Motorola Droid :: Assign A Unique Ringtone To Each Contact?
Sep 22, 2011
Is it possible to assign a unique ring tone to each contact? I understand the process of bringing in ring tones to the SD card, so having enough ring tones is not a problem.
Is there a way for a blind person to assign ringtones to contacts usin the Cliq2. I am blind and working with an accessibility app called mobile accessibility. I can get to contacts through the applications list but can't seem to get it to work from there. I need to know how to select the contact and go from there. I can't find additional info thusly I can't do the rest.
I'm really enjoying my spiffy new Raxr MAXX HD. Coming from the first LTE phone I'm especially enjoying not carrying spare batteries and popping the back off my phone every few hours. I'm in the process of personalizing my phone and I can't figure out how to assign a song as a ringtone.
The changes made to the email account mechanism is causing me grief. Who thought it would be a good idea to remove the functionality to assign each email account their own notification ringtone? I use this as a tool to know when an email is from my personal account or from my work account. Now I have to pick the phone every time to find out which it was. That was dumb of Motorola. It need to be returned to it's previous level of functionality. I speaking of the corporate email accounts specifically.
This is probably a n00b question, but is there any way to assign a specific ringtone to a specific contact? I just switched from an LG Lotus, where I was able to give each contact a specific ringtone. I'd love to be able to do that with my Style..
So the Razr Maxx is my first Android device. I got to in mid April. I was having issues toggling between wi-fi and 4/3G. I believe I was on one of the first waves of receiving the The software update Version.6.12.181.XT912. This update seemed to temporarily fix the issue for about a week or so, BUT then the problem seemed to resurface. I told myself that I have unlimited data so I will just turn off my wi-fi and just use the 4G data connection which isn't a problem to access in Phoenix. Verizon releases their "Data Usage" widget a short time later and when I saw myself approaching 1GB in less than a week, I started to think of what I would do if I was tied to a block data plan or a family/shared data plan that was rumored. Two weeks later I am approaching 4GB and decide to start turning my wi-fi on. I encounter the same problem twice within 1 day. Verizon support decides they want to update the sim card PRL. I cold boot the phone as instructed. Within the next 24 hrs, it happens again. I noticed this occurred when I was in somewhat of a "fringe" coverage (1-2 4G bars). Is anyone else having any similar issues? Are there any ICS beta testers that were having the same issue prior to beta ICS?
If I assign a picture to a contact using the gallery i.e. pictures that I took and store on my SD card. Then I say delete the picture(s from the SD card do I lose the picture assigned to the contact? Or is the picture assigned to a contact 'special' and also resized and kept somewhere else?
I just went through with the newest update (system version 4.5.91.MB860.ATT.en.US) and I am now unable to assign ringtones for contacts, and can't change my regular/universal phone ringtones to anything other than the defaults. Anybody else having these problems, or know how to get around them?
How do I assing an mp3 to text notification. I have sent 3 mp3's to my phone. If I want to assign one of these to a call (or contact specific call) they show up in my ringtones choices. But if I go to "messaging" "settings" "Select ringtone" only the original phone ringtones are there. NOT one of my mp3's.

I have tons of contacts and don't like the quiet tone that's set on my new phone. It will take hours to do individually so need to learn how to do all at once.

After upgrading to 5.1.1 I am unable to assign my mp3s as custom music to contacts. I can assign default ring tones but even if my mp3 seems correctly associated to a contact, when I receive a call the default ringtone plays.
