How can I turn off spelling correction when text messaging. iPhone thinks it knows the English language better than I do and I'm tired of its mindless interventions.

In my text messages I cant seem to find where to turn off auto correction for spelling. Also I noticed there is no way to save pictures that are sent through text messaging. Can anyone help me...This phone does not have many options for customizing and I am thinking about switching this phone to an htc phone or something.

In my LG G3, when I want to make correction to the text that I have typed, I see a "droplet" icon near the character I want to change. This is the icon that is used to drag and place the cursor somewhere else. (I do not know the correct technical term for this draggable icon.)
The problem is that I cannot touch and drag this droplet icon. Usually this icon is rectangle in shape, but I see it as a droplet icon. Initally it was a rectangle icon. I accidently pressed some key which changed the cursor to "droplet" shape.
The text-messaging app or underlying UI aggressively corrupts my messages. For example, if I enter "/tmp/" as part of a URL, this is changed to "/top/". The software fights to maintain this corruption, so that I have to enter a blank-space and then delete it to maintain the actual string that I want. I want to disable this corruption.ne of the first things that i did with this hand-set was to change the settings for the hardware and virtual keyboards, to disable auto-correction; those settings appear to be as I left them.

Is there any way to have one language with auto-correction turned on and the other language's auto-correction turned off?
It seems rather stupid to not have this function available in the first place as there seems to be a lot of languages' auto-correction which are not really helpful.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have my phone set up to auto off and on each day. I also have run a Wifi at my house, so my phone is always using this connection first. Most times when I try to send my first message of the day it hangs until I shut down all connections. I do notice that the UMA isnt connected. I see the 5 bars with wifi. After a on/off cycle the UMA and wifi come back on. The wifi signal is strong at 2-3 lines always. Its like the 3G and UMA are fighting one another and no one wins. Am I missing something?

It's wonderful that dictation recognizes these words.But when dictation doesn't use the desired spelling then remedial editing is required.For example, 'Alison', 'Allison', and 'Alyson' are all correct spellings for a name. View 8 Replies View RelatedNot sure why but all of a sudden for the last 2 days, the ios auto-spelling correct feature keeps changing the word "me" to "mr". I don't want to turn the feature off because it's useful for correcting all my other mistakes but that one is really annoying because I never use "mr" (all lower case) and often use "me" Does anyone know how to edit the "dictionary" its using to make the corrections. I've got a jb ip4. It's been jailbroken for awhile and this problem is only recent so I know it's not tied to having just been jailbroken.

When I send messages to an ordinary cell phone, they sometimes go through as photo messages even though I have not touched the camera icon next to the text window. When I intentionally send a photo message, my phone asks me if I want to take a new photo or use one from my camera roll. View 2 Replies View RelatedOn the Sony build of Android 4.0.4 (all Builds!) on a German "SK17i", the settings for turning off the auto-correction for punctuation is plainly ignored.That is: "Automatical Upper- Lower case" is UNchecked, "automatical replacement" is UNchecked and also in the XPERIA keyboard setting I changed the word suggestions to "never help with typing, do not suggest".And STILL, every time there is a full stop the phone starts the next word at upper case (also at places like "e.g."). If I hit upper case at the beginning of a sentence or after an abreviation, as I am used to with a QWERTZ keyboard, it switches to CAPSLOCK FOR ALL FOLLOWING words in that textbox.It is not even consistent in doing so: when entering a title for an appointment, the phone "Upper Cases" Every Word There Is And Switches To CAPSLOCK When Pressing Shift One Time Regardless Of The Punctuation.It is so annoying I sometimes want to smack the phone to the wall and grab my old Palm Pre which just works like it should, that is like a regular keyboard.I consider this to be a serious bug as the software is clearly IGNORING the system settings.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSince lollipop update my Note 3 underlines spelling errors in red. I hate auto correction but love the red underlining feature. You need to install google keyboard for it to work however you don't need to use google keyboard. Just have it installed. This feature never worked on note 3 until 5.0 update. I'm at an ATT store at the mall and I installed google keyboard in the s6edge but I cannot seem to get the red underlining to work? A screenshot would be great confirmation. I really need this feature. It draws my attention to possibly misspellings without changing them. I use a lot of jargon that gets "autocorrected" into jibberish if I use normal autocorrection.
