and I could just make an exception in the profile and a contact's ringer could be whatever I wanted. Here, when I add a custom contact, it gives me the options to change the phone ringer and the message ringer. even if I don't change anything with regards to the messages, when that person texts me or emails me it plays whatever the message was set to.
Nowhere can I find the option to keep the active profile for the ringer. Additionally, if I change the messages ringer to match the text messaging ringer, it also plays that ringer for emails from that contact. Am I missing something really simple, or is this something that might need to be addressed down the road?I ran a search, and found some similar questions, but nothing spot on so I started this thread.
just getting to grips with my new android phone ( dragging myself into the 21st century as my daughter informs me ) so using the functions is still new to me. However one thing I have found is that, unlike my old Samsung Monte, I can't assign individual test alert tones on a contact basis so that all have the same alert. Looking through forums it seems the way to go is to use a separate app that will do that and seems that there are three mainly recommended - chomp sms, handcent sms and Go SMS Pro. So I have two questions, firstly does anyone have recommendations as to which may be the better to go for of the three or have a better sugegstions. Secondly anything I need to do when installing an app on an android phone, probably a dumb quetion to some but I'd like to have use of my phone for more than a week before managing to blow it up
I did SSH my iphone using DISKAID, and in DISKAID there's this random glitch where sometimes when you're renaming a file it will name the whole folder the new name, and it happened to me with the MobileSMS.app folder, but i changed it back and didn't notice any problem. about an hour later i get a text (sound works), and while typing my reply the SMS app froze (if it's any clue it was during the magnifying glass thingy was on). I went in and out of the app using home button (multitasking enabled) but it wouldn't unfreeze so i rebooted the phone and it came back normal. but since then- no incoming SMS sound!
What's even weirder than that is the fact that even if i'm going to SETTINGS SOUNDSNEW TEXT MESSAGE and tap the different ringtones I don't get any sound!
Oh - another clue: During my browsing through the phone's file system I did find another "ringtones" folder somewhere and deleted them all except for two - but as far as I know the call ringtones and the SMS ringtones are never in the same folder.. still, could I have deleted the SMS ringtone files? that would make pefect sense but.. is it even possible? or could it be something I accidently changed in the MobileSMS.app folder?
