IPhone :: Error With Auto-spelling Correct

Sep 1, 2010

Not sure why but all of a sudden for the last 2 days, the ios auto-spelling correct feature keeps changing the word "me" to "mr". I don't want to turn the feature off because it's useful for correcting all my other mistakes but that one is really annoying because I never use "mr" (all lower case) and often use "me" Does anyone know how to edit the "dictionary" its using to make the corrections. I've got a jb ip4. It's been jailbroken for awhile and this problem is only recent so I know it's not tied to having just been jailbroken.

IPhone :: Any Way To Edit Auto-correct Items?

Feb 11, 2010

Just noticed that iPhone will auto-capitalize its own name, and Satan, but not God. Any way to make God also auto-capitalize?And for that matter, how do you reject an auto-correct decision? When you hit Space it puts in its suggestion, then you have to backspace and type it again. Helpful when it's right, but pretty annoying when it's wrong.

Motorola Atrix 4G :: Keyboard Auto-Correct?

Nov 13, 2011

Just a suggestions for Moto, auto-correct should not automatically correct proper nouns. It is impossible to have every name in any database, so if I capitalize a word, it should just leave it alone. I have typed so many things on fb and elsewhere only to see a name of a person or place coming up something ridiculous after I put it up.

Lumia 1520 :: Why Doesn't Auto-correct Fix Certain Words

Nov 20, 2015

I have a Nokia 1520 and I love the phone. I have been curious about the autocorrect function and have tried looking for these options myself but I can't find answers.

1. my phone recognizes that cant and dont (without apostrophes) are misspelled words, but it still does not autocorrect them. It does pop up with word replacement and I can tap on the can't or don't suggestion, but why does the phone not automatically change it out?

2. is there a way to set which words I want replaced with something? I know the iphone has an option to switch out words but I can't find anything like that on my windows device.

I do not want to reset my dictionary as I have had the phone for a while, it is inconvenient and it seems like there would be an option to fix it.

BB Storm2 9550/9520 :: Custom Words Collection (auto Correct)

Mar 19, 2010

I was looking in my backups in Desktop Manager and noticed a file called CustomWordsCollection. I suspect this is the SureType "learning" dictionary. I want to wipe it out and start over.So I loaded this up in advanced and selected the line and clicked "clear". But it won't clear. So then I thought I might try to find an earlier back up with only a few words (my current one has 200+) and overwrite the existing one. So I found one with 37 records. I double arrow clicked to move the older backup from the left to the right, and it ADDED those words. I can't figure out how to just wipe out the existing 200+ customwordscollection. I thought I was supposed to be able to clear these and it would basically "delete" the number to 0. Am I doing something wrong or misunderstanding the functionality? Please help. I'm pretty confident this is the file that needs to be wiped out to get me to a start over place.

Galaxy S6 :: Auto-correct Filling Email Addresses And Deleted Languages

Dec 9, 2015

On my Samsung S6 Edge+, the default samsung keyboard autocorrect having issues.....

Problem 1:
Previously I installed multiple languages for auto correct so I could text different folks in different languages, then I decided to uninstall and disable those other languages, but auto correct still has the entire dictionary of foreign languages loaded and there doesn't seem to be an option to remove those other than word by word as I type...

Problem 2:
Since my phone is synced with my gmail, whenever I start typing any words, it will suggest random people's email addresses in the autocorrect which I can't seem to disable. I am not even typing in the "To" field of any email either, just googling things or texting.

I checked my contacts list on gmail but that's empty. It seems to just have memorised every single person I ever emailed even 10 years ago. Short of deleting those old emails, how do I get rid of those email address suggestions from my autocorrect?

Again, there doesn't seem to be an option to turn those email suggestions off and I can't even delete these ones from the autocorrect list - doing so says "are you sure", I confirm, and next time I start typing a few characters, that same email address gets suggested again!

Motorola Photon 4G :: Default Keyboard Setting Has Auto-correct Turned Off

Aug 18, 2011

I've seen a couple comments here and there re: the Phonton keyboard being "difficult", and I think those comments are completely warranted when you consider the settings Motorola / Sprint use as the phone ships. They ship it with Auto correct OFF! I came to this phone after 4+ years of blackberrying. I knew the soft keyboard was going to be an adjustment, but with the Photon it was REALLY bad out of the gate. I'd type something, see that I miss-typed it, then I'd have to select the correct word out of the list above the keyboard (assuming it had some idea of what I was after). Very tedious... So I went poking around in the settings and saw they had a auto-correct setting and it was turned OFF!

Motorola Triumph :: Manage To COMPLETELY Leave Out The Auto-correct Dictionary For The Keyboard?

Jul 27, 2011

Is this a joke? How did Motorola manage to COMPLETELY leave out the Auto-correct dictionary for the keyboard? And signal strength is pathetic. The phone is great but this is sad, what good is such a well hardware'd phone when you can't get service. I live in NYC, one of Sprint's strongest regions. To date, I haven't been anywhere where I have received 4 bars of service. Since the phone can't, I manually updated the PRL, and lo and behold, it STILL is AWFUL. It's disappointing. Incredibly disappointing. I presume Motorola is fixing the auto-correct issue with an update.The signal is excusable if it's a matter of hardware, but the keyboard simply is not. For 300$, I think I paid for the stock keyboard to have auto-correct.

IPhone :: Controlling Dictation Spelling On It?

Mar 19, 2012

I'm very impressed with the dictation capabilities of the iPhone 4S.Unfortunately, some words—especially names—have multiple spellings. It's wonderful that dictation recognizes these words.But when dictation doesn't use the desired spelling then remedial editing is required.For example, 'Alison', 'Allison', and 'Alyson' are all correct spellings for a name. Unfortunately, dictation uses 'Allison' but I need 'Alison'.Is there any way to train/specify the spelling of words that dictation recognizes but spells differently than is needed?
