IPhone :: Remove Word From IP Auto-Correct Dictionary?
Jan 9, 2010
So at one time or another I typed "tge" instead of "the" but I hit the little X when the iPhone suggested "the" (accident) and now the iPhone recognizes "tge" as a word and never corrects it.Where is the iPhone User Dictionary so I can remove the word "tge"? I've searched and searched but there isn't much out there.
This is the one thing that consistently drives me nuts! I don't want to disable it completely as most of the time it is helpful unless you try to type out "be" and "BR" pops in.
Is this a joke? How did Motorola manage to COMPLETELY leave out the Auto-correct dictionary for the keyboard? And signal strength is pathetic. The phone is great but this is sad, what good is such a well hardware'd phone when you can't get service. I live in NYC, one of Sprint's strongest regions. To date, I haven't been anywhere where I have received 4 bars of service. Since the phone can't, I manually updated the PRL, and lo and behold, it STILL is AWFUL. It's disappointing. Incredibly disappointing. I presume Motorola is fixing the auto-correct issue with an update. The signal is excusable if it's a matter of hardware, but the keyboard simply is not. For 300$, I think I paid for the stock keyboard to have auto-correct.
how on earth I turn off the autocorrect word thing in messaging?I like the word suggestion line but I don't want it to auto-correct my words in the message.I can't seem to find anything in the Settings to do it.I have updated my phone this very morning to get the latest firmware so it's not that.
Is there a way to adjust/add to the auto-correct dictionary for the physical keyboard of the XPRT? On my SOLD BB9650, this was done the first time I picked up the phone. Now, I can't. This phone (while waiting for Gingerbread), would be THE BEST, if it could fix this little problem...
For some reason it refuses to use the word "am"! I've saved it to the dictionary and checked it's there, but still - I can't type "am" using predictive text! All other words have been added and are remembered just fine, but the word "am" ... the ACTUAL word "am" just doesn't want to be predicted. Ever! have to type "a" then select it, then type "m". Or I have to turn my phone sideways and use the keyboard layout. know it's not a problem that's going to bring down HTC, but honestly - it's remarkably frustrating!
My E52 T9 dictionary seems to keep forgetting thr word priority for my more frequent words, and end up the list given when i press * is arranged by alphabetical order. anyway to solve this?
i have a nokia N8 fully updated and working well apart from the T9. Like many others i hate that i can not change a word that i discover was wrong by scrolling back to the word and underlining it then scrolling through with the * button till i find the word it was meant to be. Instead i have to delete the whole word and re-type it.I loved my old nokias as i could do this with them.Anyway i can not for the life of me get my nokia to add Shiver or Shivering to the dictionary. It types pig then i get the ? so i open up spell and the word save and then send but each time i try to type shiver or shivering again i go through the whole process of manually typing the word as it didnt get added to dictionary.
I'm using an Xperia Pro running the latest 2.3.4 release (4.0.2.A.0.58) and have two problems with the user dictionary for text-input. I notice that if I manually add words to the user dictionary (through the settings menu -> Language & keyboard -> User dictionary -> add), then these words do not appear in the as word suggestions when I am typing. I have my setting set to the default of "substitute letters only" for the slide-out and "automatically correct words" for the on-screen keyboard. Secondly, the automatic word suggestion feature often repeatedly suggests old spelling mistakes to me which is quite annoying. I would like a feature where I can also view, edit and delete words which have been automatically added to the automatic dictionary.
I often mistype a word, or forgot to change to an alternate one. Before I could erase a few letters and then finish the word with T9 prediction. After my upgrade to Anna I now have to erase the whole word... Is there no way to activate the T9 for the word I am correcting?
I Like To Type In This Way. I Was Wondering If There Is A Setting That Will Automatically Capitalize The First Letter Of Each Word So That I Don't Have To Keep Hitting Shift Before Each First Letter.
Not sure why but all of a sudden for the last 2 days, the ios auto-spelling correct feature keeps changing the word "me" to "mr". I don't want to turn the feature off because it's useful for correcting all my other mistakes but that one is really annoying because I never use "mr" (all lower case) and often use "me" Does anyone know how to edit the "dictionary" its using to make the corrections. I've got a jb ip4. It's been jailbroken for awhile and this problem is only recent so I know it's not tied to having just been jailbroken.
Just noticed that iPhone will auto-capitalize its own name, and Satan, but not God. Any way to make God also auto-capitalize?And for that matter, how do you reject an auto-correct decision? When you hit Space it puts in its suggestion, then you have to backspace and type it again. Helpful when it's right, but pretty annoying when it's wrong.
won't say it on here, but you have got to see what my iPhone suggested when I accidentally hit a wrong key spelling right. http://www.break.com/usercontent/201...s-orgy-1914596 I can't get it to do it again, but it was hilarious when it did!
Was wondering if there's a way to edit the auto complete dictionary on the E6/Symbian ^3/Symbian Anna? There is an auto complete dictionary editor available from Beta labs, but is incompatible with the E6. I seem to remember that the trick in earlier versions of Symbian phones was to connect the phone in USB mass storage mode and then edit a file. Don't remember the name of the file at the moment. Does any one remember this?
When im typing on the phone by itself remove the space between common symbols and letters, a clear example.. i want to mean im at some restaurant, i try to type it as "@ dogan's" but my phone as soon as i type the first letter after the blank space.. removes it.. and i end up on "@dogan's". i want to know if it is a MotoBlur issue, or a Android 2.1 (Eclair) Issue.
is there a way to turn off auto correct while still having it make suggestions? you could on previous builds but in mm it appears as though you either use spell check or not... there's no option to turn off auto correct.
Just a suggestions for Moto, auto-correct should not automatically correct proper nouns. It is impossible to have every name in any database, so if I capitalize a word, it should just leave it alone. I have typed so many things on fb and elsewhere only to see a name of a person or place coming up something ridiculous after I put it up.
lackBerry 9550“ Storm2Smartphone (3G, CDMA, Wi-Fi)V5.0.0.320 (Platform4.2.0.124) {17}I am thoroughly frustrated by trying to type on my new Blackberry Storm2.Even when using the full QWERTY keyboard (either portrait or landscape) if I type he software gives me a choice of If I dont choose one it corrects my typing automatically and often makes the incorrect choice.have found information on turning off Suretype and using a full QWERTY keyboard in the portrait mode but that hasnt solved the problem!
I have a Nokia 1520 and I love the phone. I have been curious about the autocorrect function and have tried looking for these options myself but I can't find answers.
1. my phone recognizes that cant and dont (without apostrophes) are misspelled words, but it still does not autocorrect them. It does pop up with word replacement and I can tap on the can't or don't suggestion, but why does the phone not automatically change it out?
2. is there a way to set which words I want replaced with something? I know the iphone has an option to switch out words but I can't find anything like that on my windows device.
I do not want to reset my dictionary as I have had the phone for a while, it is inconvenient and it seems like there would be an option to fix it.
