Galaxy S6 :: Swype Autocorrect Option
Apr 21, 2015So, simple question, is there, or is there not a way to turn off auto-correct on the S6, for the Swype keyboard?
My title is as it is because, no matter how concise your search is, on here, or on google, searching ANYTHING for turning off autocorrect will give you results for every other device in the universe but the s6.
The menu is different, the settings are different, there is no "auto-complete" in the menu...the way you do it s5 and prior does NOT apply. Turning off some other option, like the auto-predict, auto-capitolize, etc, etc...does NOT work.

Whenever I type a word with an apostrophe (I'll, we'll, Don't etc) the regular on board keyboard corrects it to something like I'I'll we'we'll and don'don't every time. I have, when I've noticed the suggestion appear, attempted to delete these words from the user dictionary but they keep coming back. I can't even find access to the entire user dictionary to delete there, just the suggestion bar.
It's very annoying as I keep getting doubled words when typing fast. It's only happening on apostrophe words and I never "taught" those words to my phone.
It's like it is trying to correct by replacing the correct word's last letter with the entire word.

Aug 19, 2015Before today my phone had this really cool feature where if my phone autocorrected a word, then I could hit the backspace button immediately after and it would revert the word back to its original form. But now it updated last night and that feature is gone.

Jun 13, 2012My autocorrect has taken on a mind of it's own, and will now change perfectly fine words to completely different ones. It will change "it" to "is" or "bad" to "sad" and many other unnecessary changes. Today was the final straw, it changed "there" to "their". when the sentence was, "He's been upset since he got there." So it's not as if it was being smart enough to replace the proper tense, it was just wrong! Will there been an improvement with autocorrect in the next update, because I've decided to turn it off until this madness stops.

Nov 25, 2012On the Sony build of Android 4.0.4 (all Builds!) on a German "SK17i", the settings for turning off the auto-correction for punctuation is plainly ignored.That is: "Automatical Upper- Lower case" is UNchecked, "automatical replacement" is UNchecked and also in the XPERIA keyboard setting I changed the word suggestions to "never help with typing, do not suggest".And STILL, every time there is a full stop the phone starts the next word at upper case (also at places like "e.g."). If I hit upper case at the beginning of a sentence or after an abreviation, as I am used to with a QWERTZ keyboard, it switches to CAPSLOCK FOR ALL FOLLOWING words in that textbox.It is not even consistent in doing so: when entering a title for an appointment, the phone "Upper Cases" Every Word There Is And Switches To CAPSLOCK When Pressing Shift One Time Regardless Of The Punctuation.It is so annoying I sometimes want to smack the phone to the wall and grab my old Palm Pre which just works like it should, that is like a regular keyboard.I consider this to be a serious bug as the software is clearly IGNORING the system settings.

Jul 8, 2015In my LG G3, when I want to make correction to the text that I have typed, I see a "droplet" icon near the character I want to change. This is the icon that is used to drag and place the cursor somewhere else. (I do not know the correct technical term for this draggable icon.)
The problem is that I cannot touch and drag this droplet icon. Usually this icon is rectangle in shape, but I see it as a droplet icon. Initally it was a rectangle icon. I accidently pressed some key which changed the cursor to "droplet" shape.

The software fights to maintain this corruption, so that I have to enter a blank-space and then delete it to maintain the actual string that I want. But whether I leave it in the trunk or in the glove box it still comes up with this Temperature issue. Do you think this is bad? What precautions should I take? Apr 8, 2012Although I have connected my AT&T email to my iPhone and iPad in the past, they have stopped working. I now am unable to get a connection to AT&T email using their settings. I have even used the new servicers, outbound.att.net and inbound.att.net to no avail. I have tried it with and without SSL. the message just keeps saying that my username or password is incorrect, and I know that this is not true. AT&T refuses to help with email connections to any mobile device. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Mar 8, 2010I've earlier posted two questions about the issues.Would also like to push for theese, for me, very important improvements in a future E72 software release:Improve the search, when dialing from stand by mode (home screen), to also include the "Save As" field from Outlook, or at least the company name. It works in the contacts screen and should of course work in the home screen.Evolve the categories in the calendar so that it can be used with Outlook categories fully.These two improvements would really add a lot of value for me and i think for a lot of other people who use the E72 for business.Would really be nice to here from someone at Nokia that "we are aware and working on a solution".

Jul 9, 2010I am using the E72 now. But I have used almost all E-series (with keyboard) and even back to the 9000 series communicators. So far I am still very puzzled why Nokia cannot do a proper and simple search for CONTACTs. eg. John Smith, IBM, (Address) - Australia xxxx, (cell) 901222*******. You type Smith John, and it will return nothing. You type IBM and will return nothing. You type Australia, it will return nothing. You search the cell number say 9012, it wil return nothing why so dumb. I really don't care how it can connect to the internet, or listen to music or anything extra you can think of. It is a phone and the address book is the most often used pcs of software. Pls improve it with GLOBAL, all field search, instant and fast, even telephone numbers should be searchable. How difficult can that be? I am sure if you open the code, a 16 yr old kid can improve it!

Jun 14, 2015I selected "I never want to have any words or letters replaced" in Words Suggestions in Language and Input. I can see word suggestions on top of Xperia keyboard but I am unable to select the words. The letters below the words gets selected instead. This only happens in phone is held upright (portrait). The selection works when phone is rotated horizontal (landscape).
That leads me to another problem, when in horizontal (landscape), only a slither of the doc avail for editing. The keyboard takes up 2 thirds of the space, and apps tool bar takes the rest of the real estate above that. Hence I almost never input any docs/apps on the Z3 horizontally. Maybe the real estate issue is because I use large font size.

Mar 13, 2012English auto-correction is good to use and helps me type faster, however Korean auto-correction is not helpful at all and I find myself having to close the suggested word-box almost 1 out of 2 Korean words which I type.
Is there any way to have one language with auto-correction turned on and the other language's auto-correction turned off?
It seems rather stupid to not have this function available in the first place as there seems to be a lot of languages' auto-correction which are not really helpful.

Sep 13, 2010i have just purchased a sony ericsson spiro w100i after having had a k310i for many years. On the k320i was a word suggestions option which had "display as list" or "dont display"selecting "dont display" meant that i didnt have the box showing up with a list of possible words i was typing in. On the new phone (w100i) I found "word suggestions" and "next word suggestions" both of which i set to off.However i am still having word suggestions displayed.I would like to know if it is possible on the w100i to not have the list of words displayed as it was with the k310i? any help would be greatly appreciated and of course if it isnt possible to have it not displayed i will just have tp get used to it .

Jun 23, 2010Having owned the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic for a couple of months or so, I must say that I really like the phone and it has great functionality.My main concerns/issues however are outlined below:
1. Facebook for Nokia app is slow, does not show all of the functions that m.facebook.com shows and isn't a homescreen widget (e.g. push notifications)
2. Communities app is even slower and again does not have the functionality of m.facebook.com and doesn't show notifications at all!
3. The Nokia Messaging app insists on connecting to 3G all the time, rather than a wifi connection when available. I've also experienced intermittent issues when trying to connect (sometimes it stays offline and even selecting 'Go online' doesn't wake the program up).
4. Default web browser keeps crashing and doesn't support larger websites (I experience intermittent crashes as well as memory issues). I do not receive such issues in Opera Mobile. I also dislike the defaulting to full screen mode all the time. If you turn full screen off, as soon as you navigate to a different page it goes back to full screen again, therefore increasing the activity on the phone and it takes longer to load the page before you can scroll or click another link.
I think I've covered all of my main concerns but in essence this device really needs better app support and social networking integration.I would be grateful if I could be given an update on if/when we can expect to receive such support.If anyone else agrees, please indicate below along with any additional feature requests relating to this topic.
